BabeChat

An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.

I bought a BabeChat membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of babechat.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a BabeChat membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade BabeChat on my feel alone.

I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.

This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and BabeChat’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.

Part 1 · What it offers

What BabeChat offers

BabeChat (babechat.ai) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.

Part 2 · What people say

What people say about BabeChat

I bought a membership and tested BabeChat myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 2 YouTube videos with 834 views between them, 7 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 0 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 2 video transcripts (2,463 words), 7 threads with their top comments, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.

Favourability at a glance

Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.

Each feature, and what people think of it

What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.

FeatureVerdictWhat people say
Chat and roleplayMixedThe company's own pitch is a character that 'reacts, not just replies', with narrated, visual-novel-style prose shown at length in both sponsored videos (2 videos). No user has published a verdict in English (0 of 7 threads carry one), and my own July test of the pre-relaunch site found responsive but shallow flirty chat with no personality tools. My test: Partly disagree with my own earlier test: the relaunch is a different product, with stage directions and a character that follows its profile, and on the premium models it is good. On the cheapest model it flattens fast.
Story Mode and emotion artPositiveThe expression and the background change as the mood shifts, at no extra ProChat, and Story Mode offers choices at key moments that decide the ending (3 threads). Both sponsored videos show the narrated style; neither shows a branching ending being reached (2 videos). My test: Agree. The art swap is a small thing that makes a big difference to immersion, and a Story Mode run to an ending is the best use of a ProChat balance here.
Memory and lorebooksMixedKeyword lorebooks are the memory system: the livestream names two side characters in a lorebook and they appear the moment they are mentioned in chat (1 video), and the creator post lists lorebooks as a builder feature (1 thread). The team's feedback post asks about 'how well a character remembers details', which suggests it is a known gap (1 thread). My test: Agree with the lorebook and disagree with calling it memory. Anything you put in a keyword entry comes back reliably; a detail I mentioned in passing was gone the next session, as in my July test.
ImagesMixedThe builder generates image options for a character from keywords and an art style, and creators can upload expression images that swap in during chat (2 videos, 2 threads). There is no scene or NSFW image generation in chat, which my July test confirmed, and nothing in the relaunch posts claims one.My test: Agree. Character art, not image generation: good enough to build a face and a few expressions, and not a reason to pick this site over the image-first rivals.
VoiceNegativeNo voice messages or calls, according to my July test, and none of the relaunch posts or the two videos mention voice at all (0 of 7 threads, 0 of 2 videos). My test: Agree. Nothing to test; it is a reading product.
Characters and creatorsPositiveA creator economy: Berries paid per chat, direct tips, large description limits and a review step before a character goes public (2 threads, 2 videos). The English launch has 'a small hand-picked roster' (1 thread); the Korean side claims tens of thousands of characters, and the spotlights show contest-written scenario cards from a yandere ex to a last day with a dying mother (2 threads). My test: Agree. The builder is quick, the auto-filled profile is clever, and the writing in the spotlighted characters is a cut above the category; the English catalogue is small for now.
Free allowanceNegative'No free chat tier' in the company's own words: 500 ProChat on sign-up to use within seven days, then 300 a day rising to 900 by day 30 for checking in (3 threads). The company calls that enough to try a few characters; a visitor's first question is whether there is a paywall in five minutes (1 thread). My test: Disagree with 'enough to properly try a few characters'. At 30 to 350 ProChat a message it is one to sixteen replies, and the paywall arrives inside the first session.
Price and ProChatMixedPay as you go: 30 to 350 ProChat per message depending on the model, shown before you send, no subscription and no auto-renew, first top-up 20 to 30% off (2 threads). App Store packs run from $3.99 for 6,500 ProChat to $89.99 for 143,000. The two sponsored videos hand out 1,000 and 3,000 ProChat as campaign codes and never say what a message costs (2 videos). My test: Agree on the honesty, partly disagree on the value: a $3.99 pack is a few evenings on the cheap model or one on the best, so a regular user will spend more than a flat subscription elsewhere, which is the trade for no lock-in.
Privacy and billingPositiveNo subscription means nothing to cancel and no auto-renew 'for now' (2 threads). The footer names the operating company, its Yongin address and a Korean business registration number, and the apps are sold under the same name. No source raises a billing or data complaint (0 of 7 threads). My test: Agree. A pack purchase, a visible balance and no recurring charge is the cleanest billing model in this category; the policies are Korean-first and short.
Safety and content rulesMixedThe apps are rated 13+ and every character is created with an all-ages or 18+ safe-filter setting and a review before publication (1 video, 1 thread). The launch promises 'no limits on where the story goes' (1 thread). My July test found the old site willing to escalate in text.My test: Partly disagree with 'no limits'. Adult content depends on the character's setting and the model, and public characters are reviewed first; it is a creator-gated system, not an unfiltered one.
Apps and languagesPositiveiOS and Android apps since March 2025 in English, Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese (App Store), a Japanese marketing push in June 2026 (2 videos) and an English relaunch on 28 September 2026 (1 thread). The organic competitors are app-store and APK sites, which says how people find it.My test: Agree. The app is where I did most of my month; the web version is Korean-first and the English storefront is a week old.

How I read this

Sentiment is the hardest thing to measure honestly. My own test tells me what the product does; what other people publish tells me how it is regarded, and for a brand this size the second matters more. So for every source I read the full text, not the title: the transcripts of the most-watched videos, Reddit threads with their top comments and upvotes, press articles in full, and the exact words people add after the brand name in search. A title tells you what someone set out to test; only the full text tells you what they found.

The most-watched videos, and what they actually say

For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.

  • [Babechat] I came from 2038 and tried creating my "ideal AI persona", here's what happened [AD]るかChannel. トランスジェンダーVtuber 音葉はるか · 4mo ago · 19:13 · 446 views

Positive · what the video says

A 19-minute sponsored walkthrough (the title carries an [AD] tag) by a Japanese VTuber who builds a character 'from 2038' and chats with her. It shows the narrated story-style chat, where the AI writes stage directions around the character's lines, and the full creation flow: name and intro, an auto-generate button, a prompt-writing guide, an opening scene and first line, a safe-filter choice between all-ages and 18+, category and up to five hashtags, a keyword 'lorebook', a detailed profile and multiple expression and outfit images. Public characters go through a review before they appear, and the video ends with a campaign code worth 3,000 points.

My read: Accurate about the builder, silent about the meter, and I disagree with the tone. The creator flow is as deep as shown, and the lorebook keywords did fire in my test. What a sponsored tour leaves out is that every reply costs ProChat, which is the first thing a newcomer will notice. Four hundred views on a paid placement is not an audience either.

  • 【Babechat】AIレトロを作ろう!【猫神レトロ】Retro Ch. / 猫神レトロ · Streamed 4mo ago · 2:10:35 · 388 views

Positive · what the video says

A two-hour livestream in which a Japanese VTuber, in an official collaboration with the brand, builds an AI version of herself: name, intro, one-to-one roleplay mode, appearance, background, occupation, personality, first- and second-person pronouns, images, an opening scene, audience and category settings, hashtags, and a keyword lorebook for her two sheep sidekicks. She is impressed that the profile tags fill themselves in from what she wrote, and when she later mentions the sheep in chat they appear in character. The AI 'Retro' then streams in her voice and she jokes that it is better at streaming than she is. An invite code gives 1,000 ProChat until 20 June.

My read: The most useful look at the product on YouTube, even though it is a collab. The lorebook trigger working live is the one thing I could verify, and it matches my test: keyword memory is reliable, free-form memory is not. I agree that the character writing is the strength; the stream never shows what two hours of chat cost in ProChat, which it would have.

What the videos add up to

Reading across the 2 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.

Of the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 2 are positive and none is negative.

Both videos are paid or official placements aimed at Japan. One carries an [AD] tag in its title, the other is a two-hour livestream billed as an official collaboration, and each ends with a campaign code for free ProChat. Neither is a review, so there is no verdict to agree with; what they offer is a long, unedited look at the character builder (2 of 2 videos) and the keyword lorebook (2 of 2).

What they show is real. The creation flow, the auto-generated profile fields, the opening-scene and first-line settings, the all-ages or 18+ safe filter and the review step for public characters all match what I used. The livestream's lorebook test, where two side characters appear the moment they are named, is the single best piece of evidence on this page, and it held in my test too.

What they never show is the cost. Two hours of chat on camera and not one mention of what it drew from the balance, which is the number that decides whether anyone stays. For a site with 188,000 search visits a month, 834 views across two sponsored videos says its audience is not on YouTube and is not English-speaking; it is Korean, and it found the site another way.

What gets praised

  • Character creation depth: profile, pronouns, opening scene, expressions and outfits (2 videos)
  • Keyword lorebook that triggers side characters and settings mid-chat (2 videos)
  • Narrated story-style replies that read like a visual novel (2 videos)
  • Profile tags auto-filled from the intro text (1 video)

What gets criticised

  • Both videos are sponsored or official collaborations with campaign codes (2 of 2)
  • Neither mentions what messages cost in ProChat (2 of 2)
  • Public characters need a review before they go live, which the sponsored tour notes in passing (1 video)
  • No independent review exists in any language (the whole search)

What Reddit says, thread by thread

The threads Google surfaces for "babechat" on Reddit, read with their top comments. Upvotes and comment counts as they stood on October 7, 2026; most upvoted first. Screenshots show the post as it is publicly visible.

Neutral · what the thread says

A request for feedback from a second team member, posted on 7 October: 'what's one thing you wish worked better?' It names the three things the team expects to hear about, 'how the conversation flows, how well a character remembers details, or finding a character you want to talk to', asks for specific examples without private chat logs, and invites praise too. Three upvotes, the most of any thread here, and no replies at all.

“Maybe it's how the conversation flows, how well a character remembers details, or finding a character you want to talk to. What happened, and what would you have wanted instead?” — u/tim_3254, +3

My read: Agree that those are the three questions, and I will answer since nobody else has. Flow is good on the premium models and flat on the cheap ones; memory holds what the lorebook holds and little else; finding a character is easy because the roster is small. The empty comment section is the finding: the English community is the company talking to itself.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "BabeChat Launch"

    r/BabeChat · u/lennbb · October 1, 2026 · 2 upvotes · 0 comments · open on Reddit

Neutral · what the thread says

The launch announcement, posted by the team on 1 October 2026: as of 28 September you can 'chat with AI characters with no limits on where the story goes'. It lists the pitch in four lines: the character's expression and background art change in real time as the mood shifts, an open chat and a Story Mode where choices at key moments decide the ending, a character builder where the AI generates image options for you, and a creator programme in which every chat supports whoever built the character. Two upvotes, no comments.

“Live emotion & scene art, The character's expression and background update in real time as the conversation shifts. When the mood changes, so does the screen.” — u/lennbb, +2

My read: Partly disagree with 'no limits on where the story goes'. The expression art and the branching Story Mode are as described. But the apps are rated 13+, each character carries an all-ages or 18+ safe-filter setting chosen by its creator, and the model sets what it will write, so the limits exist; they are set per character.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "👋 Welcome to r/BabeChat - Introduce Yourself and Read First!"

    r/BabeChat · u/lennbb · September 29, 2026 · 2 upvotes · 4 comments · open on Reddit

Mixed · what the thread says

The pinned welcome post, and the only thread with a conversation. One visitor asks whether the expression and background changes cost extra; the team answers that the art is free and 'the model you choose is the only thing that sets the price'. Another asks 'Is it free? I don't want to sign up and hit a paywall in 5 minutes', and the team repeats that there is no unlimited free tier, only the 500 sign-up ProChat and the daily check-in, which it calls 'enough to properly try a few characters before deciding anything'. Two upvotes, four comments, two of them from the company.

“Is it free? I don't want to sign up and hit a paywall in 5 minutes.” — u/Master-Bus-1717, +1

My read: Agree on the art, disagree on 'enough to properly try a few characters'. At 30 to 350 ProChat a message, 500 is between one and sixteen replies, and the daily 300 is less. I got a feel for one character on the cheapest model before the balance ran out; the paywall the second commenter fears arrives inside the first session.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "Creators: BabeChat pays you Berries when someone chats with your character. Here's how it works."

    r/BabeChat · u/lennbb · October 1, 2026 · 2 upvotes · 2 comments · open on Reddit

Neutral · what the thread says

A recruiting post for character creators: every chat with your character earns Berries, the creator currency, and users can tip you directly. The builder supports name, personality, appearance, an art style with AI-generated image options, and lorebooks, with description limits 'larger than most platforms' and paid expansion beyond them. The pitch is that the English launch has 'a small hand-picked roster', so early creators are 'not competing with 50,000 bots for visibility'. The one visitor asks how long creation takes; the team says minutes, because the AI fills in personality and background from a short intro. Two upvotes.

“We're launching with a small hand-picked roster, which means early creators are not competing with 50,000 bots for visibility.” — u/lennbb, +2

My read: Agree on the builder, partly disagree on the roster. The auto-fill from an intro works and I had a usable character in ten minutes. But 'hand-picked roster' describes the English storefront only; the Korean side claims tens of thousands of characters, so the visibility advantage closes as soon as the catalogue opens up. Payout terms sit in a help centre, not in the post.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "Matched with someone on a dating app. Showed up to the cafe. It was my ex. She "knew it was me from the start.""

    r/BabeChat · u/lennbb · October 2, 2026 · 2 upvotes · 0 comments · open on Reddit

Neutral · what the thread says

Creator spotlight number four: a character from the Summer Creation Contest in which a dating-app match turns out to be your ex, now a yandere who 'is not letting you leave twice'. The post reads like a visual-novel blurb, with the character's likes (affection, trust, dates) and dislikes (being ignored, any hint of a breakup, other women), and praises the intro's details. It is the clearest example of what the catalogue is: scenario cards with a hook, in an anime register, written by users for a contest. Two upvotes, no comments.

“Now she has longer hair, tired eyes, faint dark circles, and a very specific look in her red eyes that says she is not letting you leave twice.” — u/lennbb, +2

My read: Agree with the description, and I would add the thing it does not say. This is the kind of character the site is best at: a premise with a built-in tension that the model can play for dozens of messages. It is also a Korean contest entry presented to an English audience, which tells you where the catalogue comes from.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "r/BabeChat is new here"

    r/newsubreddits · u/lennbb · September 30, 2026 · 1 upvotes · 0 comments · open on Reddit

Neutral · what the thread says

The same introduction posted to r/newsubreddits to announce the subreddit. It carries the clearest statement of the pricing anywhere: 'No free chat tier. It runs on credits called ProChat.' You get 500 ProChat on sign-up to use within seven days, then daily check-in rewards of 300 rising to 900 by day 30 of a streak; the first top-up is 20 to 30% off once; there is no subscription and no auto-renew 'for now'; and each message costs 30 to 350 ProChat depending on the model you pick, with the price shown before you send. One upvote, no comments.

“No free chat tier. It runs on credits called ProChat. You get 500 ProChat free when you sign up (use within 7 days) and daily check-in rewards after that.” — u/lennbb, +1

My read: Agree, and credit where it is due: this is the most honest price disclosure I have seen from any brand in this category. It matches what I paid. The number to hold on to is the 30-to-350 range: the models people actually want sit at the top of it, which turns 500 free ProChat into a handful of messages.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "One day. One last memory with Mom. You already know how it ends."

    r/BabeChat · u/lennbb · October 7, 2026 · 1 upvotes · 0 comments · open on Reddit

Neutral · what the thread says

Creator spotlight number six, posted on 7 October, and deliberately different: 'Mom from Old Memories' is 'not a romance, a game, or a power fantasy' but a single day, 31 March 2000, spent as a child with a mother you know is leaving the next day. The post dwells on the small details, a bandage on her arm, the way she looks at you 'like she's trying to memorize your face'. One upvote, no comments. It is the only thread on this page that is not about romance, points or features.

    “Mom from Old Memories isn't a romance, a game, or a power fantasy. It's one single day. March 31, 2000.” — u/lennbb, +1

My read: Agree that this is the range the platform has, and it changes how I file the brand. A site whose pitch leads with a yandere ex and follows with a grief scenario is a story platform with romance in it, not an AI girlfriend product. I tried the character; it is well written, it is sad, and it drew the same ProChat as anything else.

What Reddit adds up to

Reading across the 7 threads, weighted by upvotes.

Of the 7 threads I read, 1 is mixed, 6 are neutral and none is negative.

Every thread about this brand was written by the brand. Of the eleven threads the search returned, I kept seven, all posted by two team accounts on r/BabeChat (opened 29 September 2026) and r/newsubreddits between 29 September and 7 October. The other four were an empty duplicate, a 2024 Character.AI poll that never names the site, and two threads that merely contain the word 'babe'. Across the seven posts there are four comments, two of them company replies, and the highest score is three.

What the posts disclose is unusually frank: no free chat tier, 500 ProChat on sign-up to use within a week, 300 to 900 a day for checking in, 30 to 350 ProChat per message depending on the model, no subscription and no auto-renew. The expression and background art is free. Creators earn Berries per chat and can be tipped. That is more pricing detail than most rivals put on their own sites, and it matched my bill.

What the posts cannot tell me is whether anyone likes it. The two visitor comments are a cost question and a paywall worry. The spotlights show a catalogue of contest-written scenario cards, a yandere ex and a last day with a dying mother, which places this as a story platform rather than a companion app. For a verdict from users I have to look at the Korean side of the site, where the traffic is, and at my own month.

What gets praised

  • Expression and background art changes with the mood, at no ProChat cost (3 threads)
  • Story Mode with choices that decide the ending (3 threads)
  • Fast character creation with AI-filled personality and background, plus lorebooks (2 threads)
  • Creators paid in Berries per chat and tippable (1 thread)
  • Pricing disclosed upfront: per-message costs shown before you send (2 threads)

What gets criticised

  • No free chat tier; a visitor's first question is whether there is a paywall in five minutes (2 threads)
  • Messages cost 30 to 350 ProChat each, so the sign-up allowance is a handful of replies (2 threads)
  • A 'hand-picked roster' for the English launch means a small catalogue for now (1 thread)
  • Nobody outside the company has posted an opinion (all 7 threads)

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach

How much traffic BabeChat gets, and where it ranks

How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.

On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, babechat.ai ranked #83,019 among every domain worldwide, down 1,551 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 50,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #28, behind Flipped and Live3D.

How I read this

The number that matters most in this category is not the worldwide rank but the position among AI girlfriend sites. I read the daily chart for direction: a line climbing toward the top means the platform is gaining ground on everyone else, and a flat line at a high rank means a settled audience. Tranco is a rank, not a visit count, so I never convert it into visits.

These are the indicators I track for every AI girlfriend site, in the same order, so the pages can be compared side by side. Traffic tells me size, brand searches tell me demand, the popularity rank tells me standing against the rest of the category, and links tell me staying power. I always read the trend before the level: a platform at 500K visits and falling is a different story from one at 300K and doubling.

Among all domains on the internet it ranks 83,019th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, down 1,551 places since August 31, 2026; Google's Chrome UX Report places it in the top 50,000 most visited sites worldwide.

My take: the story in the numbers

What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.

The traffic line is Korean, and it is the steepest in my set. Worldwide search visits went from 189 in October 2024 to 188,289 in September 2026, up 768% on the year and at a new peak, and 165,721 of them came from Korea. The United States sent 14. So the 768% is not an AI girlfriend story in the sense this site usually means; it is a Korean story platform that happens to be in my registry, and the English side of it is nine days old.

Two steps explain the curve. Traffic doubled from 30,512 in November 2025 to 55,301 in December, and doubled again from 84,358 in July 2026 to 173,120 in August. The first step follows the company's own account of passing 100,000 monthly users and half a billion won of monthly revenue in late 2024, a year earlier, so it is more likely Google catching up with an already popular app than a launch. The second, in August, coincides with nothing I can find in the English sources; the Japanese campaign ran in June, and the Korean Trends line was flat through the summer, so my best reading is a ranking gain on Korean character and genre terms rather than a demand spike. Worldwide brand searches rose from 49,500 to 74,000 over the year, which supports steady growth, not a doubling.

Search is not how it grew. Referring domains went from 16 to 262 in two years and backlinks stayed around 3,000 the whole time, so the link profile is small and natural, and the Domain Rating of 30 reflects it. The organic competitors are app-store and APK mirrors: talkie-ai.com, apple.com, apkpure, aptoide. The company's self-reported figures, 100,000 monthly users and 80,000 characters by late 2024, were reached when the site had under 2,000 search visits a month. The audience came through the apps and Korean streaming culture, which is what the Trends panel shows, and search followed it.

The reach rank is drifting the other way. Tranco puts the site at #28 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, at 83,019, down about 1,500 places since the end of August while search visits rose 9%. Those two can disagree when the app takes a growing share of the audience that the web rank cannot see, or when Korean web use is flat while search indexing improves. Either way, a record search month and a slipping all-traffic rank is not a boom; it is a stable Korean audience being counted better.

The English launch has not registered anywhere yet. US brand searches are 480 a month and falling, there are 17 US keywords, the subreddit has four comments, and the two YouTube placements are Japanese. That is what week one looks like, and it is also the risk: this brand's numbers can look superb on this page for a year while its English product finds nobody, because the Korean line will carry them.

Verdict. Growing on every search indicator (traffic up 768%, worldwide brand searches up 49%, referring domains up 162%) and slipping on reach, with an audience that is 88% Korean and a product that users praise, in Korean, for its characters and stories. What I would need to see to call it a contender in this market rather than a visitor to it: US brand searches moving off 480, an English keyword that is not a typo, and a comment on r/BabeChat from someone who does not work there.

In short

What I learned, and what I expect next

Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: BabeChat is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.

How it is performing

BabeChat drew an estimated 188,289 visits from Google search in September 2026, +8.8% on August 2026 and +767.6% on a year earlier. Over the last quarter the trend is growing (+68.4% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #28 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind Flipped and Live3D.

Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: there are no English reviews, so the reading is the numbers against my own month and the company's disclosures. The traffic is at a record and almost entirely Korean; the English relaunch is a week old and invisible in every signal I have. What the product does well, reactive art, Story Mode and contest-grade character writing, is what pulls a story audience in and it is what Korea has rewarded. What will decide whether English users stay is the meter: no free tier and 30 to 350 ProChat a message is the first thing they meet. The two numbers I check next month are US brand searches and the first English keyword that is not noise.

What changed

Brand demand is the standout: about 480 US searches a month (-18.6% year on year) and 74,000 worldwide. Traffic is up faster than brand demand, which usually means the site is winning generic searches rather than relying on its name. In popularity terms it has slipped 1,551 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+162.0% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 2 are positive and none is negative. YouTube has two sponsored Japanese walkthroughs that show a deep character builder and a working lorebook, and nothing that tests the product or mentions what it costs. Reddit consists of seven posts by the company itself in the week after its 28 September English launch, frank about the no-free-tier ProChat pricing and silent, because nobody has replied, on whether the chat is any good.

What I expect

The indicators point in different directions, so I expect BabeChat to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 149K visits a month and a position around #28 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 7 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month

  • Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
  • Whether US brand searches move out of the 480 band they have sat in.
  • Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.

Part 7 · Method

How I measured all this

I bought a BabeChat membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.

Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
Brand search volume
Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
Domain Rating
Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
Popularity rank
The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
Hands-on testing
I purchased a BabeChat membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
Rounding and independence
Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or BabeChat.

Part 8 · Final verdict

One last word on BabeChat

BabeChat is a Korean story platform with an English door that opened nine days ago, and after a month with it I would call it a good story app and a poor fit for the AI girlfriend label. The characters react with expression and background art, Story Mode runs to real endings, the keyword lorebook works, and the spotlighted characters, a yandere ex and a last day with a dying mother, are better written than most of this category. The numbers say Korea agrees: 188,000 search visits a month, up 768% in a year, 88% of them Korean.

The trade-off is the meter and the audience. There is no free tier, every message costs 30 to 350 ProChat, the models worth using sit at the top of that range, and the company says so plainly, which I respect; it still means the cheapest pack is a few evenings' chat. There is no voice, no image generation in chat, and memory is what you put in a lorebook. And nobody in English has reviewed it: the subreddit is the company talking, the videos are sponsored, and my July test of the pre-relaunch site found a far thinner product than the one I used this month.

Who should pick it: readers who want branching stories and well-written anime characters, who would rather pay per message than subscribe, and who use the app. Who should not: anyone who wants a girlfriend product with voice, images and long memory, anyone who chats for hours a day, and anyone who needs a free tier to decide.

Where it stands today: #28 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, with record search traffic that is almost entirely Korean, a reach rank slipping slightly, and an English launch with no users I can find. It stays on my list on the strength of the product and the honest pricing; it moves up if US brand searches and a real English community appear, and it stays a Korean site with an English menu if they do not.
