Live3D

An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.

I bought a Live3D membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of live3d.io, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a Live3D membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade Live3D on my feel alone.

I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.

This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and Live3D’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.

Part 1 · What it offers

What Live3D offers

Live3D (live3d.io) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.

Features
Real-time 3D animated avatar companion, iOS and Android mobile apps, 3D character appearance customization, NSFW content in avatar context
Free tier
The AI girlfriend, character and roleplay chat pages are free text chat without an account, with photo unlocks gated behind conversation progress, and the face-swap tool is free with ten video swaps a day; the VTuber software keeps a free Lite suite.
Plans
$5.90/mo
Extras
From $5.90/month. Mobile app available for 3D avatar experience.
Operator
Live3D Inc., Not disclosed on the site or in the press I read, since 2019 as VTuber Maker (the live3d.io domain was registered in May 2018); the AI chat and face-swap tools were added later; domain registered May 2018
Best for
Users who specifically want a visually animated 3D avatar companion presence at a budget price
Not for
Users who don't value the visual dimension, or who need voice calls as a primary feature

Features and prices from the platform’s own pages; operator from press coverage (live3d.io product and pricing pages, Inter Press Service advertorial, r/Live3D staff reply (2021), DNS registration record). Official site and social accounts are listed at the end of the page.

Part 2 · What people say

What people say about Live3D

I bought a membership and tested Live3D myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 6 YouTube videos with 14,693 views between them, 2 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 3 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 2 video transcripts (7 words), 2 threads with their top comments and 3 articles in full, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.

Favourability at a glance

Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.

The gap between YouTube videos and Press articles on one side and Reddit on the other is the main sentiment finding on this page, and the sections below explain it.

Each feature, and what people think of it

What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.

FeatureVerdictWhat people say
Chat and roleplayMixedNo source tests it. The site's own pages promise 'completely free, with no restrictions whatsoever' roleplay with anime girls and 'famous personalities', and send you to a sister site, VMate.ai, to upload your own character. The silence is the finding: 0 of 6 videos, 0 of 2 threads and 0 of 3 articles mention the chat.My test: Disagree with 'no restrictions'. The chat stays on topic and in character for a few dozen messages, but the photo unlocks are gated behind conversation progress and the personality reads like a template once the opening scene is used up.
MemoryNegativeNothing in any source, and nothing on the product pages, claims persistence; the FAQ covers safety and free access and says nothing about memory. My test: Agree with the silence. A detail from one session was gone by the next in my test; this is a chat you start fresh each time.
3D avatar presencePositiveThe company's real technology: VTuber Maker's webcam tracking, praised in both Reddit threads for hand and upper-body capture without VR hardware and shown in all six videos. In the companion, the same engine makes the avatar react while you type.My test: Agree. The avatar visibly reacting to the conversation is the one thing here no rival at this price does; on mobile it is a showcase more than a polished product.
Images and photo unlocksMixedThe companion pages sell 'peek into your AI girlfriend's photo' and unlocking 'her life photos' as the chat progresses. The site's separate image tools are the press story: unlimited photo face swaps, ten video swaps a day, a text-to-image generator (3 articles). My test: Partly disagree with the pitch. The unlock photos are stock-style renders rather than images of the character you are talking to, and there is no generator inside the chat; the face-swap tool next door is the stronger product.
VoiceNegativeNo source mentions voice. The companion is text only, and the VTuber tools are about tracking a face, not synthesising a voice. My test: Agree. There is no voice of any kind, which is odd for a product whose whole pitch is presence.
Characters and customisationMixedPre-built anime and celebrity-style characters on the chat pages; custom characters require moving to VMate.ai. Avatar appearance for the VTuber side is deep (40+ models, 50+ animations, VRM editing), and the Reddit paywall thread notes custom VRM uploads were moved behind a plan.My test: Agree. Body, face, clothing and animation style are real choices for the avatar; the personality underneath them is thin.
Free tierPositiveThe chat pages and the face-swap tool are free without an account (3 articles), with ten video swaps a day as the stated cap. The VTuber software keeps a free Lite suite, though the 2021 thread records free features moving behind a paywall. My test: Agree, with the company's own caveat: free today is how Live3D finds out what people will pay for tomorrow.
PriceMixedNo source quotes a price for the companion. The pricing page lists a free Lite suite and a VIP tier at 'about $1K' by contact; third-party listings quote VTuber suites at $16.90 and $99.90 a month. The plan this profile is based on was $5.90 a month. My test: Agree it is cheap for live 3D rendering, and partly disagree with calling it simple: the pricing page is for streamers and studios, and the companion's price is nowhere on it.
Privacy and safetyMixedThe newswire 'review' calls the face-swap tool safe on the strength of 'uploads deleted after completion', a claim it labels 'if accurately implemented'. The site ranks #13 in the US for 'undressing ai' (201,000 searches a month), which no article mentions. My test: Partly disagree with 'safe'. No-login use is real and good; the deletion claim is unverified, and a company that ranks for undressing searches is in a riskier business than its press admits.
Support and legitimacyMixedA real company (Live3D Inc., since 2019) with a Discord of 2,857 members, a Steam community and a staff member who answers in its subreddit. Against that, the only question in the positive Reddit thread went unanswered, and the chat pages' FAQ is thin.My test: Agree. Billing self-service worked and the company is real; I could not find a support channel for the companion specifically, only the general support address.

How I read this

Sentiment is the hardest thing to measure honestly. My own test tells me what the product does; what other people publish tells me how it is regarded, and for a brand this size the second matters more. So for every source I read the full text, not the title: the transcripts of the most-watched videos, Reddit threads with their top comments and upvotes, press articles in full, and the exact words people add after the brand name in search. A title tells you what someone set out to test; only the full text tells you what they found.

The most-watched videos, and what they actually say

For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.

What the videos add up to

Reading across the 2 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.

Of the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative.

Nobody has reviewed Live3D's companion on YouTube. Of the eight results, two were other Live3Ds (a 2009 university webcam project and a test in a rival VTuber app) and the six that remain are all from the company's channel, posted between 2019 and 2022, about VTuber Maker: hand tracking, keyboard props, three avatars on one stage. Only two carry captions, and those are a few words of backing music.

What they establish is the brand's history. Live3D built a desktop avatar tool for streamers, with a free tier and a paid one, and its community formed around that. The AI companion chat and the face-swap tools that now drive its traffic arrived afterwards and have no video coverage at all, from the company or anyone else.

So I have no video verdicts to agree or disagree with. The absence is itself a finding: a site with 300,000 search visits a month and not one third-party video about its chat product is a site people arrive at for tools, use, and leave without talking about.

What gets praised

  • Hand and upper-body tracking from a normal webcam (3 of the 6 videos, by title)
  • Keyboard-triggered props and effects for streams (2 videos, by title)
  • Several avatars on one stage (1 video, by title)

What gets criticised

  • No video, from anyone, covers the AI companion chat (6 of 6 videos are about VTuber software)
  • No narration or test in any video; only two have captions and those are music (6 videos)
  • Nothing newer than four years old (6 videos)

What Reddit says, thread by thread

The threads Google surfaces for "live3d" on Reddit, read with their top comments. Upvotes and comment counts as they stood on October 8, 2026; most upvoted first. Screenshots show the post as it is publicly visible.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "Now after all these months you put features in vtuber maker that we have been using for free behind a paywall?"

    r/Live3D · u/KechanicalMeyboard · September 30, 2021 · 6 upvotes · 5 comments · open on Reddit

Negative · what the thread says

A 2021 complaint that features users 'have been using for free', mainly upper-body tracking and custom VRM models, were moved behind a paywall. The poster still rates the software above 3tene, Wakaru and VSeeFace for performance, looks and expression tracking. A Live3D staff member replies and confirms the charge: maintenance costs are high, so 'we will charge fees', with 'small tasks' that let old users earn free access, 'details on the price page'.

“It is true that we have charged fees. In order for us to move forward better, we will charge fees. Otherwise, our software maintenance costs will be very high.” — u/DesignZhang, +1

My read: The company's own account of its business model, and I partly disagree with the poster. Charging for what was free is a real grievance, but a free Lite suite still exists five years on and the paid tiers are what funded everything that came after, including the companion. The pattern to notice is the one the complaint describes: features appear free, then move behind a plan.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "My Vtuber Maker Experience and Review"

    r/Live3D · u/Aters · March 15, 2022 · 3 upvotes · 1 comments · open on Reddit

Positive · what the thread says

A 2022 write-up in the company's own subreddit calling VTuber Maker 'great user-friendly software for newbies and professionals': a quick panel of animations, scene and avatar settings, NPC characters to spawn, desktop windows for video setups. The part the poster singles out is tracking: hand and upper-body capture from an ordinary webcam, less accurate than the Vive, Oculus and Kinect rigs they had used but good enough and cheaper. The one reply asks whether it works with VSeeFace, and nobody answers.

“Vtuber Maker - great user-friendly software for newbies and professionals.” — u/Aters, +3

My read: A review of the streaming tool, and I agree with it as far as it goes. The webcam tracking is the same technology that makes the companion's avatar react while you type, and it is the best thing about the product. Three upvotes and no answer to the only question is also the state of this community: small and quiet.

What Reddit adds up to

Reading across the 2 threads, weighted by upvotes.

Of the 2 threads I read, 1 is positive and 1 is negative.

Reddit has two threads about this Live3D, both in r/Live3D, both about VTuber Maker, from 2021 and 2022; the third result was an unrelated open-source design tool. One is a positive review that praises webcam tracking, the other a complaint that free features were moved behind a paywall, answered by a staff member who confirms it.

Nothing on Reddit mentions the AI girlfriend generator, the character chat or the face-swap tools that now account for the site's traffic. That matches YouTube: the community formed around streaming software and did not follow the company into AI tools.

The one durable signal is the paywall pattern. Free features that later move behind a plan is how the company says it funds development, in its own words, and it is the thing to expect from the 'completely free' companion pages.

What gets praised

  • Webcam hand and upper-body tracking, good enough without VR hardware (2 threads)
  • Performance, avatar looks and expression tracking better than 3tene, Wakaru and VSeeFace (1 thread)
  • Low CPU use (1 thread)

What gets criticised

  • Features that were free moved behind a paywall, confirmed by staff (1 thread)
  • Questions go unanswered in the company subreddit (1 thread)
  • No thread at all about the companion chat or the AI tools (2 of 2 threads are about VTuber software)

In the press

The latest articles that mention Live3D, newest first. For each one: what it says, then my take on its view of the brand.

  • Is Live3D Face Swap AI Safe? Full Security and Privacy ReviewBig News Network.com · April 28, 2026

Positive · what the article says

A newswire 'security and privacy review' of Live3D's face-swap tool that answers its own question in the first sentence: safe for normal creative use. Its evidence is the product's own claims, no mandatory login, watermark-free output, browser-based, uploads 'deleted after completion', each qualified with 'according to public descriptions' or 'if accurately implemented'. It ends with advice to upload only photos you own.

My take: A press release in the shape of a review, and I partly disagree with its conclusion: it verifies nothing, and a site that also ranks on page two for 'undressing ai' needs more than its own privacy copy to be called safe. The one useful fact is that basic use needs no account, which I confirmed.

  • Live3D AI face swap: When face swap fails and whyTyN Magazine · December 10, 2025

    Could not read

This page blocks automated readers, so I have only the headline: a piece on when Live3D's face swap fails and why.

  • Live3D AI Face Swap: The Ultimate Tool for Instant Face SwappingInter Press Service · November 27, 2025

Positive · what the article says

An advertorial on a newswire's business section: 'fast, easy, and totally free' face swapping with unlimited photo swaps, ten free video swaps a day, no login and no watermarks, plus a text-to-image generator. It lists uses (reaction videos, cosplay previews, memes), tips (sharp photos, even lighting, matching angles), a one-line privacy assurance, and a FAQ that repeats the free limits.

My take: Marketing copy, and the limits it quotes are the ones I found: photo swaps unlimited, video swaps capped per day. It says nothing about the companion chat, which tells you which product the company pays to promote.

  • Transforming Creativity with Live3D AI Face SwapVocal · September 23, 2025

Positive · what the article says

A 'Daily Blog' post on Vocal that reads as machine-written promotion: the same unlimited photo swaps, ten video swaps a day, no login, no watermark feature list, uses for marketers, gamers and fans, and a closing line calling the tool 'a game-changer'. No test, no comparison, no price for anything beyond the free tier.

My take: Another placement, a year old, with the identical feature list to the newswire piece. The repetition across outlets is the point: Live3D's press footprint is bought, and it is all about face swap.

What the press adds up to

Reading across the 3 articles I could open.

Of the 3 articles I read, 3 are positive and none is negative.

Of four articles, three are readable and all three are promotional: a newswire 'safety review' built on the product's own claims, a newswire advertorial, and a Vocal blog post with the identical feature list. The fourth blocks readers. None is independent and none mentions the AI girlfriend or character chat.

What they agree on, because they share a source: unlimited photo face swaps, ten free video swaps a day, no login, no watermark, uploads deleted after processing. The first two I confirmed; the deletion claim nobody checks, including the article that calls the tool safe on the strength of it.

The useful reading is commercial. The company spends its press budget on face swap, which is also where its traffic comes from. The companion chat is a free page in the menu, not the product the company is selling to the press.

What gets praised

  • No login needed for basic use (3 articles)
  • No watermarks and unlimited photo swaps (3 articles)
  • Uploads deleted after processing, per the company (2 articles)

What gets criticised

  • Every readable article is promotional, none tests anything (3 articles)
  • Safety verdict rests on the company's own privacy claims (1 article)
  • No mention of the companion chat, memory, voice or pricing beyond free limits (3 articles)

What people type into Google before they sign up

Google's own suggestions after "live3d" and the related searches Google Trends ranks highest over the last 12 months, retrieved October 7, 2026.

These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.

  • “face swap video”+500%
  • “ai face swap free”+300%

Google Trends “rising” related queries; “Breakout” means growth over 5,000%.

My take

People search for Live3D's face swap, not its girlfriend. Every autocomplete entry but two is a tool: 'live3d.io face swap', 'live3d video face swap', 'live3d image to video', 'live3d multiple face swap', with 'live3d vtuber' and 'live3d vtuber maker' for the old product. Nothing in the autocomplete or the related queries mentions chat, companion or girlfriend.

The Trends chart is a face-swap chart. The top related query is 'face swap', the rising list is eight variations on it, with 'live3d ai face swap' up 1,000% and 'free face swap' a breakout, and the other names in the list are 'vtuber' and 'perchance', a free generator people compare it with. Brand searches quadrupled from 1,300 a month in September 2025 to 5,400 in 2026 on the back of that, which is the brand becoming a tool name.

The head terms it ranks for tell you what business it is in: #5 for 'ai face swap' (135,000 US searches a month), #4 for 'free ai face swap', #28 for 'face swap' itself and #13 for 'undressing ai'. It is not in the top 20 for 'ai girlfriend'. Its keyword rivals are media.io, Fotor, Magic Hour and Canva, image editors, not companion apps.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach

How much traffic Live3D gets, and where it ranks

How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.

On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, live3d.io ranked #61,355 among every domain worldwide, up 52,202 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 50,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #27, behind Caveduck and Flipped.

How I read this

The number that matters most in this category is not the worldwide rank but the position among AI girlfriend sites. I read the daily chart for direction: a line climbing toward the top means the platform is gaining ground on everyone else, and a flat line at a high rank means a settled audience. Tranco is a rank, not a visit count, so I never convert it into visits.

The only videos are the company's own VTuber Maker promos, four to seven years oldOf the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. The video record is six silent VTuber Maker promos from the company itself, the newest four years old, and not a single third-party test of the companion chat.

My take: the story in the numbers

What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.

The traffic on this page is face-swap traffic. Live3D ranks #5 in the US for 'ai face swap', #4 for 'free ai face swap', #28 for 'face swap' and #13 for 'undressing ai', head terms worth 135,000 to 246,000 searches a month each, and its keyword rivals are media.io, Fotor and Magic Hour. The companion chat does not rank for anything I can find. So the 301,000 worldwide visits in September 2026 measure a free image tool, and the brand's rank of #27 of the AI girlfriend sites I track is borrowed from it.

The spike was spring 2026, and it has mostly unwound. Traffic sat near 200,000 a month through 2025, then climbed from 251,000 in October 2025 to 1.08 million in April 2026, more than five times over in six months. It then fell by half in June (518,000) and kept falling to 301,000 by September, down 9% on August though still 45% above a year earlier. US visits trace the same arc: 32,500 in September 2025, 85,900 in April, 30,200 now. A rise and fall that steep on head terms is rankings won and lost, not an audience that came and went; the most plausible reason is that the face-swap pages took page-one positions for a few months and then slipped as the same queries filled with rivals.

Brand searches quadrupled while the traffic halved. 'live3d' went from 1,300 US searches a month in September 2025 to 5,400 by April 2026 and held there through August, and the related query driving it is 'live3d ai face swap', up 1,000% in Trends. People who used the tool once now search for it by name. That is a real gain the traffic chart hides, and it is why September's decline looks like a correction rather than a collapse.

The link profile had a shock and recovered on a different base. Backlinks fell from 290,000 in October 2024 to 22,500 by March 2025, a lost sitewide placement, probably an embedded widget or footer link on one large site. Referring domains never flinched: 1,041 to 3,488 over two years, with the steepest rise from July 2025 (1,686) to February 2026 (3,246), the same window as the traffic surge. Nine links per domain now, against 280 before, means the profile is hundreds of tool directories and listicles rather than one partner. Domain Rating 60 reflects that breadth.

Tranco moved 52,000 places in five weeks, from 113,557 on 31 August to 61,355 on 6 October, while search traffic fell. Visits arriving by routes other than Google, direct, embeds, the VTuber software and the app, grew while search visits shrank, which fits a tool that people bookmark after finding it once. Indonesia (48,600 visits) outranks the US (43,500) and India (34,800) is third; this is a global free-tool audience, and the countries say little about who would pay for a companion.

Verdict. Holding steady on the scorecard year on year, falling month on month, with brand demand up fourfold and the link base tripled. The number to watch is the one nobody talks about: the 'undressing ai' ranking. If the face-swap pages hold page one, traffic stabilises around 300,000; if a policy or ranking change hits that category, Live3D drops back to its 2025 level of 200,000, and the companion pages would not notice either way.

In short

What I learned, and what I expect next

Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: Live3D is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.

How it is performing

Live3D drew an estimated 301,360 visits from Google search in September 2026, -9.2% on August 2026 and +45.2% on a year earlier. Over the last quarter the trend is slipping (-59.7% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #27 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind Caveduck and Flipped.

Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: there are no reviews of the companion, only silent VTuber promos, two old Reddit threads about streaming software and three bought articles about face swap, and that silence lines up with the numbers. The traffic that surged and fell in 2026 belongs to the image tools, the brand searches that quadrupled are people looking for 'live3d ai face swap', and the companion chat is a free page in the menu with nothing ranking, nothing reviewed and nothing remembered between sessions. What the sources do praise, the webcam-tracked avatar, is also the companion's one real asset, so the product has a future if the company ever points its press budget at it.

What changed

Brand demand is the standout: about 5,400 US searches a month (+315.4% year on year) and 40,500 worldwide. Demand and traffic are rising together, which is the healthiest pattern there is. In popularity terms it has climbed 52,202 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+76.5% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. The video record is six silent VTuber Maker promos from the company itself, the newest four years old, and not a single third-party test of the companion chat. Reddit's whole record is two old threads about the VTuber software, one praising its webcam tracking and one objecting, with staff confirmation, to free features moving behind a paywall.

What I expect

The indicators point in different directions, so I expect Live3D to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 342K visits a month and a position around #27 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 6 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month

  • Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
  • Whether US brand searches move out of the 5.4K band they have sat in.
  • Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.

Part 7 · Method

How I measured all this

I bought a Live3D membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.

Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
Brand search volume
Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
Domain Rating
Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
Popularity rank
The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
Hands-on testing
I purchased a Live3D membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
Rounding and independence
Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or Live3D.

Part 8 · Final verdict

One last word on Live3D

Live3D is a VTuber and AI image-tool company with a free companion chat in its menu, and after a month with it that is how I would describe it to anyone deciding. The avatar that reacts while you type is the one thing here no rival at the price does, and the technology behind it, webcam tracking from the VTuber Maker days, is praised in the only user threads that exist. The company is real, the free tier is real, and the face-swap tool next door is better than most people's paid ones.

The companion itself is thin in every direction except the visual one. No voice, no memory between sessions, a personality that reads like a template once the opening scene is used up, photo unlocks that are not pictures of the character you are talking to, and no support channel of its own. Nobody has reviewed it, which is not an accident: there is not much to review.

Who should pick it: someone who wants to see a 3D avatar react in real time, for a few dollars, and does not mind that the conversation underneath is basic; and anyone who wants a free, no-login face-swap tool, which is what the site is actually good at. Who should not: anyone who needs memory, voice or a companion that develops, and anyone uneasy about a company that also ranks for 'undressing ai' searches.

Where it stands today: #27 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, on traffic that belongs to its image tools, up 45% year on year and down 9% on the month. If the company ever puts voice and memory behind the avatar it would be a genuinely different product; until then the rank measures face swap, and the companion is a demo of good technology attached to an ordinary chatbot.
