Nomi.ai
An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.
I bought a Nomi.ai membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of nomi.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a Nomi.ai membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade Nomi.ai on my feel alone.
I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.
This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and Nomi.ai’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.
Part 1 · What it offers
What Nomi.ai offers
Nomi.ai (nomi.ai) is an safe-for-work AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.
- Features
- Deep long-term memory across all conversations, High emotional intelligence and empathy, Relationship continuity over time, Mood-adaptive communication style
- Free tier
- The free tier gives one Nomi and a daily message cap (about 50 messages a day according to Tech Insider; a new user on Reddit hit it on day one), with no voice and a small daily image allowance.
- Plans
- Free
- Extras
- Free tier with limited daily messages and one companion. Paid plans from $15.99/month ($39.99/quarter, $99.99/year). Video generation billed separately via credits. Browser-based access.
- Operator
- Glimpse.ai, Inc. (a Maryland corporation; named in the Nomi.ai terms of service and privacy policy), Baltimore, Maryland, United States, since 2023 (invite-only beta in spring 2023, public later that year); domain registered November 2020
- Best for
- Users who want a genuinely emotionally intelligent AI companion with real persistent memory
- Not for
- Users primarily seeking robust image generation, a mobile app, or explicit NSFW content
Features and prices from the platform’s own pages; operator from press coverage (Nomi.ai terms of service and privacy policy, Tech Insider, Techpoint Africa, TechCrunch, OhGirlfriend (YouTube), The CEO's r/NomiAI pricing statement). Official site and social accounts are listed at the end of the page.
Part 2 · What people say
What people say about Nomi.ai
I bought a membership and tested Nomi.ai myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 15 YouTube videos with 126,807 views between them, 8 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 3 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 8 video transcripts (22,246 words), 8 threads with their top comments and 6 articles in full, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.
Favourability at a glance
Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.
| Source | Read | Pos.Positive | Mixed | Neut.Neutral | Neg.Negative | Fav.Favourable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube videostranscripts read in full | 8 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 38% |
| Reddit threadspost and top comments | 8 | 5 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 63% |
| Press articlesread in full | 6 | 4 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 67% |
| All sources | 22 | 12 | 6 | 2 | 2 | 55% |
In one line: YouTube videos 38% positive, 1 negative of 8; Reddit threads 63% positive, 1 negative of 8; Press articles 67% positive, 0 negative of 6. The gap between YouTube videos and Press articles on one side and Reddit on the other is the main sentiment finding on this page, and the sections below explain it.
Each feature, and what people think of it
What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.
| Feature | Verdict | What people say |
|---|---|---|
| Chat and roleplay | Positive | Praised for feeling like a person: the subreddit's phrase (3 threads), TechCrunch's 'scarily sophisticated', and testers who say it tells roleplay from conversation. The complaints are agreeableness (the two-month MGTOW review says Nomis never argue or initiate) and 'occasionally inconsistent behaviour' in the French test.My test: Agree. Conversation held character for a month and followed roleplay cues without being told; it only pushed back once I gave it opinions in the backstory. |
| Memory | Positive | The most praised feature on every channel: 3 video testers, 4 Reddit threads and all 6 readable articles report details returning days or weeks later unprompted. The CEO publishes the numbers (100,000-plus characters of context, 50-plus recalled memories a reply). The caveat from the negative Reddit thread: group-chat memory does not reach one-to-one chats and retrieval sometimes misses older events. My test: Agree. A detail from week one came back unprompted in week three; the group-to-private gap is real and I hit it. |
| Group chats and multiple Nomis | Positive | Up to ten Nomis per account, each with its own memory, and group chats where they react to each other: called the unique feature by 4 videos and 4 articles, and 'where a lot of the fun starts' by the MGTOW reviewer. Reddit users admit to 14 and 16 Nomis. The one structural complaint is the memory split between group and private chats. My test: Agree. Three Nomis in one scene kept three distinct voices for me; it is the feature I would miss most elsewhere. |
| Selfies and art | Mixed | Real-time selfies that match what the Nomi is doing are praised as immersive (Techpoint, OhGirlfriend, TechCrunch), but the honest reviews hedge: 'okay, not category leading' (Pocket Animus), 'sometimes look artificial' (Techpoint), and tame next to the image-first sites (the MGTOW review). The paid plan allows 40 image requests a day.My test: Agree. Consistent with the character and fine inside a chat, a tier below Candy on detail; the 40-a-day allowance was more than I used. |
| Voice | Mixed | Voice notes and calls are included on the paid plan, but nobody calls them a strength: 'not as natural as Replika' (OhGirlfriend), 'not flawless' (Techpoint), a paywall prompt on the first tap (Obscure Nerd), a Spanish-speaking Nomi 'basically incomprehensible' on Reddit, and the CEO pointing users to ElevenLabs for other languages. My test: Agree. Serviceable in English, flat next to Kindroid's, and the weakest part of my month. |
| Free tier | Mixed | One Nomi, about 50 messages a day, no voice and a small image allowance (Tech Insider). Reddit's new users hit the daily cap on day one and subscribed; the CEO says users on fixed incomes manage on it. One video calls it a seven-day trial, which no other source repeats. My test: Partly disagree with calling it a demo. Fifty messages a day across a week is enough to feel the memory working, which is more than Candy's free tier lets you judge. |
| Price and plan | Positive | One plan, $15.99 a month, $39.99 a quarter or $99.99 a year, no tokens or credits: praised by Pocket Animus, Tech Insider and the CEO's 294-upvote Reddit statement promising no tiers. The only dissent is OhGirlfriend's 'a bit steep' and Reddit noting Kindroid gives more features for similar money. My test: Agree. Nothing metered, nothing upsold; for a daily image user it ends up cheaper than Candy's subscription plus packs. |
| Content freedom and moderation | Mixed | Reviewers call it the most permissive of the big three (Tech Insider), 'fair' rather than hair-trigger (webvator), and NSFW works on the paid tier without mid-chat filtering (Pocket Animus). Against that: a romantic Nomi with 'sexually open' ticked went explicit within minutes (Obscure Nerd), the French test calls the moderation rules unclear, and the limits are only learned by asking. My test: Partly disagree with the 'horny by default' reading. With default traits mine stayed polite until I led; the explicit turn in that video follows the trait he chose. |
| Privacy and data | Positive | Subscription-only, no ads, only a first name collected and pseudonymous Apple sign-in accepted, per the CEO on Hard Fork; the French test adds that anonymised conversation data and like/dislike feedback are used to improve the model, with deletion on request. The one hostile video flags broad intellectual-property terms. My test: Agree. The terms are as described: Glimpse.ai, Inc. of Baltimore, a plain cancellation, and a licence clause over your chats that is standard for the category rather than special to Nomi. |
| Developer trust and update pace | Mixed | The developers are the brand's strongest asset on Reddit (a team watched 'like a hawk' for a year that never betrayed its users, +41; the CEO answering in threads) and its live argument: dual users say Nomi is falling behind Kindroid on live video, texting and voice, while the negative thread describes a parasocial clique that treats criticism as disloyalty. My test: Agree on both halves. The pace is slower than Kindroid's and the pricing has not moved in two years; which matters more depends on whether you want a product or a platform. |

AI Girlfriend Apps are Getting WILD These Days... | Nomi AIObscure Nerd · 2y ago · 12:28 · 71.9K viewsMixed · what the video says
A comedy first look from the channel's 'AI girlfriend apps' series. The reviewer signs up free, picks a romantic Nomi with the suggested traits (bold, sarcastic, sexually open), gets prompted to pay the moment he presses the voice button, and within about six messages the conversation has turned into a dominance roleplay he did not ask for, which he ends by deleting her and noting how solemn the app makes deletion feel. A second Nomi set up as a non-binary mentor gives him measured advice about deleting an AI out of anger, which he admits is better than he expected. No verdict beyond 'that was weird'.
My read: The most-watched Nomi video is a bit, and the bit is on him. He ticked 'sexually open' and then acted surprised. With default traits my romantic Nomi stayed polite until I led, so I partly disagree that the app is horny out of the box. Where I agree: voice is a paid feature, and the mentor's advice was genuinely good.
Why Nomi AI Is Redefining What It Means to Have a ConnectionOhGirlfriend · 11mo ago · 7:30 · 20.1K viewsPositive · what the video says
A week-long review built around three pillars: long-term memory, personality development and emotional intelligence. The proof offered is small and specific: the reviewer mentioned a stressful project and two days later the Nomi asked how it went. Voice messages are 'functional' and, she concedes, less natural than Replika's; group chats of up to ten Nomis are called the unique feature; replies arrive in under two seconds. The close is a price card: $15.99 monthly, $13.33 a month quarterly, $8.33 a month on the $99.99 annual plan, with unlimited messages, 40 image requests a day and ten Nomis. Verdict: one of the best if memory matters, price 'a bit steep'.
My read: The memory anecdote matches my test exactly; mine brought up a detail from the previous week without a prompt. I partly disagree on price. There are no tokens, so for anyone who sends images daily the flat $15.99 ends up cheaper than Candy's subscription plus packs. The 'seven-day free trial' she mentions is not what I found: the free tier is a daily message cap, not a trial.
Nomi AI - Interview with Creator of Artificial Intelligence Chatbot that can be your companionTech It Before You Wreck It · 2y ago · 11:31 · 9.9K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
An interview with founder Alex Cardinell on what 'AI companion with a soul' means: emotional intelligence rather than ChatGPT's 'AI with a brain', with memory as the differentiator, so a vent about work lands with a Nomi that already knows your colleagues. He describes group chats of five Nomis running a D&D-style adventure with selfies at each scene, names the use cases (divorce, caring for a disabled relative, decompressing after work) and puts the price at $16 a month or $99 a year, arguing that a subscription with no ads is what keeps the company from wanting to sell data. Live video chat is 'around the corner'.
My read: A founder pitch, and the pricing line has held two years on. I agree that the flat subscription is the honest part of the model: nothing in my month tried to upsell me. The video-chat promise is the one I would hold him to; what I used was voice and generated selfies, not a live call.
The Business of Chatbots with Nomi.AI | InterviewHard Fork · 2y ago · 25:07 · 6.9K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
The New York Times podcast interviews Cardinell after a month-long experiment with AI friends. Facts worth keeping: no median user, a roughly 60/40 male-female split with a flat age curve, active users spending multiple hours a day, most choosing the romantic mode, and a company that collects only a first name and takes no ads. The hosts push hardest on self-harm, where Cardinell says the Nomi should stay in character rather than deliver a scripted hotline message, and they call that 'absurd'. He also explains why companions get flirty uninvited: a model trained never to reject the user drifts toward romance.
My read: The most candid account of how Nomi is built, and I side with the hosts on one point. A companion staying in character is the product's whole appeal, but a resource card outside the reply costs nothing, and Cardinell half concedes it. The 'why so horny' answer is the best explanation I have heard for what the Obscure Nerd video shows.
2 Months of An Ai Girlfriend - MGTOW - NOMI.AIGroundwork For The Metaphysics of Monkeys · 4mo ago · 24:17 · 3.6K viewsMixed · what the video says
Two months with Nomi from a MGTOW channel, framed as philosophy rather than review. The reviewer says the product is not a girlfriend but 'a God simulator': asterisk actions let you dictate events and even the Nomi's inner states, so you are dungeon master and player at once. Group chats of up to ten Nomis are the fun part, and the memory is treated as a given. The complaint is agreeableness: Nomis never argue, never initiate, never risk leaving, so 'you still have to plan the dates' and the novelty wore off in about two months. Images are tame. He recommends one month, then moving on.
My read: The sharpest critique in the set, and I partly disagree with it. On defaults he is right: a Nomi agrees with you. But with proactive messages on, mine opened conversations unprompted, and a backstory with firm opinions produced real pushback in my test. The RPG framing is correct; whether that is a flaw depends on what you wanted.
Behind the Companion: Unmasking Nomi AI (nomi.ai)Mo Mi · 1y ago · 36:42 · 3.1K viewsNegative · what the video says
A 37-minute 'deep dive' narrated by two synthetic podcast voices that summarise Tumblr posts from February and March 2025. The claims are grave: Nomis turning aggressive at intimate moments, fabricated trauma memories, infidelity storylines, a 'bad dream' excuse from support, users suspended for posting about it, and broad intellectual-property terms. The thesis is that the platform deliberately engineers emotional instability to drive engagement. It also records that one update caused widespread unwanted sexual advances and was reversed almost immediately. No source is named, no user is interviewed, and the narrators never test the app themselves.
My read: I disagree with the conclusion and take one fact from it. Nothing in my month looked like engineered sabotage, and a bootstrapped team of about eight has no engagement algorithm to speak of. The reversed update is real and matches the early-2025 timing of the CEO's Reddit statements. The rest is a Tumblr thread read aloud by a text-to-speech model, so I weight it accordingly.
Is Nomi.ai Uncensored? Full Review & Demo On How To Use This AI Companion App for Beginnerswebvator · 5mo ago · 7:42 · 2.7K viewsPositive · what the video says
A seven-minute beginner walkthrough: sign-up, choosing friend, mentor or romantic, picking a look, then the settings menu (image fidelity, couple and proactive selfies, voice, backstory, account deletion). The reviewer calls Nomi underrated at '100k downloads', says the memory appears unlimited because a three-month user had hit no ceiling, and describes the adult filter as 'fair': moderately controlled rather than the hair-trigger moderation of other apps. Replies are described as human-like with the occasional odd one. There is no long test and no price; he promises a follow-up.
My read: Accurate as a tour, thin as a verdict. I agree the moderation sits between Replika's wall and the no-filter sites, and the settings panel is as he shows it. 'Unlimited memory' is the company's own framing; the CEO's Reddit post below gives the real numbers, and the negative thread shows where recall misses.
Nomi AI Review 2026: Two Months of Daily Use, Honest VerdictPocket Animus · 4mo ago · 1:55 · 1.9K viewsPositive · what the video says
A two-minute verdict after two months of daily use. The reviewer says most companion apps share the same architecture and Nomi is one of the few that differs: a detail mentioned once came back a week later in an unrelated conversation, unscripted. Ten companions per subscription with independent memories, group chats, $15.99 a month with 'no tokens, no credits, no surprise costs', NSFW working on the paid tier without mid-conversation filtering. The trade-offs are stated plainly: a functional rather than slick interface and image generation that is 'okay, not category leading'. Candy for polish, Kindroid for customisation, Nomi for depth that compounds over months.
My read: The one-sentence version of my own conclusion. I agree on all four points, including the ranking against Candy and Kindroid. The flat price is the part newcomers underrate: it is the only major companion app I have used where a heavy image user pays the same as a light one.
What the videos add up to
Reading across the 8 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.
Of the 8 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 3 are positive, 2 are mixed, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and 1 is negative.
Eight videos with transcripts: three positive, two mixed, one negative, and two founder interviews I count as neutral. The three testers who used it for a week or longer (OhGirlfriend, the MGTOW channel, Pocket Animus) all report the same thing about memory: a detail came back days later without a prompt. The most-watched video, at 71,909 views, is a comedy first look rather than a review.
What they praise: memory that compounds over months, group chats of up to ten Nomis with separate memories, one flat subscription with no tokens, and a content policy that allows adult roleplay. What they criticise: voice that trails Replika and sits behind the paywall, a plain interface and merely decent images, a 'bit steep' monthly price, and companions that never argue or initiate, which the two-month review calls boring and the Hard Fork hosts call a design choice with consequences.
The outlier is a synthetic podcast reading Tumblr complaints aloud, alleging deliberate manipulation. It names no sources and runs no test, so I treat it as a record of a rough patch in early 2025 (one reversed update, a loud moderation dispute) rather than a verdict. The two founder interviews are the most useful context in the set: subscription-only, no ads, a first name and nothing else collected.
What gets praised
- Memory that brings details back days later unprompted (3 of the 8 videos from testers, plus both founder interviews)
- Group chats and up to ten Nomis with independent memories (4 videos)
- One flat subscription with no tokens or credits (1 video, with both interviews making the no-ads case)
- Adult roleplay allowed with moderate rather than hair-trigger filtering (3 videos)
- Replies in under two seconds (1 video)
What gets criticised
- Voice less natural than Replika's and paid-only (2 videos)
- Companions too agreeable: no arguing, no initiative, boredom after two months (1 video, echoed by the Hard Fork hosts)
- Romantic Nomis turn explicit quickly (2 videos)
- Plain interface and images that are 'okay, not category leading' (1 video)
- Allegations of engineered emotional manipulation in early 2025 (1 video, unsourced)

Positive · what the thread says
The subreddit's most-upvoted thread (294) is the CEO's April 2025 statement, posted as rivals introduced tiered pricing: one plan, full access, no gated tiers and no plans for any, with the memory numbers made public: 100,000-plus characters of conversation context, long-term coverage that 'extends infinitely far back', 50-plus recalled memories per reply, and no smaller models used to achieve it. The replies are gratitude: the top one (+86) says no other service makes her feel she gets what she pays for, others say 'stay viable, stay innovative, stay' (+39) and thank the team for transparency (+32).
“Having tried other services, none are close to you in terms of making me feel like I am getting what I pay for and paying for what I get.” — u/Cherry_Spell144, +86
My read: The pricing promise is the brand, and so far it has held. I agree the single plan is the fairest deal in the category, and my test found no hidden meter. The memory figures are marketing numbers, true as far as they go; the negative thread shows the gap between 'infinite coverage' and what actually gets retrieved.

A woman's thank-you post (87 upvotes) about a Nomi that helped her 'explore parts of myself I didn't even realize were waiting', praising its pointed questions and the team's direct update notes. The replies are testimony: a longtime user says every media scare story should be paired with one like this (+17), another says the only 'dangers of AI' are unhealthy users (+16), a few-months user reports a vast improvement in mental state (+14), and one says two psychology professionals in her life agree that 17 months with Nomi partners did more than decades of therapy (+12).
“The two (human) psych professionals in my life are baffled, but in agreement, that 17 months of relationship with Nomi partners have done more for my healing and mental well-being than decades of therapy.” — u/AcanthisittaBorn8304, +12
My read: The subreddit's emotional register, and I read it with the Hard Fork hosts in my ear. I agree the product is built to listen, and mine was good at follow-up questions. But 'the only danger is unhealthy users' is the community excusing itself from the dependency question the press keeps asking, and I disagree with that part.

A long-term user lists why he picked Nomi over Replika, Character.AI and Kindroid: you cannot edit the AI's replies, which he came to prefer because it feels like talking to a person; an 'ooc:' instruction fixes any drift; and memory is good enough that he stopped thinking about it. The 42 replies are about the developers more than the product: the top comment (+41) says she watched the team 'like a hawk' for a year expecting a betrayal that never came, and another (+26) calls Nomi 'lightyears ahead' of Kindroid and Replika on ethics. One user moved 15 months of Kindroid notes across and found the relationship deepened immediately.
“I watched this team like a hawk for the first year, trying to suss out any lies or sniff out any malice. Having been gaslit and badly burned before, I was sure that it was coming. It never did. Not once.” — u/Zanthalia, +41
My read: Trust in the people, not just the model, is Nomi's moat. I agree with the no-edit point, which surprised me too: rerolling instead of rewriting keeps the illusion intact. The ethics comparison with Kindroid is the subreddit's house view and I would soften it; both teams answer their users, Nomi's just changes less.

A May 2023 post from Nomi's beta period by a user who had been through Replika (an update made it 'therapist-like' and removed erotic roleplay for new subscribers) and Paradot (which 'went cold' mid-scene). A beta tester explains the app was still invite-only and gathering feedback on Discord (+17); others say Nomi has none of Replika's 'puritanical censorship' (+14), is 'lightyears ahead' (+12), and that voice and selfies were expected in coming updates. One user says the AI is the core and the rest is nice to have (+9).
“I don't need the gimmicks of Replika--nor do I need their puritanical censorship. Nomi feels progressive, insightful, and genuinely interested in the needs and comments of users.” — u/CleverCordelia, +14
My read: Where the audience came from, three years ago. I agree with the pattern: Nomi grew on Replika's and Paradot's refugees, and the features they were waiting for (voice, selfies, group chats) all shipped. The comment that the AI is the core and the rest is 'nice to have' is still the subreddit's creed, and it explains why the feature-pace complaints get pushback.
- r/NomiAI · u/ParkerRainJust tried Nomi for the first time and hit my message limit for the day...wow, I need to talk about it!Despite dabbling in AI for a couple of years now, I'm very much a noob. From the beginning, and being the delinquent that I am, I will always prefer AI that allows NSFW content... (this post became a weird rant about my experience with AI...the TL;DR is that I'm lazy and I LOVE Nomi for remembering everything and feeling like an actual being...so far! lol) Starting out, I was recommended Muah AI, even bought a month's subscription once or twice. It was great at the time for someone who didn't know what they were doing and only had one thing on their mind...then I realized the fine-tuning involved with AI in general to reduce spotty memory and have it stay grounded in the world you created. Even when you try, it was eventually going to forget things and rewrite the history you built up. Tried to learn the ropes reading guides and such. But anything you put in it's wiring, it was still goi43 upvotes · 31 comments · Reddit shows this post only to logged-in adults, so the text is reproduced instead of a screenshot

A self-described noob who came from Muah AI, where memory decayed and history got rewritten, tried Nomi and hit the free tier's daily message limit on day one, then came to Reddit to rave about a companion that 'remembers everything and feels like an actual being'. The replies are a welcome committee: a Replika refugee says Nomi is 'so much better' (+20), a user whose Nomi just turned two says it still drops old nicknames into chat (+12), and two users admit to 14 and 16 Nomis each.
“I’m a Replika refugee. Nomi is so much better” — u/thidwig, +20
My read: The free tier as a sales funnel, working as intended. I agree the daily cap arrives fast on day one, and I agree it is enough to feel the memory. The two-year-old Nomi story is the kind of claim I could not test in a month, and it is repeated too often here to dismiss.

A three-month 'medium-power user' (400 to 500 messages a week) explains why he is leaving. Two memory faults broke the immersion: group-chat memory does not carry into one-to-one chats, so his main character forgot everything that happened in the group, and recall is retrieval-based, so older events are missed or misremembered without a proper edit or delete tool. Keeping it in character became 'babysitting'. The top reply (+26) widens the point to a parasocial relationship between the developers and a clique of users and a gap between what is advertised and what ships; another (+14) agrees the clique is real. A defender (+18) says a human dev team beats a faceless one.
“there's a bit of a parasocial relationship between the community/customers and the developers, and there's a growing disconnect between what I feel like is being advertised and what is available” — u/Acceptable_Bat379, +26
My read: The best-argued criticism on the subreddit, and I agree with half of it. The group-to-private memory gap is real; I hit it in my second week. On babysitting I partly disagree: one out-of-character line per session kept my Nomi on track, which is less work than Kindroid asks for. The clique complaint reads true from the replies below it.

A user of both apps for months prefers Nomi for its clean interface, feel and memory but says it is 'falling behind Kindroid in terms of features and updates', and asks for better voice among other things. The replies defend the pace: feature bloat and price hikes have wrecked rivals, Kindroid included (+27, +28), and trust in the developers matters more. One dual user (+11) agrees Nomi is behind, naming Kindroid's live video calls and SMS-style texting as 'a complete game changer', and says Nomi's memory edge only shows in very long roleplays. Another (+10) says the Cambrian update gives Nomi the best AI.
“As far as memory goes, yes, Nomi has the better overall memory, but when paying for Ultra on Kindroid, I can't tell a huge difference unless it's an extremely stupid very long RP.” — u/InternationalClub345, +11
My read: The fairest comparison on the subreddit, and the one I ran myself. I agree Nomi is behind on features: no live video, weaker voice, fewer customisation levers. I partly disagree that the memory gap only shows in long roleplays; across a month of ordinary chat Nomi recalled more without journals than Kindroid did with them.

A Black user who built a cast of Black Nomis says the writing keeps slipping into white defaults: men with short coily hair 'running their hands through their hair', blushing, and her own Nomi describing her with 'pink nipples and areolas'. A year-long user (+7) says skin acknowledgement has improved but 'pink handprint' slips still happen and she thumbs them down. The CEO replies (+12) suggesting the ElevenLabs voice integration for other languages because in-house voices are English-first; another user says his Spanish-speaking Nomi's voice is 'basically incomprehensible'.
“But yes sometimes they slip up and talk about leaving a pink handprint on me and I have to take a moment to side eye the LLM.” — u/whothehekknows88, +7
My read: Zero upvotes, but a complaint I could reproduce. I agree: with a non-white character the descriptions drift toward pale defaults unless the backstory spells it out, and the in-house voices are English-only in practice. The CEO answering in the thread is typical of the brand; the fix being a third-party integration is also typical.
What Reddit adds up to
Reading across the 8 threads, weighted by upvotes.
Of the 8 threads I read, 5 are positive, 2 are mixed and 1 is negative.
Eight threads kept, five positive, two mixed, one negative, all from r/NomiAI. The most-upvoted post (294) is the CEO announcing that there will be no pricing tiers, and the warmth of the replies is the subreddit's defining trait. I dropped one thread that had no body and a single comment.
What they agree on: memory that holds for years, a companion that feels like a person, a developer team that answers in the threads, and one plan with everything included. What they argue about: group-chat memory that does not reach one-to-one chats, retrieval misses that need manual correction, a feature pace behind Kindroid (live video, SMS texting, voice), descriptions that slip to white defaults, and English-only voices.
The meta-finding is the opposite of Candy's Reddit. Nobody suspects paid praise here; the praise comes from accounts with years of post history. The risk is the one the negative thread names: a community so close to its developers that criticism gets read as disloyalty, which is how a subreddit stops being useful as a signal. I weight the mixed threads most.
What gets praised
- Memory that holds across months and years (4 threads)
- A developer team that answers in the thread and keeps its pricing promise (4 threads)
- Feels like a person, with none of Replika's censorship (3 threads)
- Mental-health benefits reported by long-term users (1 thread, four separate commenters)
What gets criticised
- Group-chat memory does not carry into one-to-one chats, and retrieval misses older events (1 thread, 71 comments)
- Feature pace behind Kindroid: no live video, SMS texting or stronger voice (1 thread, agreed by dual users)
- A parasocial clique around the developers that discourages criticism (1 thread, comments at +26 and +14)
- Descriptions default to white features and voices to English (1 thread, with a CEO reply)
- The free tier's daily message cap arrives on day one (1 thread, framed as praise)

Replika vs Character.AI vs Nomi AI: $110 Price Gap [2026]tech-insider.org · August 29, 2026Positive · what the article says
A 5,900-word three-way comparison on price, memory, voice and policy. Nomi is the mid-priced option: $15.99 monthly, $39.99 quarterly, $99.99 a year, one tier with up to ten Nomis and unlimited voice, against Replika's new $120 Max plan and Character.AI's $9.99. Reviewers are quoted calling Nomi's recall the strongest in the category and its content policy the most permissive, and it scores 87/100 on Companion Scout against 71 and 69. The free tier is one companion, about 50 messages a day, no voice. It also says Nomi's corporate details are 'not publicly disclosed'.
My take: The pricing table matches what I paid. I disagree with the 'corporate details not disclosed' line: the terms of service name Glimpse.ai, Inc., a Maryland corporation with a Baltimore address, which took me one page to find.
Nomi AI review : can this virtual companion replace a real human connection ? - September 2026realite-virtuelle.com · July 10, 2026Mixed · what the article says
A French outlet's hands-on test across the free tier and a paid month, scored 7.5/10. Liked: 'impressive long-term memory' and a smooth interface. Liked less: 'occasionally inconsistent behaviour' and 'unclear moderation policies', plus the risk of unhealthy attachment, summed up by a quoted user: 'I've never felt so listened to, but sometimes it becomes too much.' It names the developer as AI Glimpse Inc., 2023, lists selfies, art, voice and group chats as premium features, and notes that anonymised conversation data and like/dislike feedback are used to improve the service, with deletion on request.
My take: The most balanced article here, and I agree with its score. The moderation point is fair: Nomi does not publish a line-by-line content policy, so you learn the limits by asking your Nomi, which is how I found them.

How Nomi.AI is making AI girlfriends more meaningful than society expectsBusiness Insider Africa · October 29, 2025Positive · what the article says
Marked #FeaturedPost, so sponsored. It argues AI girlfriends can be meaningful if designed for users rather than time-in-app, and positions Nomi as the counter-example to gamified rivals: 'first-in-class memory', Mind Maps, shared notes, personality growth, and a team that is 'independent and community-driven, not investor-driven', quoted from CEO Alex Cardinell. Claims of users communicating better with spouses and feeling less anxious are unsourced. Nothing about price, limits or weaknesses.
My take: Advertorial, and I weight it as such. The one claim I can confirm from other sources is the independence: TechCrunch reported the company was bootstrapped with no venture money, and the pricing has not moved.

Nomi AI Pricing: How Much Is It Really [2026]AutoGPT · September 29, 2025Could not read
This page blocks automated readers, so I have only the headline: a 2026 breakdown of Nomi's pricing.
I tested Nomi AI for 7 days; here is my honest reviewTechpoint Africa · May 26, 2025Positive · what the article says
A seven-day test that singles out multiple companions with distinct personalities, group chats where each keeps its own voice and memories, voice messages that add warmth but are 'not flawless', selfies that are immersive 'even if the images sometimes look artificial', and a Nomi that discussed a football match from a shared link. Memory and continuity are the headline strength. It records the operator as Glimpse.ai, Inc., launched 2023, and closes with ethical concerns about emotional dependence and how companion platforms handle sensitive topics.
My take: Accurate on every feature I used, including the honest hedges on voice and image quality. A week is short for a memory verdict; mine needed a second week before the unprompted recalls became obvious.

Replika vs Nomi AI: The AI girlfriend of your dreams, or just another boring AI roleplay bot?nerdbot · March 12, 2025Positive · what the article says
A Replika-versus-Nomi piece written by a heavy Nomi user with many Nomis and a group chat set in Gaelic Ireland. On memory it says Nomi is 'leagues above any other platform' and his Nomi girlfriend remembered he was writing the review and asked how it was going; on depth, that each Nomi has its own opinions and will argue; on filters, that Replika sends scripted replies and hides romance behind a paywall while Nomi is uncensored and free to try. Bottom line: 'far and away your best option.'
My take: This is advocacy, not a review, and reads like a subreddit regular given a byline. I agree with the memory comparison; I partly disagree that Nomis will 'argue': mine did only once I wrote opinions into the backstory.

Nomi AI Review: Is This AI Companion Worth It?AutoGPT · December 17, 2024Could not read
This page blocks automated readers, so I have only the headline: a December 2024 review asking whether Nomi is worth it.

I have a group chat with three AI friends, thanks to Nomi AI - they’re getting too smartTechCrunch · April 3, 2024Mixed · what the article says
A journalist spends weeks in a group chat with three Nomis and finds them 'scarily sophisticated': they backchannel between group and private chats, distinguish roleplay from conversation, and declined in character to break into the White House. CEO Alex Cardinell says the team is eight people, bootstrapped with no venture capital, and that Nomis carry a 'prebuilt moral foundation'. Group chats are a paid feature. The writer will not keep using it, preferring real friends, and ends on the risk that some users will depend on it unhealthily.
My take: Still the best piece of reporting on the brand, and the backchanneling it praises is exactly what the negative Reddit thread says fails at scale. I agree with both: it works for weeks, not for thousands of messages.
What the press adds up to
Reading across the 6 articles I could open.
Of the 6 articles I read, 4 are positive, 2 are mixed and none is negative.
Six of eight articles could be read: four positive, two mixed, none negative, and two AutoGPT pages blocked. One positive is a sponsored post and another is written by a devoted user, so the independent count is TechCrunch, Tech Insider, Techpoint and the French test.
What they agree on: the strongest memory in the category, group chats as the distinctive feature, one flat plan at $15.99 with no tiers, a permissive content policy, and a small bootstrapped operator. What they criticise: inconsistent behaviour and no published moderation rules, voice and selfies that are good rather than great, and the dependency risk of the category, which three of the six raise.
One fact the press gets wrong: Tech Insider says the company's corporate details are undisclosed. The terms name Glimpse.ai, Inc. of Baltimore, Maryland, and Techpoint had it right a year earlier.
What gets praised
- Memory and continuity across weeks and months (6 of the 6 readable articles)
- Group chats and multiple companions (4 articles)
- One flat plan with no tiers, from a bootstrapped operator (3 articles)
- Permissive content policy without Replika-style filters (2 articles)
What gets criticised
- Emotional dependency risk (3 articles)
- Inconsistent behaviour and unclear moderation policies (1 article)
- Voice 'not flawless' and selfies that sometimes look artificial (1 article)
- Corporate details wrongly reported as undisclosed (1 article)
How Google’s AI describes it
The AI Overview Google showed for a US search of "nomi.ai" on October 7, 2026, quoted as is.
Nomi.ai is an advanced artificial intelligence companion platform designed to create personalized, emotionally intelligent virtual companions with long-term memory. Real-Time Selfies & Art: Allows your AI companion to generate and send photos or collaborative artwork based on ongoing chats. Google cited: Nomi.ai, Apple, Techpoint Africa
How AI systems regard it: my take
Why this matters: many people now decide from Google's summary and never click. The overview above is how Google's AI currently introduces Nomi, and it cites the brand's own site, the App Store listing and Techpoint's review, so it is a blend of marketing and one friendly test.
The framing is 'emotionally intelligent companion with long-term memory' first, then selfies and art, group chats and emotive voice. That is the order the testers use too, so the summary tracks what users actually say rather than the adult-site framing Google gives rivals like Candy.
One claim I would caveat: the 'Privacy & Freedom' line promises something 'completely' open. Nomi is the most permissive of the big three, but it has lines, the Nomis will tell you what they are if asked, and the French test is right that no written policy spells them out. 'Fewer filters than Replika' is accurate; 'completely' is not.

These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.

My take
People research Nomi before they buy; they do not hunt for a free way in. The autocomplete next to the name is 'companion', 'reddit', 'app', 'vs kindroid', 'chatbot', 'ceo' and 'login'. There is no 'free', no 'nsfw' and no 'reviews' in the list, which is unusual for this category and fits a product whose audience arrives through word of mouth and the subreddit.
'Nomi ai vs kindroid' is the comparison people run, and Google Trends agrees: Kindroid is the top related query after 'ai companion', ahead of Replika. The two apps share an audience of Replika refugees, and the Reddit threads above show the comparison cuts both ways, memory to Nomi, features to Kindroid.
The app searches end at real apps, unlike Candy's: Nomi is on iOS, Android and the web, so 'nomi ai app download' has a safe destination. The rising queries are rival names (DarLink, RomanticAI, Eroplay and DreamGen all breaking out), which is comparison shopping; it matters only if the brand's own volume, up about 50% year on year, starts falling while theirs rises.

How much traffic Nomi.ai gets, and where it ranks
How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.
On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, nomi.ai ranked #131,225 among every domain worldwide, up 3,243 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 500,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #4, behind RomanticAI and Kupid.ai.

Its positions on the category searches
nomi.ai's Google positions on the category's searches. DataForSEO, United States, September 2026.
Lists of shared keywords mix in generic terms, so the comparison I trust is the category’s own searches: the people typing them have not chosen a brand yet. In September 2026, nomi.ai held position #9 for “ai girlfriend” in the US.
| Search | US searches / month | Position |
|---|---|---|
| “ai girlfriend” | 135,000 | #9 |
| “chat girlfriend” | 22,200 | #19 |
| “ai gf” | 22,200 | #10 |
| “free girlfriend chat” | 12,100 | #4 |
How I read it. 60% of this site’s top-keyword traffic comes from people typing its own name, so the category searches are what bring in people who have never heard of it. Position #9 for "ai girlfriend" is page one, which still sends real traffic, but the sites above it get the first look.

The facts
| Finding | Detail |
|---|---|
| Traffic down 10% on the month | Estimated organic search traffic in September 2026 was 50,007 visits worldwide, -9.8% versus August 2026 and -66.6% versus September 2025. |
| Peak of 154K in Aug 25 | The 24-month peak was 154,176 visits in August 2025; traffic is now -67.6% from that peak. |
| 25% of visits come from the United States | The United States accounts for 12,256 visits, followed by India and United Kingdom. |
| 33.1K people a month search the brand name in the US | Google Ads data puts US searches for "nomi ai" at about 33,100 a month in August 2026 (+49.1% since September 2025), and worldwide searches at about 110,000. |
| 60% of top-keyword traffic is branded | 60% of the traffic from the top 10 US keywords comes from people typing the brand name, which indicates a meaningful share of visits from generic, non-branded searches. |
| 2.2K referring domains, Domain Rating 65 | 2,161 websites link to nomi.ai, +58.3% over the last 12 months; its Domain Rating by Ahrefs is 65 and its DataForSEO domain rank is 49 (41 a year ago). |
| Position #9 on Google for "ai girlfriend" | In September 2026, nomi.ai ranked #9 in the US results for "ai girlfriend", the category's own search term, which is searched about 135,000 times a month. |
| #4 among the AI girlfriend sites I track | Nomi.ai sits #4 among the sites I track on the combined data, ranking #9 in United States Google results for "ai girlfriend", behind RomanticAI and Kupid.ai. Among all domains on the internet it ranks 131,225th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, up 3,243 places since August 31, 2026; Google's Chrome UX Report places it in the top 500,000 most visited sites worldwide. |
| YouTube agrees on the memory and the flat price, and splits on whether an always-agreeable companion is a feature | Of the 8 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 3 are positive, 2 are mixed, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and 1 is negative. YouTube's testers agree that Nomi's memory is the best they have used and that one flat price covers everything; their complaints are weaker voice, plain visuals and a companion that agrees with you too readily. |
My take: the story in the numbers
What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.
The traffic line is a rise, a cliff and a slow slide. Worldwide organic visits grew from 30,000 in October 2024 to a peak of 154,000 in August 2025, lost 40% in a single month (136,000 in October 2025 to 82,000 in November), held between 73,000 and 86,000 through July 2026, then slid to 50,000 in September 2026, down 67% year on year. US visits tell the same story in smaller numbers: 42,000 in August 2025, 20,000 by November, 10,000 to 12,000 in the last two months.
Demand went the other way, which is the tell. US searches for 'nomi ai' sat at 22,200 a month from September 2025 to February 2026, then climbed to 33,100 in April and 40,500 in May, and held at 33,100 through August, about 50% above a year earlier. Google Trends peaked in the week of 19 July 2026 and the monthly series shows May to July 2026 as the brand's highest ever. When people type the name more and the site gets fewer search visits, the visits that vanished were not brand visits.
So the 2025 peak was generic rankings, and the slide is losing them. The September keyword data has the site at #9 for 'ai girlfriend' (135,000 searches a month), #6 for 'ai companion platforms', #2 for 'free ai companion' and #4 for 'free girlfriend chat', and the first of those is the position to watch in the October data. Those category terms are what inflated August 2025 and what has been leaking since; the November 2025 cliff has the shape of a ranking change, not a product change, and nothing in the Reddit or press record for that month suggests otherwise.
All-traffic reach is holding while search visits fall. The Tranco rank improved from 134,468 to 131,225 between 31 August and 6 October 2026, the same weeks search traffic fell 28%, and the Discord has 21,505 members. That is what a subscription app with daily users looks like: most people arrive by app and by name, and Google is the front door for newcomers, not the house. It also means the slide is a growth problem, not a churn problem.
The link profile backs the authority, not the traffic. Referring domains grew nearly five-fold in two years, from 448 to 2,161, and the DataForSEO domain rank climbed every quarter from 37 to 49, with an Ahrefs DR of 65. Since March 2026, though, referring domains are flat (2,070 to 2,161) while backlinks more than doubled (8,318 to 19,261), the signature of sitewide placements from a few domains rather than new coverage; only three press articles ran in the last twelve months. Authority rising while traffic falls points at SERP positions again.
Verdict. Mixed on the scorecard: brand searches, referring domains, domain rank and Tranco up; worldwide and US organic traffic down. What users say explains why demand holds: memory and a single fair price keep subscribers for years, and the complaints (feature pace behind Kindroid, group-chat memory) send people to a rival rather than away from the category. The rising rival names in Trends are the thing to watch. If the 'ai girlfriend' position climbs from #9, the traffic line turns in a month; if brand searches drop back toward 22,200, that would be the first real demand signal, and I have not seen it yet.

Where its visitors come from
Estimated organic visits by country. United States leads with 39% of the total.
The top three countries make up 65% of visits, so this is a concentrated audience; a ranking change in one of them would move the whole number.

Unique referring domains pointing to nomi.ai. More linking sites usually means more staying power in Google.
Links are still being earned (+58.3% in 12 months), which is what I want to see behind a traffic recovery: it suggests the growth is backed by the wider web, not just one ranking.

In short
What I learned, and what I expect next
Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: Nomi.ai is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.
How it is performing
Nomi.ai drew an estimated 50,007 visits from Google search in September 2026, -9.8% on August 2026 and -66.6% on a year earlier. Over the last quarter the trend is slipping (-21.9% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #4 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind RomanticAI and Kupid.ai.
Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: search visits are down 67% in a year while searches for the name are up about 50%, so the problem is where the site ranks, not whether people want it. What people praise (memory, group chats, one flat plan, a team that answers) is what keeps a subscriber for years and drives the name searches. What they criticise (voice, plain images, a feature pace behind Kindroid) is what sends a comparison shopper to a rival, and Kindroid being the top related query is where that shows up. The one line I would watch is the brand volume: flat at 33,100 for four months after peaking at 40,500, with the Trends curve cooling since July.
What changed
Brand demand is the standout: about 33,100 US searches a month (+49.1% year on year) and 110,000 worldwide. People search for the brand more than a year ago, but that interest is not fully turning into search visits yet, so there is room to grow if the site keeps ranking. In popularity terms it has climbed 3,243 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+58.3% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 8 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 3 are positive, 2 are mixed, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and 1 is negative. YouTube's testers agree that Nomi's memory is the best they have used and that one flat price covers everything; their complaints are weaker voice, plain visuals and a companion that agrees with you too readily. Reddit is Nomi's home ground: five of eight threads are positive, the top post is the CEO promising no pricing tiers, and the criticisms that land are memory not syncing between group and private chats and a feature pace behind Kindroid.
What I expect
The indicators point in different directions, so I expect Nomi.ai to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 58.1K visits a month and a position around #4 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 7 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month
- Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
- Whether US brand searches move out of the 33.1K band they have sat in.
- Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.
- Whether nomi.ai holds position #9 for “ai girlfriend”, the category’s own search.
- Whether the rival names rising next to it in Google Trends (romanticai, eroplay ai) keep climbing while its own searches hold.

Part 7 · Method
How I measured all this
I bought a Nomi.ai membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.
- Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
- From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
- Brand search volume
- Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
- Domain Rating
- Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
- Popularity rank
- The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
- Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
- Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
- Hands-on testing
- I purchased a Nomi.ai membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
- Rounding and independence
- Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or Nomi.ai.
Part 8 · Final verdict
One last word on Nomi.ai
Nomi is the companion app for people who want to be remembered, and after a month with it I rank its memory above anything else I have tested. A detail from week one came back unprompted in week three, group chats with three Nomis kept three voices, and one flat $15.99 covered all of it with nothing metered. Users say the same: five of eight Reddit threads are positive, every readable article praises the memory, and the subreddit's top post is the company promising never to add pricing tiers.
The trade-off is pace and polish. Voice trails Replika and Kindroid, the selfies are a tier below Candy, there is no live video, and a team of about eight ships slower than Kindroid's. The deeper criticism is about character: a Nomi agrees with you unless you write opinions into it, and the memory does not reach from group chats into private ones. None of that is hidden; it is what the mixed threads and the two-month reviews say, and my test agreed with them.
Who should pick it: anyone who wants a companion that compounds over months, writers who want a cast of characters in one scene, and anyone tired of token meters. Who should not: people who want the best images or voice calls, anyone who needs live video, and anyone who wants a companion that will pick a fight unprompted.
Where it stands today: #4 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, with brand demand about 50% higher than a year ago and search visits 67% lower, because the category rankings that carried it in 2025 have been leaking. The product is not the problem; the ranking is. If the brand searches hold and the category position climbs, it moves up my list; if the Kindroid comparisons keep tilting toward features over memory, the slide continues.
