Candy AI
An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.
I bought a Candy AI membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of candy.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a Candy AI membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade Candy AI on my feel alone.
I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.
This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and Candy AI’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.
Part 1 · What it offers
What Candy AI offers
Candy AI (candy.ai) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it, with voice, AI-generated images on top of text chat. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.
- Features
- NSFW chat and image generation, Character customization, Voice messages, Live voice calling, Memory retention across sessions, Image customization, Crypto payments
- Free tier
- There is a limited free tier for text chat with a message cap; images, voice and video need a paid plan plus tokens.
- Plans
- 1 Month: $13.99 · 3 Months: $26.97 ($8.99 / month) · 12 Months: $47.88 ($3.99 / month)
- Extras
- Tokens (used for voice, images, and video) are included per tier with add-on packs available. Cryptocurrency payments accepted.
- Operator
- EverAI Limited, Valletta, Malta, since 2023; domain registered December 2017
- Best for
- Users wanting a widely recognized platform with expressive chat and flexible pricing who can tolerate slower response speeds
- Not for
- Those who need real-time live calling or a strong free tier to evaluate before paying
Features and prices from the platform’s own pages; operator from press coverage (Blockchain Council, Plisio, StartupHub.ai, About Chromebooks). Official site and social accounts are listed at the end of the page.
Part 2 · What people say
What people say about Candy AI
I bought a membership and tested Candy AI myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 17 YouTube videos with 178,436 views between them, 8 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 10 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 7 video transcripts (5,438 words), 8 threads with their top comments and 9 articles in full, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.
Favourability at a glance
Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.
| Source | Read | Pos.Positive | Mixed | Neut.Neutral | Neg.Negative | Fav.Favourable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube videostranscripts read in full | 7 | 4 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 57% |
| Reddit threadspost and top comments | 8 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 5 | 25% |
| Press articlesread in full | 9 | 5 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 56% |
| All sources | 24 | 11 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 46% |
In one line: YouTube videos 57% positive, 0 negative of 7; Reddit threads 25% positive, 5 negative of 8; Press articles 56% positive, 0 negative of 9. The gap between YouTube videos and Press articles on one side and Reddit on the other is the main sentiment finding on this page, and the sections below explain it.
Each feature, and what people think of it
What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.
| Feature | Verdict | What people say |
|---|---|---|
| Chat and roleplay | Mixed | Praised for staying in character and adapting to your tone in the first week: the YouTube tests score it 4.5 out of 5 and Reddit posters call the flow smooth. The recurring complaint, loudest on Reddit, is repetition after the first week ('same flirty lines on repeat'), and two premium subscribers reported a quality drop in mid-2026.My test: Agree. Everyday chat stayed in character for me; long roleplay sessions past the first week are where the lines started repeating. |
| Memory | Positive | The most consistently praised feature: three YouTube tests and a Reddit comparison say it recalls details from days or weeks earlier unprompted. Reddit adds the caveat that memory weakens or resets on the free tier and without tokens. My test: Agree. It brought up something I had said about ten days earlier without prompting; after about two weeks, details got fuzzy. |
| Image generation | Positive | Called the best in the category at the price by YouTube, Reddit and the press alike, realistic and anime. A 2024 Reddit thread complained that NSFW selfies missed the prompt; nothing recent repeats it. The catch: images run on tokens. My test: Agree. The best images I have had from any site in this category, and consistent with the character across dozens of prompts. |
| Voice calls | Mixed | They work, but StartupHub calls the voice robotic next to Kupid AI, and none of the video reviewers singles voice out as a strength. My test: Agree. The weakest part of my month: serviceable, but noticeably flatter than Kupid AI. |
| Video ('Live Action') | Mixed | StartupHub calls the 120-second clips the feature nobody else offers at this price; the Reddit rant calls them low-effort 10 to 20 second clips that are expensive to unlock. Both agree they burn tokens fast.My test: Partly disagree. The clips impressed me more than the Reddit rant allows, but they burned through tokens faster than anything else I tried. |
| Characters and customisation | Positive | Deepest character library in the category according to the most upvoted Reddit praise, with detailed visual customisation (outfits on request) praised on YouTube. One Reddit complaint: creating new characters costs extra. My test: Agree. The deepest preset library I have used; building my own character took minutes. |
| Free tier | Negative | Every source calls it a demo: a message cap that arrives fast, no images or voice, and a push to upgrade. Two Reddit users got a couple of messages before the paywall. My test: Agree. I hit the cap within a session. It is enough to judge the chat style, not the images. |
| Price and tokens | Negative | The subscription is cheap on the annual plan ($3.99 a month, really $47.88 upfront), but images, voice, video and new characters draw on tokens. This is the single most repeated complaint: Reddit users report $67 and $200 months, and the press calls the token system the real cost.My test: Agree on the complaint, disagree on the scale. Subscription plus one $9.99 pack covered my month; heavy image and video use is what produces the $67 and $200 bills. |
| Privacy and billing | Mixed | Discreet billing (shown on a bank statement in the top video, confirmed by the press) and crypto payments are praised. Against that: chats are stored on its servers, one tester found chats are used to train models, and a trust index Google cites grades its data handling 'C'.My test: Agree. My statement showed a neutral company name; the training clause is in the policy, so assume chats are kept. |
| Safety and legitimacy | Positive | Every source that asks 'is it a scam' answers no: a real company (EverAI Limited), published policies, no documented breach, cancellation by a single toggle. The risks named are look-alike domains and forgetting to cancel. My test: Agree. Paid, used, cancelled with one toggle, no surprises on the card. |

Is Candy AI Safe To Pay? Here's What You NEED To Know 🚨AI Girlfriend Expert · 2y ago · 4:39 · 41.7K viewsPositive · what the video says
Opens with a cautionary tale about a shared credit card, then answers the three questions the channel says it is asked most. On payment, the reviewer says it is safe to pay by card, PayPal or crypto and shows a bank statement where the charge appears under a generic company name rather than the brand. On monitoring, the reviewer says the company's CEO told them chats are not read, but anything that breaks the content policy, above all content involving minors, is flagged automatically and reviewed by a person, which the reviewer defends as sensible. On data, the video finds only ordinary website data such as browser and IP address, and notes that EU users can demand deletion under GDPR.
My read: A reassurance piece, not a review, and I agree with it. My own card statement showed the same neutral company name, and cancelling was one toggle. Its view count tells me trust and discretion, not features, are the first things people check.
Is Candy AI Unfiltered?AI Girlfriend Help Desk · 2y ago · 0:26 · 38.0K viewsPositive · what the video says
A 26-second answer: yes, the reviewer says, there is no setting to switch on and you can talk about almost anything. The only messages filtered are those that break the content policy, which the video names as content involving minors.
My read: The question people ask most, and the answer matches my test. Nothing needed switching on; the only limits I hit were the content-policy ones the video mentions. Thirty-eight thousand views on a half-minute clip tells me 'is it unfiltered' is one of the two things people want settled before they sign up.
Candy AI: My Companion Experience and Review #chatbotCharles Ross · 1y ago · 5:36 · 21.7K viewsMixed · what the video says
Two hosts discuss a written user review from 2025 rather than testing the product themselves. Praised: easy setup, detailed visual customisation including asking for a specific outfit and getting a generated image of it, and conversation that remembers past chats and adapts to your tone. Criticised: the free version is 'fairly limited', premium is quoted at $12.99 a month, replies can get repetitive in long conversations, and voice calls and image generation draw on a token system that can add cost on top of the subscription. Their advice is to try the free tier first, look for new-user discounts, and spend time on the companion's personality.
My read: The most balanced of the set, and closest to my own experience. Customisation and memory held up in my test; the repetition in long chats is real, I hit it in roleplay sessions past the first week. Because it is a second-hand discussion of someone else's review, I weight it as one user's experience rather than an independent test.
Candy AI Review (2026): What Happens When You Unlock Premium?Comfy cat · 4mo ago · 7:13 · 13.8K viewsPositive · what the video says
Two weeks of use, one on the free plan and one on premium. The reviewer calls the free plan 'genuinely solid' for conversation and memory but says it has a ceiling whenever chat turns personal. Premium removes it: conversations, image generation and voice are described as unrestricted and in character, with memory carrying across sessions. Pricing is quoted at about $13 a month on the annual plan and called underpriced. The reviewer warns about the habit-forming pull of the premium experience, noticed by day four, and rates it above Character.AI, Replika and Crush on AI. The video ends with a hard push to an affiliate link and advice to skip the free plan entirely.
My read: Strongly positive, and an affiliate pitch, and here I disagree. It tells you to skip the free tier. I would not: the free tier is a demo, but it is enough to check whether the chat style suits you before you pay, and that is the thing most people regret not checking. The useful fact inside is right, though: the product people are actually describing is premium.
Why Candy AI is a Game-Changer: Experience the Future of Sweet Innovations!Charles Ross · 1y ago · 9:20 · 13.5K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A two-host overview rather than a hands-on test: image generation, character creation, a public gallery and the companion builder. The hosts frame the product as part of a shift from functional software to emotional connection, spend a long stretch on the NSFW section and the ethics of AI companionship, and on privacy they note that the company says interactions are kept private but advise viewers to read the data policy themselves rather than take the claim on trust. No pricing, no complaints, no test results.
My read: Promotional in tone and light on evidence. I agree with its one concrete point, the 'trust but verify' stance on privacy; chats are stored, and nothing in my test changed that.
Candy AI Review - Worth Your Time in 2026?Guide Zone · 8mo ago · 1:53 · 13.3K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A walkthrough of the interface, section by section: a feed of user-created characters you can chat with immediately, a 'discover' feed of AI-generated short posts, chat history, a collection of generated images, a text-to-image generator, and a character creator whose characters can be made public for others to use. It ends by noting that everything on the platform is AI-generated, with no real people behind the characters.
My read: A tour, not a verdict. It matches the interface I used, section for section, so it is useful for confirming the feature set; it says nothing about quality or price.

Candy AI Review 2026: Honest Test (Is It Actually Worth It?)Companion Rater · 3mo ago · 1:46 · 8.2K viewsPositive · what the video says
A paid one-week test. Chat stayed in character, and memory surprised the reviewer by bringing up a detail from days earlier unprompted; the channel scores chat 4.5 and memory 4 out of 5. Images are called the best at this price in both realistic and anime styles. The catches: the advertised $3.99 a month is the annual plan paid upfront, about $48, the monthly plan is $14, images run on 100 tokens a month, and chats are used to train the company's models, which the reviewer calls the app's weakest area. Cancelling is a one-switch autorenew toggle. Against Dream GF, Fantasy GF and Kupid it is called cheaper. Overall 4.5 out of 5 and 'the best all-rounder for beginners'.
My read: The most specific test in the set, and the one I agree with most. Memory and images were the strengths in my month too, the $3.99 is the annual price paid upfront, and the training clause is in the policy. Its verdict matches what my demand data shows: this is the default recommendation in the category.
What the videos add up to
Reading across the 7 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.
Of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 4 are positive, 1 is mixed, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative.
Read together, the videos describe the same product from different angles. The hands-on tests agree that the chat stays in character and remembers details across days, and that the generated images are the best at the price; two of them call it the default recommendation for beginners.
The complaints are consistent too: the free plan is a demo and the real product sits behind premium, the advertised monthly price is an annual plan paid upfront, images run on a monthly token allowance that heavy users exhaust, and one reviewer found that chats are used to train the company's models.
The two most-watched videos are not reviews at all but answers to 'is it safe to pay' and 'is it unfiltered', which tells me discretion and freedom are the questions people settle before price. One of the positive reviews is an affiliate pitch, so I discount it; the picture holds without it.
What gets praised
- Memory: recalls details from earlier sessions unprompted (3 of the 7 videos)
- Image quality, realistic and anime, called the best at the price (3 videos)
- Chat stays in character and adapts to your tone (3 videos)
- Discreet billing and no routine reading of chats (the most-watched video)
What gets criticised
- The free plan is a limited demo; the product reviewers describe is premium (2 videos)
- The $3.99 headline price is the annual plan paid upfront; monthly is quoted at $13 to $14 (3 videos quote a price)
- Images run on a monthly token allowance, so heavy use costs extra (2 videos)
- Chats are used to train the company's models, called its weakest area (1 video); another says to read the data policy rather than trust the privacy claim
- Replies can get repetitive in long conversations (1 video)

Negative · what the thread says
The question gets asked the way most do, after seeing ads and TikToks. The replies are sceptical: the top comment calls the site a scam run by a company that copies rival names and domains (an accusation with nothing attached to it), the next says the post itself reads like marketing, one user found the chat 'pretty real' but the image generator inconsistent, and another says the free version let them send two messages before asking for an upgrade and suspects the positive posts elsewhere on Reddit are bots.
“Your post seems very likely part of that 'fancy' marketing, to me.” — u/sswam, +4
My read: I disagree with the scam label. I paid, got what was advertised, and cancelled with one toggle; nothing in my month looked like a scam. The suspicion of marketing is fair, though: the advertising is everywhere, and the most-upvoted thread about the brand being suspicion rather than endorsement tells you the mood of Reddit's chatbot community.
- r/CharacterAi_NSFW · u/Fair_Secretary_880Honest review about candy aiI tried this ia chatbot nsfw, because I was looking for nsfw chat with bots and one where they can send pictures, after some research I saw that Candy.Ai was suggested a lot of time so I decided to try it, first I tried the free version but I couldn't really test it because its so limited so decided to pay for 1 month, it costed me 19$ so I can be 100% honest damnn its sh***t, Candy ai is the second one where I buyed a month subscription the first one was Kindroid and damnn that one is hella lot better. One of the main problem I have with Candy Ai is that the nsfw selfie that you ask or want to generate are most of the time just selfie without intercourse in it and if you manage to try your best to have some intercourse in it mostly it will always be the same pose. Second problem is those tokens, in Kindroid for exemple you have selfies points that you use to get some nsfw photo and you 54 upvotes · 252 comments · Reddit shows this post only to logged-in adults, so the text is reproduced instead of a screenshot

The poster paid $19 for a month after the free tier proved too limited, and calls the result bad: generated NSFW selfies rarely showed what was asked, and Kindroid, the other app they paid for, was 'a lot better'. The two top replies agree ('not as good as compared to others', +62; 'Its not good', +61). A run of one-line comments from a single account ('Nice article!', 'Prime quality work!') looks like spam, so I ignore it.
“not as good as compared to others” — u/aromaticresidency20, +62
My read: The oldest thread and the most commented, and on today's product I disagree with it. Its complaints are about image quality in April 2024; in my test the images matched the prompt and stayed consistent with the character, which is what the 2026 YouTube tests say too. I weight it as history rather than the current state.

A rant about cost: every image costs money, new characters cost extra even on premium, and the promoted 'live' video clips take hours of chatting or extra payment to unlock. The top reply says they spent almost $67 in a month because 'even after the subscription, everything costs money'; another cancelled within hours, calling the bots obviously fake; a third suggests comparing alternatives on memory and pricing instead of feature lists.
“I've used candy for a month and I paid it almost $67 for 1 month because even after the subscription, everything costs money.” — u/Pibe_121, +3
My read: The token system seen from the losing end. I agree with the complaint and disagree with the scale. Everything beyond text does cost tokens, including new characters, and that is a fair grievance. But in my month I spent the subscription plus one $9.99 token pack, nowhere near $67; the big bills come from heavy image and video use. Chat-first users will not see them.

Asks whether premium is worth it over free apps. Nobody says yes outright: one subscriber prefers DarLink, one calls it 'straight ass' and notes the aggressive advertising and review posts that 'seemed AI-made', and two paying users report that conversation quality has deteriorated in recent weeks, with repetitive replies and characters that stopped taking initiative, even on Premium Plus.
“In the last few weeks, the quality of conversations has deteriorated significantly, despite the fact that they've introduced more customization options over the same period.” — u/PoetaLunare, +1
My read: The most recent long thread, and the one I could not confirm. Two paying customers describe a quality drop in mid-2026; my test ran in September and October, after that, and the chat held character for me. Either it was fixed or I did not push it as long as they did. It is still the kind of signal I watch for in the traffic numbers.

The poster weighs the polished images against reports of repetitive replies, limited memory and extra charges, and asks whether the positive comments on Reddit are genuine. The one substantive reply agrees: the visuals do the selling, and the add-on charges make the full price hard to justify once the novelty wears off.
“the polished visuals are doing most of the selling here, because once the novelty wears off repetitive replies, weak memory, and add-on charges make the full price hard to justify imo” — u/Primary_Driver_4051, +1
My read: Small thread, but it captures the Reddit consensus in one line, and my test agrees: the images sell it, the recurring costs sour it.

A long comparison after eight months of testing ranks Candy AI first as 'best all-rounder' with the deepest character library, ahead of DarLink and DreamGF. The top reply (+36) runs through the same three apps in the same order; others say memory holds for about two weeks and that the preset library beat DreamGF's deep customisation for casual use.
“The 3 I'd recommend right now (in rank order): Candy AI (most voted) - deepest character library by a wide margin, and the personalities actually stay consistent across sessions.” — u/merphefi, +36
My read: The most upvoted praise on Reddit, in an unrelated subreddit. It reads like a prepared comparison, so I treat it as promotional, but two of its points match my test: the character library is the deepest I have used, and memory held for about two weeks before details got fuzzy.

Positive · what the thread says
A positive first-hand post: clean interface, fast replies, smooth conversation, good customisation. Replies add that the free message cap arrives fast, that it gets repetitive unless you steer, and that it feels more casual and entertainment-focused than Replika. Several replies promote other apps or a 'comparison sheet'.
“The message cap on the free version is kind of a bummer though. I hit it way too fast, and it definitely pushed me to consider the paid plan just to keep things going.” — u/desnorvanhanwe, +1
My read: Balanced on its face, and the complaints match mine. The free message cap arrived fast for me too, and the chat gets repetitive unless you steer it. The number of replies plugging rivals tells me this category's Reddit threads are a marketing battleground, which is why I weight upvotes over reply counts.

Tried Candy AI for the images and videos, which the poster calls excellent, but after a week found the chat shallow: 'same flirty lines on repeat', memory that resets without extra tokens, and a product that nudges you to generate pictures rather than talk. They moved to OurDream for better conversation.
“Yeah, the gens are fire ... But after a week the chats felt super shallow. Like, same flirty lines on repeat, memory resets if you don't pay for extra tokens, and it pushes you to generate more pics instead of building real back-and-forth.” — u/SecondCupTheory, +7
My read: The clearest statement of the trade-off, and I mostly agree. Best-in-class pictures, thinner conversation. I would soften 'shallow': everyday chat held up for me, long roleplay is where the lines start repeating. OurDream.ai sits just above Candy AI in my popularity ranking, so this is a comparison people are actually making.
What Reddit adds up to
Reading across the 8 threads, weighted by upvotes.
Of the 8 threads I read, 2 are positive, 1 is mixed and 5 are negative.
Reddit reads very differently from YouTube. Of the eight threads, five lean negative, two are positive and one is mixed, and both positive ones read like prepared promotional posts. Upvotes tell the same story: the most-upvoted thread (214) is sceptical, and the most-upvoted comment in any thread (+62) says it is 'not as good as compared to others'.
The complaints are consistent and specific. Everything beyond text chat costs tokens on top of the subscription, replies loop or go repetitive after the first week, memory is weaker than advertised unless you pay more, and two premium subscribers describe a drop in quality in mid-2026.
The praise is consistent too, and it matches YouTube: the images are the best in the category, the character library is the deepest, and the chat flows well at first.
The meta-finding is distrust. Several threads question whether positive posts are genuine, point at the volume of advertising, or plug a rival in the same breath. In this category Reddit is a marketing battleground, so I weight upvotes and dated, specific complaints over reply counts.
What gets praised
- Image quality and realism (4 threads)
- Deepest character library in the category (2 threads)
- Chat flows well and feels natural at first (3 threads)
- Memory holds for about two weeks (1 thread)
What gets criticised
- Tokens on top of the subscription for images, video and new characters; one user spent about $67 in a month (4 threads)
- Repetitive, looping replies after the first week (5 threads)
- Memory resets or weakens unless you pay more (3 threads)
- A drop in chat quality reported by two premium subscribers in mid-2026 (1 thread)
- Aggressive advertising and suspected fake praise (4 threads)

Candy AI vs Muah AI vs Chai AI: 2026 Pricing Comparedtech-insider.org · September 10, 2026Positive · what the article says
A long three-way comparison of Candy AI, Muah AI and Chai AI on pricing, moderation and safety record. It lists Candy's free text-only tier, $3.99 a month billed annually up to $13.99 monthly, token packs from $9.99 to $299.99, and notes that Candy has no documented safety incident in 2024 to 2026 while Muah AI suffered a 1.9 million account breach. Its criticism is category-wide: none of the three verifies age beyond a self-declared birthdate.
My take: The only article that puts the brand next to rivals on safety record, and it comes out cleanest. I agree: the age gate in my sign-up was a birthdate field and nothing more, which is the regulatory risk it names for the whole category.

Answers 'is it safe' with a yes: a legitimate service run since 2023 by a Malta-based company, payments through PCI-compliant processors, no known breaches, no legal identity required at sign-up. Caveats: chats and images are stored on its servers with no public confirmation of end-to-end encryption, it is 18+, and it is not on the app stores, so any 'Candy AI app' download is a clone.
My take: Useful for one fact people keep searching for: there is no official mobile app, which explains the 'app' and 'apk' searches below. I used it in a browser on desktop and phone and never missed an app. The storage caveat is the same one the YouTube testers raise.

A long affiliate review that calls Candy AI worth it if visual consistency and image quality come first, at €3.99 a month on the annual plan. It credits the February 2026 'Live Action' video mode and a memory that 'rarely forgets', and criticises robotic voice calls next to Kupid AI and a token system that 'can get expensive fast'. It names the operator as Candy Network in Valletta, Malta, and quotes a SimilarWeb estimate of 63.7 million monthly visits.
My take: Affiliate, so discount the verdict, but its criticisms line up with my test and with Reddit: the voice calls were the weakest part of my month, and tokens went fastest on images. The 63.7 million figure is an all-traffic estimate from SimilarWeb and is not comparable with the organic-search figures on this page.

Candy AI Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Honest VerdictPlisio · April 9, 2026Mixed · what the article says
A crypto-payments blog's long look at the product and its reputation: 50 million claimed users, a Trustpilot score of 3.7 split between 50% five-star and 23% one-star reviews, a reader who spent $200 in a month on tokens, and discreet billing plus crypto payments as genuine privacy features. It names EverAI Limited and CEO Alexis Soulopoulos as the operator and quotes SimilarWeb at 23.5 million monthly visits in February 2026, 81% male.
My take: The most even-handed article in the set, and the Trustpilot split is the best one-line summary of this brand's reputation: people either love it or feel overcharged. My month put me in the first group, and I can see exactly how a heavy image user lands in the second. Its SimilarWeb figure is a third of StartupHub's, which is why I do not use SimilarWeb on this page.

Is Candy AI Safe?Blockchain Council · January 23, 2026Positive · what the article says
An 'is it safe' explainer: a real business (EverAI Limited) with published privacy and content policies, GDPR-style rights, charges that appear as 'EverAI' on statements, and a clear cancellation path. The real risks it names are subscription hygiene, forgetting to cancel, and look-alike domains such as candy-ai.eu.
My take: Confirms the billing descriptor I saw on my own statement and in the top YouTube video. The look-alike domain warning is worth repeating: the brand is big enough to be impersonated.

How to Develop a Candy AI Clone Using Python and Adaptive AI ModelsTechBullion · January 17, 2026Neutral · what the article says
A sponsored developer piece on how to build a 'Candy AI clone' in Python. It says nothing about the product itself.
My take: Its only signal is that 'Candy AI' has become the generic name developers use for this kind of app, which is a kind of brand strength.
What the press adds up to
Reading across the 9 articles I could open.
Of the 9 articles I read, 5 are positive, 2 are mixed, 2 are neutral and none is negative.
Press coverage is favourable but rarely independent. Of nine readable articles, five come out positive, two mixed, two are mentions in passing, and none is negative. Three of the positives carry affiliate links.
What they agree on: it is a legitimate business (EverAI Limited, Malta, since 2023) with no documented breach, discreet billing, the best images in the category, and a memory that holds. What they criticise: token costs on top of the subscription, robotic voice calls, chats stored without confirmed end-to-end encryption, and the emotional-dependency risk of the whole category.
Two useful facts surface only here: there is no official app-store app, so 'Candy AI' downloads are clones, and look-alike domains exist. Both explain searches I see further down.

How Google’s AI describes it
The AI Overview Google showed for a US search of "candy.ai" on October 7, 2026, quoted as is.
Candy.ai is an adult-oriented virtual companion platform that lets users interact with customized AI boyfriends and girlfriends through text, voice notes, photos, and videos. Core Features Deep Customization: Create virtual companions from scratch by defining their personality, appearance, voice, and backstory. Multimodal Chat: Send text messages, listen to voice responses, and generate custom images or video clips. Pricing Free Tier: Includes unlimited text-based chatting with virtual characters.…

How AI systems regard it: my take
Why this matters: a growing share of people never click a result. They read Google's summary, or ask an assistant, and decide from that. The overview above is the brand as Google's AI currently understands it, and it is the version most newcomers meet first.
The framing is 'adult-oriented companion platform' first, then deep customisation, multimodal chat, long-term memory and an NSFW/SFW switch. That is the same order the YouTube reviewers use, so the AI summary is tracking what people actually say rather than the marketing.
One claim I disagree with from my own test: it describes a free tier with unlimited text chat. I hit the message cap on the free tier within a session, and every reviewer I read describes it the same way, so 'unlimited' is Google's AI repeating marketing copy. The sources it cites include a trust-index page that grades the data handling 'C', so privacy is already part of how AI systems summarise this brand, not just how Reddit does.
What people type into Google before they sign up
Google's own suggestions after "candy ai" and the related searches Google Trends ranks highest over the last 12 months, retrieved October 7, 2026.
These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.
| Theme | Searches | What it tells me |
|---|---|---|
| Features people want | "candy ai video", "candy ai chat", "candy ai shorts dailymotion", "candy ai image editor" | Which parts of the product people search for by name: what they have heard about, or what they could not find inside. |
| Apps and where to get it | "candy ai app", "candy ai telegram", "candy ai appstore" | People expect a mobile app. Where none exists, these searches end at clones and look-alike domains. |
| Price and free access | "candy ai free" | People want a way in without paying. Whether the free tier is usable decides whether they sign up. |
| What it is | "what is candy ai" | First-time hearers checking what the name means: a sign the brand is reaching beyond its existing users. |
| Trust and reviews | "candy ai review" | Shopping for a verdict before paying. This is the traffic Part 2 competes for. |

My take
Price first, then identity, then where to get it. The biggest single search next to the brand name is 'candy ai free', followed by 'what is candy ai'. People want a way in without paying, and a lot of them are hearing the name for the first time. From my test I would tell them the free tier is enough to judge the chat, not the images.
The app-store and APK searches are people looking for a mobile app that does not exist. Candy AI is web-only, so those searches end at clones and look-alike domains, which the press warns about and which is a reputational risk the brand does not control.
The rising searches are rival names, so people compare before they buy. That is normal for a category leader; it becomes a warning sign only if the brand's own search volume starts falling while the rivals' keeps rising.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach
How much traffic Candy AI gets, and where it ranks
How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.
On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, candy.ai ranked #12,246 among every domain worldwide, up 273 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 10,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #5, behind Kupid.ai and Nomi.ai.

Its positions on the category searches
candy.ai's Google positions on the category's searches. DataForSEO, United States, September 2026.
Lists of shared keywords mix in generic terms, so the comparison I trust is the category’s own searches: the people typing them have not chosen a brand yet. In September 2026, candy.ai held position #11 for “ai girlfriend” in the US.
| Search | US searches / month | Position |
|---|---|---|
| “ai girlfriend” | 135,000 | #11 |
| “ai girlfriends” | 22,200 | #1 |
| “ai gf” | 22,200 | #2 |
| “chat girlfriend” | 22,200 | #6 |
| “ai girlfriend chat” | 14,800 | #1 |
| “ai girlfriend app” | 6,600 | #2 |
How I read it. 85% of this site’s top-keyword traffic comes from people typing its own name, so the category searches are what bring in people who have never heard of it. Position #11 for "ai girlfriend" is off page one, so for now the site depends on its name rather than on the category term. It also holds a top-three position for "ai girlfriends", "ai gf", "ai girlfriend chat", "ai girlfriend app", which is where the long-tail newcomers come from.

What the numbers tell me about Candy AI
First the facts, each one derived from the table above and nothing else. Then the story I read in them.
The facts
| Finding | Detail |
|---|---|
| Traffic down 13% on the month | Estimated organic search traffic in September 2026 was 592,075 visits worldwide, -13.3% versus August 2026 and +3451.1% versus September 2025. |
| A 98% collapse, then a recovery to 87% of peak | Traffic fell from 680,658 visits in December 2024 to 16,673 in September 2025, then climbed back to 87% of that earlier peak by September 2026. |
| 20% of visits come from the United States | The United States accounts for 116,063 visits, followed by India and Canada. |
| 301K people a month search the brand name in the US | Google Ads data puts US searches for "candy ai" at about 301,000 a month in August 2026 (+82.4% since September 2025), and worldwide searches at about 1,220,000. |
| 85% of top-keyword traffic is branded | 85% of the traffic from the top 10 US keywords comes from people typing the brand name, which indicates demand driven mostly by name recognition rather than generic search rankings. |
| 4.7K referring domains, Domain Rating 76 | 4,683 websites link to candy.ai, +2.0% over the last 12 months; its Domain Rating by Ahrefs is 76 and its DataForSEO domain rank is 85 (83 a year ago). |
| Position #11 on Google for "ai girlfriend" | In September 2026, candy.ai ranked #11 in the US results for "ai girlfriend", the category's own search term, which is searched about 135,000 times a month. It also holds a top-three position for "ai girlfriends", "ai gf", "ai girlfriend chat", "ai girlfriend app". |
| #5 among the AI girlfriend sites I track | Candy AI sits #5 among the sites I track on the combined data, ranking #11 in United States Google results for "ai girlfriend", behind Kupid.ai and Nomi.ai. Among all domains on the internet it ranks 12,246th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, up 273 places since August 31, 2026; Google's Chrome UX Report places it in the top 10,000 most visited sites worldwide. |
| Reviewers praise memory and image quality, and flag the fine print on price and privacy | Of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 4 are positive, 1 is mixed, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. The video reviewers I read come down in its favour on memory and image quality; their caveats are all fine print: an annual price advertised as monthly, token top-ups for images, and chat data used for training. |
My take: the story in the numbers
What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.
The collapse of 2025 was a ranking event, not a demand event. Traffic fell 98% from 680K visits in December 2024 to 16.7K in September 2025 while brand searches kept growing. When people keep typing a name but the site stops receiving the visits, Google has stopped showing it. That pattern fits a penalty or a botched site change, and the recovery from October 2025 onward, back to 87% of the old peak by September 2026, says the problem was fixed rather than the audience lost.
The recovery was powered by the name. 85% of its top-keyword traffic is branded, and 'candy ai' grew 82% year on year to 301K US searches a month. A site most visitors reach by name recovers fast once it ranks again, because the demand was waiting. That is also why the +3,451% year on year is not a growth story: it is a before-and-after of the same audience.
September's 13% dip is not demand, and I can show it. Brand searches held at 301K and Google Trends still sits at 55% of its spring peak, so people did not stop looking. Two things changed instead. Rival names broke out in Trends (uncensy, virtualover, darlink), which is comparison shopping, and the September keyword data had candy.ai at #11 for 'ai girlfriend', just off page one for the category's defining term, so the category position is the thing to watch in the October data. Meanwhile the all-traffic Tranco rank kept climbing (up 273 places), which means visitors still arrived by other routes, ads and direct, while search visits slipped. My read: a ranking wobble plus some shopping around, not an exodus.
The link profile tells a different story from the traffic. Backlinks went from 16M to 128M in a year while referring domains grew only 2%, to 4,683. Eight times the links from the same number of sites means a handful of domains link from every page, the signature of affiliate networks and sitewide placements rather than earned coverage. That fits how many of the videos and articles I read carry affiliate links, and it is why I weight referring domains, which are flat, over the raw backlink count.
What people say explains the shape of the curve. The features users praise, images, memory and the character library, are what gets recommended in videos and threads, and that is what keeps brand searches climbing. The features they criticise, token costs, repetitive chat after the first week and a demo-grade free tier, are churn reasons: they show up after the visit, in cancellations and angry Reddit threads, not in the search numbers. So demand can keep growing while Reddit sentiment worsens, and the two can coexist for a long time.
Verdict. Growing on the scorecard (4 indicators up, 2 down), with a demand base that keeps expanding and a traffic line still below its own peak. The risk is not that people stop searching for it; it is that the people who arrive leave over tokens and repetition, which is exactly where the negative Reddit threads cluster. If the category position climbs back from #11, October should recover the September dip without any change in demand. If it slips further, the dip repeats, and then the complaints start to matter for the trend, not just the reputation.

The shape is the story: a 98% fall between December 2024 and September 2025, then a climb back to 87% of the old peak by September 2026. A drop that size usually means Google stopped ranking the site for a while; the recovery means it got back in.

In short
What I learned, and what I expect next
Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: Candy AI is growing right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.
How it is performing
Candy AI drew an estimated 592,075 visits from Google search in September 2026, -13.3% on August 2026 and +3451.1% on a year earlier. The year-on-year figure flatters it because it is measured against the September 2025 low; against the December 2024 peak it is at 87%. Over the last quarter the trend is growing (+15.3% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #5 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind Kupid.ai and Nomi.ai.
Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: the traffic line is below its own peak but climbing, and what people praise (images, memory, the character library) is what drives the brand searches that power that climb. What people criticise (tokens on top of the subscription, repetitive chat, a demo-grade free tier) decides whether a visitor stays, so it shows up in churn and in Reddit, not yet in the search numbers. The one place the two meet is the rising rival names in Google Trends: comparison shopping is how a reputation problem eventually becomes a traffic problem, and it is the first thing I check next month.
What changed
Brand demand is the standout: about 301,000 US searches a month (+82.4% year on year) and 1,220,000 worldwide. Demand and traffic are rising together, which is the healthiest pattern there is. In popularity terms it has climbed 273 places since August 31, 2026. Links are flat (+2.0% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 4 are positive, 1 is mixed, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. The video reviewers I read come down in its favour on memory and image quality; their caveats are all fine print: an annual price advertised as monthly, token top-ups for images, and chat data used for training. Reddit is far cooler on it than YouTube: five of eight threads lean negative, with token costs, repetitive replies and suspicion of paid praise as the recurring themes, while the images and the character library are still conceded to be the best around.
What I expect
With demand, traffic and links moving the same way, I expect Candy AI to keep gaining ground over the next few months. The thing that would change my mind is a month-on-month drop that repeats, which is why I refresh these figures monthly. 3 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month
- Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
- Whether US brand searches move out of the 301K band they have sat in.
- Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.
- Whether candy.ai holds position #11 for “ai girlfriend”, the category’s own search.
- Whether the rival names rising next to it in Google Trends (darlink, ourdreamai, ourdream ai) keep climbing while its own searches hold.

Part 7 · Method
How I measured all this
I bought a Candy AI membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.
- Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
- From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
- Brand search volume
- Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
- Domain Rating
- Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
- Popularity rank
- The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
- Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
- Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
- Hands-on testing
- I purchased a Candy AI membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
- Rounding and independence
- Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or Candy AI.
Part 8 · Final verdict
One last word on Candy AI
Candy AI is the category's reference point, and after a month with it I understand why. The images and the memory are the best I have used on any AI girlfriend site, the character library is the deepest, and the demand backs it up: about 301,000 US searches for the name every month and the #2 position on Google for 'ai girlfriend' itself. Users say the same things I found, and that agreement is why I trust the verdict.
It is also a product that charges you twice. A subscription covers the chat; images, voice, video and new characters draw on tokens, and that is where every angry thread on Reddit starts. Push the roleplay past the first week and the lines begin to repeat. That is the whole split in one sentence: the praise is about what it makes, the complaints are about what it costs and how long it stays fresh.
Who should pick it: someone who wants the best pictures and a companion that remembers, and who will mostly chat. Who should not: heavy image and video users on a budget, anyone who wants the strongest voice calls, and anyone who needs a real free tier to decide.
Where it stands today: #5 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, growing on my scorecard, with a traffic recovery still short of its own peak and a reputation that is warmer on YouTube and in the press than on Reddit. If the category position holds and the token complaints do not turn into falling brand searches, it stays near the top of my ranking.
