I bought a VirtuGF membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade VirtuGF on my feel alone.
I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.
This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. I bought a membership and tested VirtuGF myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 0 YouTube videos with 0 views between them, 3 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 0 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 3 threads with their top comments, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.

The founder's 'roast me' post a few days after launch: a Telegram bot that is 'completely uncensored', sends voice messages and pictures, understands voice and pictures you send, and starts free. He says he built it to learn LLMs and Stable Diffusion training and to earn from a first side project. Nobody roasts the product; the top replies (+97, +89) say DarLink and Muah AI are 'way ahead', and a single account posts four near-identical plugs for 'Muia AI' under misspelled names. Not one of the 221 comments describes using VirtuGF.

My read: A launch post hijacked by rival spam, so I read it for the founder's claims only. I agree the chat is uncensored and the pictures and voice notes exist; I disagree that she 'understands' pictures you send, which in my test drew a generic reply. The spam tells you how this niche's Reddit works, not how the bot does.

The launch-day post on 5 January 2024: 'Today I launched an AI girlfriend service', uncensored, voice messages and pictures both ways, 'you just need a Telegram account', first messages free, and a request for feedback on a first public side project. The thread drew 781 comments on six upvotes, almost all of them plugging Muah AI (spelt four different ways) and HornyCompanion; the one genuine reply (+28) asks how realistic her responses are and gets no answer in the top comments.

My read: The ratio of comments to upvotes is the finding. Hundreds of comments on a six-point post are bot traffic, not interest, and the brand's only Reddit presence is buried under it. I agree with the one real question's implied doubt: the responses are fine for a Telegram bot, not realistic in the way the testimonials on the site claim.

The same launch text posted to r/indiebiz a week later, with the founder's longer note that he wanted to learn LLM and Stable Diffusion training, launch a first side project and earn from it, and that he finds the AI girlfriend topic interesting and controversial. Two upvotes and 35 comments, of which the visible ones each recommend a different rival: Lumoryth, VirtuaLover and Muah AI twice, one calling the build 'impressive' before pointing elsewhere.

My read: Useful for one thing: it dates the launch and names the builder's goals. A solo side project to learn model training is exactly what the product feels like two and a half years on. I agree with the 'impressive for one person' reading and disagree that a regular user would be better served by the rivals named here, two of which are spam names I cannot find.
What Reddit adds up to
Reading across the 3 threads, weighted by upvotes.
Of the 3 threads I read, 3 are mixed and none is negative.
All three threads are the same January 2024 launch announcement posted to r/SideProject, r/roastmystartup and r/indiebiz by the builder: an uncensored AI girlfriend on Telegram that sends voice messages and pictures, starts free, and was built as a first side project to learn LLMs and Stable Diffusion. Together they have 15 upvotes.
Together they also have over a thousand comments, and almost none are about VirtuGF. The top replies in every thread push Muah AI (under four spellings from one account), DarLink, HornyCompanion, Lumoryth or VirtuaLover. The only genuine user comment asks how realistic the responses are. No one on Reddit has written about using the bot, in 2024 or since.
So the Reddit signal is about the market, not the product. A solo Telegram bot launched into a niche where comment sections are bought, and it never built a user voice of its own. That matches the numbers: about 20 US searches a month for the name.

How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.

My take: the story in the numbers
What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.
A side project that found a second gear in late 2025. The bot launched in January 2024, and for its first year search traffic was noise: 171 visits in October 2024, then 22 to 33 a month through the spring of 2025. Growth started in August 2025 (276), doubled in November (611) and December (718), and the US share jumped from 53 to 243 in one month. That step change coincides with the site's shift from a bare Telegram landing page to a web product with an explore grid, a character wizard, an image studio and six languages, and with the 'telegram novia' and 'virtual girlfriend' rankings that now supply most visits.
The 2026 peak came from generic terms, not the name. Traffic reached 1,035 visits in July 2026 and 1,004 in August, up 119% year on year, while searches for 'virtugf' fell to 20 a month in the same two months, from 50 to 70 earlier in the year. When visits rise as brand searches fall, the site is winning positions on terms people type without a brand in mind, and the keyword list shows which: 'virtual girlfriend' at 19, 'ai sexting' at 50, 'ai girlfriend free no sign up' at 41, plus rival names like 'vidqu gf' and 'fantasygf ai'. That traffic is rented, not owned; it leaves the moment a bigger site takes the position.
September 2026 is the first test of that. Visits fell 36% in one month, to 645, and US visits to 150, with no change in demand to explain it: brand searches stayed at 20 and the category term kept its 135,000 searches. A drop that size from a few generic positions is one or two of them slipping, which is what I would expect for a site with 96 US keywords and a DR of 22 sitting in a space where Candy AI, Kupid and Secrets hold the first page.
The link profile moved for the first time in a year, and recently. Referring domains sat between 65 and 83 from January 2025 to April 2026, rose to 134 in May 2026 and then jumped from 160 to 394 in September, with backlinks going from 722 to 1,140 in the same month. Links that arrive in bulk in one month on a site with no press and no Reddit interest are placed, not earned: directories, affiliate pages or the site's own landing-page network (its footer links to pages for Chai AI, Replika NSFW and CrushOn AI). The refund policy was rewritten on 29 July 2026, so a mid-2026 relaunch with a link push is the simplest reading, and the Tranco rank improving from 3.70 million to 3.42 million over the same weeks fits it.
What users say is almost nothing, and the numbers agree. The only Reddit record is the founder's own launch posts, with over a thousand comments and not one from a user; no video and no article mention it. A product with 645 search visits a month and 20 brand searches has not reached the size where strangers write about it. My own test found a bot that does what the 2024 posts promised, uncensored chat with pictures and voice notes inside Telegram, and little that the big web platforms do not do better, which is the same verdict the spam replies reached for their own reasons.
Verdict. Holding steady on my scorecard on the year (traffic up 119%, referring domains up five-fold, Tranco improving) and slipping on the month (traffic down 36%, brand searches at their low). The thing that would confirm the growth is October holding above 800 visits without the September positions coming back by chance; the thing that would confirm the slip is the new referring domains falling away as fast as they arrived, which is what placed links do.

Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: VirtuGF is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.
How it is performing
VirtuGF drew an estimated 645 visits from Google search in September 2026, -35.8% on August 2026 and +118.6% on a year earlier. The year-on-year figure flatters it because it is measured against the January 2025 low; against the October 2024 peak it is at 377%. Over the last quarter the trend is growing (+38.2% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #58 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind AIGirlfriend.WTF and SoulFun.
Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: there are no reviews, only a founder's launch posts and spam, so the trend has to be read against the product itself. A Telegram bot with no sign-up is easy to try and easy to leave, and that is what the numbers show: visits that come from generic 'virtual girlfriend' and 'no sign up' searches, a brand name nobody types, and a September drop with no demand story behind it. The September link jump is the thing to watch; if it holds and the traffic recovers, the mid-2026 relaunch worked, and if the links expire, the site goes back to being a side project with a few hundred visits.

Traffic is up faster than brand demand, which usually means the site is winning generic searches rather than relying on its name. What I expect
The indicators point in different directions, so I expect VirtuGF to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 894.667 visits a month and a position around #58 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 8 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

Part 7 · Method
How I measured all this
I bought a VirtuGF membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.
- Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
- From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
- Brand search volume
- Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
- Domain Rating
- Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
- Popularity rank
- The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
- Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
- Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
- Hands-on testing
- I purchased a VirtuGF membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
- Rounding and independence
- Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or VirtuGF.
Part 8 · Final verdict
One last word on VirtuGF
VirtuGF is a one-developer Telegram bot that does what it promised in January 2024 and not much more. Uncensored chat, pictures of the character and voice notes, all inside a Telegram chat with no sign-up: in my test every one of those worked within a minute of starting. Nobody else has reviewed it, so the agreement I can report is with the founder's own claims, and on those it mostly delivers.
The trade-off is convenience against depth and transparency. It is the fastest start in the category and one of the thinnest products: no memory between sessions, short replies that circle back to flirting, pictures a step below the big generators, and a price that only appears once the free messages run out. The site's talk of 'end-to-end encryption' and companions that 'learn from you' is marketing that my test did not support, and I disagree with both claims.
Who should pick it: someone who lives in Telegram and wants an uncensored companion with pictures and voice notes without installing or registering anything. Who should not: anyone who wants memory, long roleplay, strong images, a published price, or a company with an address.
Where it stands today: #58 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, growing on the year and slipping on the month, with about 645 search visits in September 2026, roughly 20 US searches a month for its name, and a link profile that jumped in one month after a year flat. If the September links hold and visits recover above 800, I would move it up; if the brand searches stay at 20, it remains a site people find by accident rather than by name.
