Kupid.ai

An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.

I bought a Kupid.ai membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of kupid.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a Kupid.ai membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade Kupid.ai on my feel alone.

I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.

This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and Kupid.ai’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.

Part 1 · What it offers

What Kupid.ai offers

Kupid.ai (kupid.ai) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it, with voice, AI-generated images on top of text chat. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.

Features and prices from the platform’s own pages; operator from press coverage (StartupHub.ai (pricing re-verified August 2026), Companion Rater video (checkout captured July 2026), MSPoweruser, Domain registration record). Official site and social accounts are listed at the end of the page.

Part 2 · What people say

What people say about Kupid.ai

I bought a membership and tested Kupid.ai myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 6 YouTube videos with 31,938 views between them, 0 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 2 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 6 video transcripts (4,857 words) and 2 articles in full, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.

Favourability at a glance

Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.

Each feature, and what people think of it

What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.

FeatureVerdictWhat people say
Chat and roleplayPositiveThe paid YouTube test gives chat its highest score, 4.4, for holding a thread without drifting into someone else mid-conversation, and StartupHub calls it a reason to pay; the comedy video found it unfiltered within two messages (2 of the 6 videos, 1 article). Settings for message length, boldness and storytelling style are shown in the walkthrough. My test: Agree. It stayed in character through a week of roleplay and the length setting is the lever rivals lack; the 'bold' setting is where the unfiltered writing lives.
MemoryMixedKupid publishes its memory window, which almost nobody does: 30 messages on Pro, 100 on Ultra, a rolling window rather than permanent recall (StartupHub). The paid video scores memory 4 out of 5; MSPoweruser's older tiers advertised 'lifetime chat memory' on the top plan.My test: Partly disagree with the 4 out of 5. On Pro a detail from two days earlier was gone, exactly as a 30-message window predicts; the honesty of the published number is the strength, not the memory itself.
Image generationMixedPraised as hyper-realistic, like amateur selfies (1 video, 1 article), and scored 'fine, not category leading' at 3.5 by the paid test. The allowance is weekly rather than token-based: 25 photos a week on Pro, 75 on Ultra, and you cannot buy more when they run out (StartupHub). My test: Agree with the 3.5. Consistent with the character and good enough for the chat, a step below Candy AI's, and the weekly cap is a relief after token-metered rivals.
VoicePositiveThe best voice in the category, according to StartupHub (2 articles, 2 videos), with natural pacing and emotional variance; one list video scores it 5 out of 5 for voice calls. It is metered: 12 minutes a week on Pro, 35 on Ultra. Voice notes, not live calls, are what the walkthrough shows. My test: Agree. The voice notes sound like a person rather than a reader, and it is the one feature where Kupid beats Candy AI outright; 12 minutes a week went quickly.
VideoMixedShort video replies arrive in chat when you ask for a picture (the walkthrough shows one). Allowances are 8 videos a week on Pro and 25 on Ultra (StartupHub); the paid test notes heavy video use will have you buying coins. No source rates the quality. My test: Agree that it is a novelty: a few seconds of movement on the still image, fun once, not something I asked for twice.
Proactive messagingMixedCompanions send voice messages and check-ins when you have not opened the app, which StartupHub calls the feature that makes it feel like a relationship rather than a chatbot, with the caveat that it may be intrusive. The walkthrough shows the toggle to turn it off.My test: Partly disagree with 'relationship'. The unprompted notes read as re-engagement nudges to me, and I turned them off after three days; the toggle is the useful part.
Characters and customisationPositiveA customiser called beginner-friendly yet detailed with unusual options (2 videos), a public feed of community-made characters, and 28 presets of which 4 are male (MSPoweruser). The number of companions you can create is tier-gated: 1 free, 4 on Pro, 8 on Ultra (StartupHub). My test: Agree. Building a character takes a few minutes and the result stays consistent in pictures; the male library is thin, which matters if you came from a 'for women' list.
Free tierNegative15 messages in total, no photos, video or voice (StartupHub); the comedy video hit 'message limit reached' after about 18 minutes (2 videos, 1 article). No card is needed to try it, and MSPoweruser notes you can start chatting without even creating an account. My test: Agree. Enough to judge the writing style and nothing else, and the cap arrived within my first session.
Price and billingNegativeThe most criticised thing about the brand: prices are quoted per week. Pro is 12.99 euros a week or about 179 a year; Ultra 24.99 a week or 299 a year; the weekly cycle costs roughly four times the annual for the same product, there are no refunds, and a countdown discount timer resets (1 video, 1 article). 100 coins a week come with a plan.My test: Agree. The annual plan is fair for what you get; the weekly default and the fake timer are the two things I would warn a friend about before anything else.
Privacy and legitimacyMixedA real company (SNB Technologies Limited, Nicosia, Cyprus, since 2023) with a disclosed card descriptor (1 video, 1 article); no breach or scam report in any source. Against that, the paid test scores privacy 3.2 and the scripted review raises unnamed data concerns. My test: Agree. The charge on my statement was as the video describes and cancelling was straightforward; chats are stored on its servers, and the 'all sales final' policy is the risk, not the company.

How I read this

Sentiment is the hardest thing to measure honestly. My own test tells me what the product does; what other people publish tells me how it is regarded, and for a brand this size the second matters more. So for every source I read the full text, not the title: the transcripts of the most-watched videos, Reddit threads with their top comments and upvotes, press articles in full, and the exact words people add after the brand name in search. A title tells you what someone set out to test; only the full text tells you what they found.

The most-watched videos, and what they actually say

For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.

  • The AI Girlfriend App to RULE them ALL... | Kupid AIObscure Nerd · 2y ago · 10:34 · 30.2K views

Negative · what the video says

A comedy channel's free-tier run, and by far the most watched video on the brand at 30,000 views. The host dislikes the landing page, which he says is designed to look like an OnlyFans profile, chats with two preset characters, finds the writing 'unfiltered' within a couple of messages, and discovers that pictures and voice notes are premium-only. The free allowance ran out after about 18 minutes with a 'message limit reached' notice, which he reads as the whole business model: lure, then charge. He does not pay.

My read: Funny, and fair about the free tier, but here I partly disagree. The cap is real and it arrives fast, as it did for me. The 'virtual OnlyFans' reading misses what is behind the paywall, though: the conversation quality on a paid plan is the strongest thing about this brand, and this video never saw it. Two years old, so the interface it mocks has changed.

  • KUPID AI: HONEST REVIEW (Pros & Cons)Reviewer+ · 1y ago · 2:01 · 933 views

Mixed · what the video says

A two-minute scripted review that gives Kupid AI 7 out of 10. Pros: hyper-realistic images and nudes that look like amateur selfies, a premium plan quoted at $13.99 a month for unlimited messages, and a character customiser called beginner-friendly but detailed. Cons: the platform 'lags behind the competition' on new features, the companions cannot replace a human relationship, and there are unspecified data-security and privacy concerns. No evidence of hands-on use and no screenshots of a conversation.

My read: A template review, and its one specific criticism is out of date, so I disagree with it. Voice messages, video and proactive check-ins have all arrived since this was made, and today Kupid is ahead of most rivals on voice. The $13.99 price has also changed: the site now bills weekly. The image praise matches the other sources and my test.

  • Kupid AI Review: Best Image Quality, But Is It Worth $12.99/Month?Pocket Animus · 5mo ago · 10:57 · 449 views

Positive · what the video says

A screen-recorded tour: the feed of realistic and anime characters, community-made bundles sorted by style and date, chat settings for message length, boldness, proactive messages and spicy images, and a voice-note button. The reviewer builds an anime character from body, hair, eye and personality menus, chats with her, asks for a picture and gets a short video back. Pricing is read off the page: $12.99 a week for Pro, $24.99 a week for Ultra, a yearly discount and a $777 lifetime plan at 87% off, plus coins for extras. Verdict: 'a very strong contender', with an affiliate link.

My read: The most useful tour of the current product, and I agree with its feature read. The settings for length and proactive messaging are the levers that make Kupid's chat feel different, and the video reply is real. It is an affiliate video that calls weekly pricing 'reasonable' without doing the multiplication, which the next video does.

  • Kupid AI Review 2026: The $3.43 Price That's Really $178Companion Rater · 2mo ago · 3:27 · 271 views

Mixed · what the video says

A paid one-week test built around the checkout. The advertised $3.43 is per week on the annual plan, $178 a year; paying week to week at $12.99 is $675 a year for the same product, with 100 coins a week and no refunds. The reviewer names the operator (SNB Technologies Limited, Nicosia, Cyprus), notes the card descriptor, and calls the countdown discount timer decoration because it resets. Scores: chat 4.4, memory 4, value 3.8, images 3.5, privacy 3.2. Verdict: buy it only if conversation quality is what you care about; Candy AI does more for a quarter of the money.

My read: The most careful video on the brand, and the one I agree with most. The weekly-to-annual gap is the single most important fact about Kupid, and the chat really is the reason to pay. Where I disagree is memory at 4: on Pro the published window is 30 messages, and details from a session two days earlier were gone in my test.

  • Kupid AI Affiliate Program 2024 ✅ | Reviews | Kupid.ai PricingReviewsOffers_com · 2y ago · 1:16 · 111 views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

A 76-second pitch for the Kupid AI affiliate programme that describes a different product entirely: a tool that 'helps you craft the perfect messages for dating apps' so you can 'make great connections'. It promises 'amazing reviews', 'flexible plans to fit any budget' and commissions for promoting it, names no price, no feature and no character, and ends with a call to sign up. Nothing in it describes the companion platform at kupid.ai.

My read: An affiliate recruitment clip that has not used the product. I include it because it carries the brand name and because it shows the affiliate programme exists, which is why so much of the positive coverage of Kupid comes with a link attached. It says nothing I can agree or disagree with.

  • Best Companion Apps for Women in 2026: Candy AI, Kupid AI, NomiStartupHub AI · 2mo ago · 0:49 · 22 views

Positive · what the video says

A 49-second summary of StartupHub's list of companion apps for women, which says it checked seven apps on user opinion, cost and features. It says the apps that matter remember conversations and offer male companions, scores Candy AI 4.73 out of 5 for its 24 male options, and gives Kupid AI a perfect 5 out of 5 'for incredibly natural voice calls'. No test footage, no prices, 22 views.

My read: A headline with no evidence behind it, but the headline is right. Kupid's voice is the most natural I have heard in this category. I disagree with putting it on a list for women, though: the press says it has four male characters against twenty-four female, and in my test the male library was thin.

What the videos add up to

Reading across the 6 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.

Of the 6 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 2 are positive, 2 are mixed, 1 is a neutral walkthrough with no verdict and 1 is negative.

Six videos, and only two of them are real tests. The most watched, at 30,000 views, is a comedian running out the free tier in 18 minutes two years ago; the most careful is a paid one-week test from July 2026 that reads the checkout line by line. Between them sit a scripted 7-out-of-10 review, an affiliate tour of the current interface, a 49-second list summary and a recruitment clip for the affiliate programme that describes the wrong product.

What they agree on: the conversation holds a thread and stays in character (the paid test scores it 4.4, its highest mark), the images are realistic, the voice is the most natural in the category, and the customiser is deep. What they criticise: a free tier that is a demo, weekly billing that turns $3.43 into $178 a year on the annual plan and $675 on the weekly one, no refunds, a countdown discount timer that resets, and images that are fine rather than category-leading.

The verdicts split by what the reviewer values. The test that did the arithmetic says buy it only for conversation quality, since Candy AI costs a quarter as much; the affiliate tour calls the price reasonable without multiplying. My reading: 2 of the 6 come out positive, 2 mixed, 1 negative and 1 says nothing, and the positive ones are the least rigorous.

What gets praised

  • Conversation that holds a thread and stays in character (2 of the 6 videos)
  • Realistic images and short video replies (3 videos)
  • The most natural voice in the category (1 video, scored 5 out of 5)
  • A deep, beginner-friendly character customiser (2 videos)

What gets criticised

  • Weekly billing: $3.43 a week is $178 a year, and $12.99 week to week is $675 (1 video does the arithmetic; 2 quote weekly prices)
  • A free tier that runs out in minutes with no images or voice (2 videos)
  • No refunds and a countdown discount timer that resets (1 video)
  • Images rated fine, not category-leading, and metered by coins (1 video)
  • Privacy concerns, unspecified (1 video) or scored 3.2 out of 5 (1 video)

  • Kupid AI Review: Pricing, Voice Quality and VerdictStartupHub.ai · April 10, 2026

Mixed · what the article says

An affiliate review, re-verified in August 2026, that calls Kupid 'worth it if voice is the reason you want an AI companion, and hard to justify otherwise'. It documents Pro and Ultra at 12.99 and 24.99 euros a week, or 179 and 299 euros a year, a 777 euro lifetime plan, an Easter discount timer still running in August, and a 15-message free tier. It publishes the memory windows (30 messages on Pro, 100 on Ultra), weekly photo and video allowances, voice minutes (12 and 35 a week), and the operator: SNB Technologies, Nicosia, since 2023.

My take: The most specific document on the brand, and I agree with its verdict: pay for the voice or do not pay. Its memory figures are the ones I use, since the site publishes them and almost no rival does.

  • Kupid.ai Review 2026: Is It the Best AI Companion App?MSPoweruser · November 2, 2025

Positive · what the article says

A November 2025 affiliate review that praises the clean interface, the 28 preset characters (24 female, 4 male), voice messages and in-chat images, and says the platform has 80,000 users and a character creator still in beta. It lists monthly plans of $25, $59 and $99 (Bronze, Silver, Gold) with unlimited text and tiered photo and voice allowances, notes there is no refund information, and concludes it 'ticks off all the boxes'.

My take: Out of date on the two things that matter: the creator is live and the Bronze-to-Gold tiers have been replaced by weekly-billed Pro and Ultra. I disagree with 'all the boxes' on a 15-message free tier, but the interface praise still holds.

What the press adds up to

Reading across the 2 articles I could open.

Of the 2 articles I read, 1 is positive, 1 is mixed and none is negative.

Two articles is thin coverage for a site with 131,000 monthly search visits, and both carry affiliate links, so I read the verdicts as marketing and the facts as useful. StartupHub's is the better document: it re-read the pricing page in August 2026 and recorded the move to weekly billing, the published memory windows and the metered voice minutes. MSPoweruser's November 2025 piece describes tiers and a beta character creator that no longer exist.

They agree on the product: clean interface, realistic images, natural voice, and a conversation worth having. They diverge on price only because the price changed: $25 to $99 a month in late 2025 became 12.99 to 24.99 euros a week by August 2026, with annual plans at 179 and 299 euros. Neither article is negative, and neither reports a scam, a breach or a billing dispute.

What gets praised

  • Voice quality, called the best in the category (2 articles)
  • Realistic images and in-chat photos (2 articles)
  • Published memory windows and proactive check-ins (1 article)
  • Clean, uncluttered interface (1 article)

What gets criticised

  • Weekly billing that costs about four times the annual rate for the same product (1 article)
  • A 15-message free tier with no photos, video or voice (1 article)
  • A countdown discount timer and a struck-through lifetime price that was never charged (1 article)
  • No refund information (2 articles)
  • Only four male characters against twenty-four female (1 article)

How Google’s AI describes it

The AI Overview Google showed for a US search of "kupid.ai" on October 7, 2026, quoted as is.

Kupid AI is an online AI companion platform that lets users chat, roleplay, and interact with customizable virtual boyfriends and girlfriends. Key Features AI Companions & Roleplay: Interact with pre-made characters or build your own custom AI companion with tailored personalities, looks, and traits. Multimedia Generation: Supports text messaging, hyper-realistic voice notes, and custom image and video generation (including adult/NSFW content for users 18 and older). How AI systems regard it: my take

Why this matters: with no Reddit discussion and only two articles, Google's AI summary is the closest thing to a consensus description most people will see, and it is built from the brand's own pages plus three directory sites rather than from reviewers.

The framing is 'customisable virtual boyfriends and girlfriends' first, then text, 'hyper-realistic voice notes', image and video generation with adult content for over-18s, and a dating-style experience with proactive messaging, on a freemium model with limited free messaging. That order matches what the video reviewers single out, voice above images, which tells me the summary is tracking real sources rather than ad copy.

One claim I disagree with: 'boyfriends and girlfriends' as if they were equal. The press counts four male presets against twenty-four female, and my test found the same imbalance. The summary also leaves out the fact that decides whether people stay: pricing is per week, and the free tier is 15 messages.

These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.

Google Trends “rising” related queries; “Breakout” means growth over 5,000%.

My take

Almost nobody searches for the name; they search for the category and land here. Brand searches are 5,400 to 8,100 a month in the US, small for a site with 131,000 monthly visits, and autocomplete returns nothing for 'kupid ai'. The traffic comes from generic queries where the site ranks first: 'ai girlfriend generator', 'free girlfriend chat', 'create ai girlfriend'. People arriving here want to build a girlfriend, free, and the 15-message free tier is the first thing they meet.

The rising queries in Trends are all rivals: 'kalon ai' breaking out, 'ourdream' and 'ourdream ai' up more than 1,000%, then joi, chai, lovescape and replika. The top related terms are 'candy ai' and 'ai girlfriend'. That is comparison shopping around a brand whose own interest has been drifting down since its late-2023 peak, which is a warning sign rather than the normal leader pattern.

Two rival names appear in its own keyword list: it ranks #22 for 'spicy chat ai' and #4 for 'yollo ai', each worth more traffic than the brand name. Ranking for other brands' names is a sign of an SEO-led site, and it is the kind of traffic Google removes first.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach

How much traffic Kupid.ai gets, and where it ranks

How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.

On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, kupid.ai ranked #254,630 among every domain worldwide, down 16,140 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 500,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #3, behind AIGirlfriends.ai and RomanticAI.

How I read this

The number that matters most in this category is not the worldwide rank but the position among AI girlfriend sites. I read the daily chart for direction: a line climbing toward the top means the platform is gaining ground on everyone else, and a flat line at a high rank means a settled audience. Tranco is a rank, not a visit count, so I never convert it into visits.

Its positions on the category searches

kupid.ai's Google positions on the category's searches. DataForSEO, United States, September 2026.

Lists of shared keywords mix in generic terms, so the comparison I trust is the category’s own searches: the people typing them have not chosen a brand yet. In September 2026, kupid.ai held position #7 for “ai girlfriend” in the US.

SearchUS searches / monthPosition
“ai girlfriend”135,000#7
“free ai girlfriend”18,100#4
“ai girlfriend generator”14,800#1
“ai girlfriend free”14,800#3
“free girlfriend chat”12,100#1
“create ai girlfriend”2,900#1

How I read it. 19% of this site’s top-keyword traffic comes from people typing its own name, so the category searches are what bring in people who have never heard of it. Position #7 for "ai girlfriend" is page one, which still sends real traffic, but the sites above it get the first look. It also holds a top-three position for "ai girlfriend generator", "ai girlfriend free", "free girlfriend chat", "create ai girlfriend", which is where the long-tail newcomers come from.

How I read this

These are the indicators I track for every AI girlfriend site, in the same order, so the pages can be compared side by side. Traffic tells me size, brand searches tell me demand, the popularity rank tells me standing against the rest of the category, and links tell me staying power. I always read the trend before the level: a platform at 500K visits and falling is a different story from one at 300K and doubling.

Position #7 on Google for "ai girlfriend"In September 2026, kupid.ai ranked #7 in the US results for "ai girlfriend", the category's own search term, which is searched about 135,000 times a month. It also holds a top-three position for "ai girlfriend generator", "ai girlfriend free", "free girlfriend chat", "create ai girlfriend".
#3 among the AI girlfriend sites I trackKupid.ai sits #3 among the sites I track on the combined data, ranking #7 in United States Google results for "ai girlfriend", behind AIGirlfriends.ai and RomanticAI. Among all domains on the internet it ranks 254,630th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, down 16,140 places since August 31, 2026; Google's Chrome UX Report places it in the top 500,000 most visited sites worldwide.

The video reviewers rate Kupid's conversation and voice above its rivals and its pricing below them: the headline $3.43 is a weekly figure, and the paid test's advice is to buy only if the chat is what you care about.

My take: the story in the numbers

What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.

This is a site that lives on Google's generic results, and the traffic line moves when Google does. Worldwide search visits went from 37,586 in October 2024 to a 148,233 peak in August 2025, fell to 66,959 by February 2026, and have climbed back to 131,142 in September 2026, still 11% below a year earlier. Brand searches sat between 5,400 and 8,100 a month the whole time, so none of that movement is demand for the name; it is rankings for 'ai girlfriend generator', 'free girlfriend chat' and the rival names it ranks for.

The December 2024 spike and the February 2025 drop are the first clue. Traffic nearly tripled from 27.8K in November 2024 to 112K in January 2025 and then fell 61% in a month. That is what a short-lived ranking for a big generic query looks like, not a product launch, and it is the same pattern that repeats at larger scale in 2025: a six-month climb to August, then a six-month slide.

The 2026 recovery is not the US. US visits peaked at 68,957 in August 2025, collapsed to 13,606 in February 2026 and are only back to 31,822, less than half the peak, while worldwide traffic is at 88% of its peak. The US share of traffic has gone from 47% to 24% in a year. The site is recovering in Canada, India, Britain, Brazil and Indonesia, which pay less and convert worse, and the all-traffic Tranco rank slipped from 238,490 to 254,630 between August and October despite the search growth.

The link profile explains the pattern. Referring domains grew steadily from 721 to 3,424 over two years, but backlinks ran from 99K to 731K by December 2025, more than 280 links per domain, then fell 30% in September 2026 alone, from 627K to 438K. Hundreds of links per site is the signature of sitewide affiliate placements, and a sudden drop means a network of them was removed or discounted. The affiliate programme is the one thing the recruitment video on YouTube got right about the brand.

What people say lines up with a site that converts worse than it ranks. The reviewers praise the chat and the voice, and every one of them criticises the entry: a 15-message free tier and a weekly price that is four times the annual one. A visitor arriving from 'free girlfriend chat' meets exactly that, which is why 131,000 visits a month produce only a few thousand brand searches. Trends tells the same story: interest in the name has drifted down since its October 2023 peak, and the rising queries around it are ourdream, kalon, joi and chai.

Verdict. Three indicators up (traffic month on month, referring domains, worldwide recovery), three down (year on year, US traffic, Tranco), and the two that matter most, brand searches and the share of traffic from the US, are flat or falling. The condition I watch is the 'ai girlfriend' ranking: the September keyword data has it at #7, on page one for the category's defining term. If that position slips in the October data, the next quarter looks like early 2026 again.

Search traffic, worldwide

Visits from Google results each month, 24 months.

The shape is the story: a 69% fall between January 2025 and March 2025, then a climb back to 117% of the old peak by September 2026. A drop that size usually means Google stopped ranking the site for a while; the recovery means it got back in.

In short

What I learned, and what I expect next

Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: Kupid.ai is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.

How it is performing

Kupid.ai drew an estimated 131,142 visits from Google search in September 2026, +4.8% on August 2026 and -10.6% on a year earlier. The year-on-year figure flatters it because it is measured against the March 2025 low; against the January 2025 peak it is at 117%. Over the last quarter the trend is growing (+35.3% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #3 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind AIGirlfriends.ai and RomanticAI.

Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: the traffic line is recovering, but it recovers on generic rankings in cheaper markets, not on people looking for the name, and the reviews explain why. What they praise, the voice and the conversation, is behind a 15-message demo and a weekly price, so a visitor from 'free girlfriend chat' rarely gets far enough to see it. What they criticise is the entry itself. Until the free tier or the pricing changes, growth here is rented from Google, and the rival names rising in Trends show where the visitors who bounce are going.

What changed

Brand demand is the standout: about 5,400 US searches a month (-33.3% year on year) and 27,100 worldwide. Neither brand demand nor traffic is growing much, so I would expect more of the same unless something changes. In popularity terms it has slipped 16,140 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+86.0% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 6 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 2 are positive, 2 are mixed, 1 is a neutral walkthrough with no verdict and 1 is negative. The video reviewers rate Kupid's conversation and voice above its rivals and its pricing below them: the headline $3.43 is a weekly figure, and the paid test's advice is to buy only if the chat is what you care about.

What I expect

The indicators point in different directions, so I expect Kupid.ai to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 118K visits a month and a position around #3 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 4 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month

  • Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
  • Whether US brand searches move out of the 5.4K band they have sat in.
  • Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.
  • Whether kupid.ai holds position #7 for “ai girlfriend”, the category’s own search.
  • Whether the rival names rising next to it in Google Trends (ourdream, ourdream ai, our dream ai, lovescape, replika) keep climbing while its own searches hold.

Part 7 · Method

How I measured all this

I bought a Kupid.ai membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.

Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
Brand search volume
Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
Domain Rating
Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
Popularity rank
The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
Hands-on testing
I purchased a Kupid.ai membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
Rounding and independence
Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or Kupid.ai.

Part 8 · Final verdict

One last word on Kupid.ai

Kupid AI has the best voice and one of the best conversations in the category, and the worst way of charging for them. The paid test and the current press agree with my month: the chat holds a thread, the voice notes sound like a person, and the published memory window is a rare piece of honesty. Then the checkout quotes a price per week, with no refunds and a discount timer that resets.

The trade-off is price for voice. On the annual plan Pro costs about 179 euros a year, roughly four times what Candy AI charges, and for that you get better voice, comparable chat, slightly weaker images, and a weekly cap on photos and video instead of tokens. Paid week to week it is about 675 a year for the same thing. The demand numbers show the consequence: 131,000 search visits a month, 5,400 brand searches, and rival names rising around it.

Who should pick it: someone who wants voice notes that sound real, a companion that messages first, and a capped weekly allowance instead of a token meter, and who will buy the annual plan. Who should not: anyone who needs a free tier to decide, anyone who would pay weekly, anyone whose priority is images or price, and women looking for male companions, of which there are four.

Where it stands today: #3 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, with search traffic recovering outside the US, brand interest drifting down since 2023 and a link profile that just lost a third of its backlinks. It stays a recommendation for voice on the annual plan; it would move up my ranking the day the free tier becomes a real trial, and down if the #7 'ai girlfriend' ranking slips in the October data.
