HeyReal
An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.
I bought a HeyReal membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of heyreal.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a HeyReal membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade HeyReal on my feel alone.
I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.
This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and HeyReal’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.
Part 1 · What it offers
What HeyReal offers
HeyReal (heyreal.ai) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.
- Features
- Text-based NSFW chat with adaptive responses, Customizable AI companions (realistic/anime styles), Personality and appearance customization, Browser-based platform, Discord community and email support, Affiliate referral program
- Free tier
- The free tier gives limited daily messages topped up by check-in coins and bonus tasks, five saved profile cards, no chat memory and no image unlock props, so every image stays blurred.
- Plans
- $12.99/mo
- Extras
- A free plan now exists alongside the paid tiers. Paid monthly: $12.99–$49.99. Yearly: $46.88–$238.88. No crypto. Affiliate program available.
- Operator
- Not disclosed on the site or in any source I read: the terms page returns a 404, the privacy policy is a generic template with no company name, and no video, post or directory names one, Not disclosed, since Not disclosed. The domain was registered in December 2023, search interest first appears in November 2024, and the iOS app listing dates from 2025; domain registered December 2023
- Best for
- Users seeking emotionally engaging, text-based NSFW chats with realistic companions and strong character customization
- Not for
- Those wanting NSFW images, voice features, or video calls; users preferring mobile apps or free trial access
Features and prices from the platform’s own pages; operator from press coverage (heyreal.ai pricing page, heyreal.ai home page and privacy policy, r/HeyRealAI_Official review post, RT Coupons (YouTube), Domain registration record). Official site and social accounts are listed at the end of the page.
Part 2 · What people say
What people say about HeyReal
I bought a membership and tested HeyReal myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 3 YouTube videos with 142 views between them, 1 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 0 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 3 video transcripts (2,641 words), 1 threads with their top comments, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.
Favourability at a glance
Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.
| Source | Read | Pos.Positive | Mixed | Neut.Neutral | Neg.Negative | Fav.Favourable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube videostranscripts read in full | 3 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 33% |
| Reddit threadspost and top comments | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 100% |
| All sources | 4 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 50% |
In one line: YouTube videos 33% positive, 0 negative of 3; Reddit threads 100% positive, 0 negative of 1. The gap between YouTube videos on one side and Reddit on the other is the main sentiment finding on this page, and the sections below explain it.
Each feature, and what people think of it
What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.
| Feature | Verdict | What people say |
|---|---|---|
| Chat and model switching | Positive | The one user review says replies come 'faster than the competition' and that you can switch between five AI models mid-chat when a reply disappoints; the videos repeat the site's 'unfiltered' and 'no predefined boundaries' copy. Nobody describes a long conversation. My test: Agree. Fast, unfiltered and switchable, which is a genuinely good trick when a model goes flat; the writing on the default model is average for the category and the switcher is what makes it usable. |
| Memory | Negative | Sold by tier as '2K limited chat memory', '4K long term chat memory' and '8K long term chat memory', with none on the free plan; the year-old video adds that free chats were kept for three days. No source has tested recall. My test: Disagree with calling a 4K context window long-term memory. It is the last few dozen messages; nothing from a previous week came back in my test on any tier, and the free tier forgot the scene between sessions. |
| Images and unlock props | Mixed | Every reply arrives with an image based on the situation (the Reddit review), generated in a realistic or anime model. The images are blurred until you spend an 'image unlock prop': 5, 10 or 20 a month on the monthly plans, 75, 150 or 360 on the annual ones, none on free.My test: Partly disagree with the review's 'plus': the picture is a meter. Quality is decent and on-scene, and five props a month on the $12.99 plan is gone in an evening. |
| Characters and creation | Mixed | Pre-made characters filtered by gender and theme (romance, comedy, fantasy, anime, OC, vampire, yandere) and a creator that takes about two minutes: name, gender, description, generated or uploaded avatar, tags, greeting, personality paragraph, environment (the tutorial). The Reddit reviewer wants more tags. Saved 'profile cards' are capped at 5, 10, 20 or 50 by plan.My test: Agree it is quick; partly disagree that it is a strength. A single personality paragraph with no backstory or example dialogue is the thinnest creator I have used, and capping saved characters by tier is unusual. |
| Voice and video | Negative | No voice and no video exist on the plan page, the home page or in any source, despite a YouTube title asking whether it is the 'best AI video generator'.My test: Agree. Text and still images only. |
| Free tier | Mixed | 'Limited free messages', five saved cards, no chat memory and no image props, topped up by daily check-in coins and bonus tasks, which is what the only Reddit comment is asking about. The site has an iOS app and the autocomplete is full of people hunting for an APK and a 'mod apk'.My test: Agree. The free tier is a daily ration that rewards logging in, which keeps the Discord's 94 online users coming back and tells you nothing about the paid product. |
| Price | Negative | $12.99, $19.99 and $49.99 a month today for 1,000, 5,000 and unlimited messages, against $46.88, $94.88 and $238.88 a year (about $3.91, $7.91 and $19.91 a month). The year-old video quoted the annual rates as if monthly. Monthly plans get a fraction of the annual plans' image props. My test: Disagree with the monthly pricing as a proposition: $12.99 for 1,000 messages, a 2K window and five images is the worst value in my five brands this round. The annual Standard at $46.88 is fair; the site is built to push you there. |
| Messages as a meter | Negative | Messages are capped at 1,000 or 5,000 a month on the two cheaper tiers, with unlimited only at $49.99 monthly or $238.88 a year. No source mentions this as a problem because no source has used it for a month. My test: Agree it needs saying. A thousand messages is a fortnight of light use; roleplayers will hit it in a week and be sold Premium. |
| Privacy and legitimacy | Negative | No company name appears anywhere: the terms page returns a 404, the privacy policy is a generic template with no operator, and no press, directory or video names one. The domain was registered in December 2023 through NameCheap. The Discord has 2,808 members and the subreddit one post.My test: Agree, and it is the reason I would not buy an annual plan here. The card charge was discreet and nothing went wrong, but I could not find out who I had paid. |
| Findability | Negative | 'Heyreal ai' is searched 210 times a month and brings 67 visits; 'candy ai' brings this site 1,065. Its traffic comes from ranking on other brands' names (GirlfriendGPT, PepHop, Juicy AI, Perchance) with comparison pages, and its own name's search volume fell from 320 to 70 in a year.My test: Agree. I found it the way everyone does, on a page about a different site; the brand has no search identity of its own. |

For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.
HeyReal AI Review | Best AI Video Generator ?RT Coupons · 1y ago · 3:49 · 88 viewsPositive · what the video says
A four-minute affiliate read-through from a coupon channel (88 views), titled 'Best AI Video Generator?' for a site with no video feature. It describes 'highly realistic unfiltered AI characters', pre-made personas including 'digital versions of famous people', full customisation of looks, personality and interests, and 'no filters'. The useful part is the plan card as it stood a year ago: $3.9, $7.9 and $19.9 a month for 1,000, 5,000 and unlimited messages with 2K, 4K and 8K chat memory and 75, 150 or 360 'image unlock props', and a free tier with a three-day memory and no props. The reviewer calls the $7.9 tier 'the free plan' by mistake and pushes the discount link three times.
My read: A price list with a discount link attached, and the prices have since tripled. I partly disagree with the figures as stated: they are the annual-plan equivalents, and the monthly rates today are $12.99, $19.99 and $49.99 with the image props cut to 5, 10 and 20. I disagree with the title outright; there is no video generator.
HeyReal AI: Customizable Virtual Companions PlatformAI Agent Store · 1y ago · 8:28 · 48 viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
An eight-minute 'deep dive' by two synthetic podcast voices reading an AI Agent Store directory entry aloud. They repeat the listing's language ('realistic and unfiltered conversational experiences', NSFW capabilities 'without predefined conversational boundaries', 'self-directed role-playing scenarios'), speculate that creative writers and shy people might use it, and cite an 'autonomy rating of 83%' and a 'popularity level of 78%' from the directory's own scoring. They note it is freemium and closed source. Nobody in the video has opened the site.
My read: Zero weight. I disagree with treating an 83% autonomy score as information; it is a directory's house number for a listing the directory wants clicks on. The only thing the video confirms is how the site describes itself: unfiltered, NSFW-capable, customisable, which my test bears out and which is also true of fifty rivals.
How to Create AI Avatars Using HeyReal AIRT Coupons · 10mo ago · 2:53 · 6 viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A three-minute walkthrough (6 views) of the character creator from the same coupon channel: nickname, gender, a one-line description, an avatar either uploaded or generated in a realistic or anime model from a text prompt, tags (game, anime, fictional), a greeting, a personality paragraph, a 'current environment' line, and a public or private toggle. It shows the whole creation flow takes about two minutes and that the avatar generator is built in, then returns to the discount link.
My read: Accurate and thin, like the creator itself. I agree the flow is two minutes, and that is the point: there is no backstory system, no example dialogue, no memory notes, just a personality paragraph. For a site whose pitch is custom characters, the creator is the shallowest I have used in this category.
What the videos add up to
Reading across the 3 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.
Of the 3 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is positive, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative.
Three videos, 142 views between them, none by a person who tested the site. Two are from a coupon channel pushing a discount link (one positive, one a neutral tutorial); the third is a synthetic-voice 'deep dive' reading a directory entry. No test, no opinion that cost anyone anything.
What they establish: the site sells unfiltered, NSFW-capable custom characters with realistic or anime avatars generated in the creator, and it sold them a year ago at $3.9 to $19.9 a month on annual terms with 'image unlock props' as the meter. What they miss: that the monthly prices have since risen to $12.99, $19.99 and $49.99, that the monthly props were cut to 5, 10 and 20, and that the 'video generator' in one title does not exist.
For a buyer the record is useless, so the test has to do the work. My month is below, and the one Reddit post from the brand's own subreddit is the only other first-hand account anywhere.
What gets praised
- Unfiltered, NSFW-capable characters with no conversational boundaries (2 of the 3 videos, both repeating the site's copy)
- A built-in avatar generator with realistic and anime models (1 video)
- Cheap annual plans from the equivalent of $3.9 a month (1 video, a year ago)
What gets criticised
- Nobody in any video has used the product (3 videos)
- A 'video generator' in the title that the site does not have (1 video)
- Prices quoted as monthly that were annual equivalents and have since tripled (1 video)
- An 83% 'autonomy rating' presented as a finding (1 video)

r/HeyRealAI_Official · u/AbrocomaBest4072 · April 1, 2025 · 1 upvotes · 1 comments · open on Reddit
Positive · what the thread says
The only post in the brand's own subreddit with any content, April 2025, one upvote. The reviewer likes the simple left-hand interface, the character creator (upload or generate, wants more tags), and two specific things: replies arrive 'faster than the competition' and each one comes with an image 'based on the situation', and a chat-settings menu that lets you switch between five AI models mid-conversation if you dislike a reply. The one comment asks how to get 100 points, which is the site's check-in currency.
“HeyRealAI replies faster than the competition, and they each reply with an image based on the situation, which is a plus for me.” — u/AbrocomaBest4072, +1
My read: Two of the three claims held in my test. Replies were quick and the model switcher is a real feature I used daily. I partly disagree on the images: one arrives with each reply, blurred, and un-blurring it spends an 'image unlock prop', so the picture-per-message is a meter dressed as a gift. The comment about points is the free tier in one line.
What Reddit adds up to
Reading across the 1 threads, weighted by upvotes.
Of the 1 threads I read, 1 is positive and none is negative.
One thread, kept because it is a real user describing the product, and it lives in r/HeyRealAI_Official with one upvote. The reviewer likes the speed, the image with every reply and the ability to switch between five AI models; the only reply asks how to earn the site's check-in points. No other subreddit mentions the brand.
What it confirms: fast replies, a model switcher, a picture with each message, a simple creator. What it leaves out: that the pictures are blurred until you spend a prop, that memory is a 2K to 8K context window sold by tier, and that the free tier is topped up by daily check-ins, which is what the one commenter was asking about.
The null result matters here as it did for angel.ai. A site with 12,000 search visits a month and a 2,800-member Discord has produced one Reddit post in its own forum. People arrive by searching for other brands, as the keyword data shows, and leave without talking about this one.
What gets praised
- Replies faster than rivals (1 thread)
- An image with every reply, matched to the scene (1 thread)
- Switch between five AI chat models mid-conversation (1 thread)
What gets criticised
- No other user has posted, replied or disagreed in eighteen months (1 thread)
- The only reply is a request for free points, the free tier's currency (1 thread)
- The image-per-reply claim omits that images are blurred until a prop is spent (1 thread, from my test)
In the press
The latest articles that mention HeyReal, newest first. For each one: what it says, then my take on its view of the brand.
What people type into Google before they sign up
Google's own suggestions after "heyreal ai" and the related searches Google Trends ranks highest over the last 12 months, retrieved October 7, 2026.
These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.
| Theme | Searches | What it tells me |
|---|---|---|
| Price and free access | "heyreal ai apk", "heyreal ai download apk", "heyreal ai mod apk" | People want a way in without paying. Whether the free tier is usable decides whether they sign up. |
| Apps and where to get it | "heyreal ai app", "heyreal ai app download", "heyreal ai download" | People expect a mobile app. Where none exists, these searches end at clones and look-alike domains. |
| Other | "heyreal ai bot", "heyreal ai تنزيل" | Related searches that do not fit a theme. |
| Trust and reviews | "heyreal ai review" | Shopping for a verdict before paying. This is the traffic Part 2 competes for. |
My take
Everyone who types the name wants the Android app, and most of them want it free. Eight of the nine autocomplete suggestions are 'apk', 'app', 'app download', 'download', 'download apk', 'mod apk', 'bot' and an Arabic 'download'; only 'review' is a buyer's question. A 'mod apk' search is someone trying to unlock the paid tier without paying, and that is the audience the daily check-in coins were built for.
Google Trends has the name at zero. It registered small bursts in November 2024 and May to June 2025 and has been flat since November 2025; the only related queries are Candy AI and Janitor AI, which is where the site's visitors were actually going. US searches for the name fell from 320 to 70 a month in a year, so the brand is less known now than it was.
The traffic is other people's names. The site's biggest keyword is 'candy ai' at #27, then 'girlfriendgpt', 'pephop', 'juicy ai' and 'perchance ai girlfriend', nearly 4,000 keywords of comparison and alternative pages. That audience is borrowed, it swings with the brands it rides on, and it does not search for HeyReal afterwards.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach
How much traffic HeyReal gets, and where it ranks
How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.
On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, heyreal.ai ranked #3,541,418 among every domain worldwide, up 687,963 places since September 12, 2026. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #60, behind VirtuGF and Angel.ai.

Its positions on the category searches
heyreal.ai's Google positions on the category's searches. DataForSEO, United States, September 2026.
Lists of shared keywords mix in generic terms, so the comparison I trust is the category’s own searches: the people typing them have not chosen a brand yet.
| Search | US searches / month | Position |
|---|---|---|
| “girlfriendgpt” | 40,500 | #14 |
| “perchance ai girlfriend” | 6,600 | #14 |
How I read it. 4% of this site’s top-keyword traffic comes from people typing its own name, so the category searches are what bring in people who have never heard of it. Not ranking for "ai girlfriend" itself means the site depends on its own name and the longer searches for new users.

Reading the data
What the numbers tell me about HeyReal
First the facts, each one derived from the table above and nothing else. Then the story I read in them.
The facts
| Finding | Detail |
|---|---|
| Traffic up 71% on the month | Estimated organic search traffic in September 2026 was 11,977 visits worldwide, +71.2% versus August 2026 and +29.8% versus September 2025. |
| A 52% collapse, then a recovery to 83% of peak | Traffic fell from 14,489 visits in January 2026 to 6,995 in August 2026, then climbed back to 83% of that earlier peak by September 2026. |
| 26% of visits come from the United States | The United States accounts for 3,070 visits, followed by India and Canada. |
| 70 people a month search the brand name in the US | Google Ads data puts US searches for "heyreal ai" at about 70 a month in August 2026 (-78.1% since September 2025), and worldwide searches at about 590. |
| 4% of top-keyword traffic is branded | 4% of the traffic from the top 10 US keywords comes from people typing the brand name, which indicates a meaningful share of visits from generic, non-branded searches. |
| 1.1K referring domains, Domain Rating 31 | 1,084 websites link to heyreal.ai, +303.0% over the last 12 months; its Domain Rating by Ahrefs is 31 and its DataForSEO domain rank is 45 (48 a year ago). |
| #60 among the AI girlfriend sites I track | HeyReal sits #60 among the sites I track on the combined data; it holds no tracked position for "ai girlfriend", so its reach across the internet carries more of the weight. Among all domains on the internet it ranks 3,541,418th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, up 687,963 places since September 12, 2026. |
| YouTube's entire record is 142 views: two affiliate clips and an AI-narrated directory listing, and nobody who used it | Of the 3 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is positive, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube has no review of HeyReal, only two affiliate clips and a synthetic podcast reading a directory listing; the one useful fact in them, the price list, is a year out of date and a third of today's monthly rates. |
My take: the story in the numbers
What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.
A small site that grew fast on paper and then wobbled. Worldwide organic visits sat between 2,700 and 4,800 a month from October 2024 to July 2025, climbed from 6,600 in August 2025 to a peak of 14,500 in January 2026, held near 14,000 through April, then fell to 7,000 in August before jumping 71% to 12,000 in September 2026. Year on year that is +30%. US visits ran 1,000 to 3,200 to 5,300 (April and May 2026) to 2,100 in August and 3,100 now.
None of it is the brand. The site's biggest keyword is 'candy ai', where it ranks #27 and takes 1,065 visits a month; next come 'girlfriendgpt', 'pephop', 'juicy ai', 'perchance ai girlfriend', 'iask ai' and 'nextday ai roleplay'. It ranks for nearly 4,000 keywords, almost all of them other products' names on comparison and alternative pages, and 'heyreal ai' itself brings 67 visits. Roughly 3% of its top-keyword traffic is branded. This is an SEO audience, and it is why the line moves when Candy's rankings move rather than when HeyReal does anything.
Demand for the name is falling while the traffic grows, which settles what the traffic is. US searches for 'heyreal ai' were 320 a month in September 2025, 390 in April 2026 and 70 in August, down 78%. Google Trends shows two small bursts, November 2024 and May to June 2025, and nothing since November 2025. The Discord has 2,808 members and 94 online, the subreddit has one post, TikTok has 606 followers. People find the site by looking for something else and do not come back by name.
The links tell the same story in a different register. Referring domains rose from 34 to 1,084 in two years, with the steep part (269 to 838) between September 2025 and February 2026, exactly the months the traffic climbed; that is a directory and listing campaign landing at the same time as the comparison pages. Before it, backlinks spiked from 800 to 70,000 between April and June 2025 and were back under 7,000 by July, a burst of sitewide links that vanished as fast as it came. The DataForSEO domain rank went 33 to 52 to 45 and has not moved since November 2025; Ahrefs has the DR at 31.
The summer dip and the September rebound are the risk of a borrowed audience. US visits halved from May to August 2026 and the worldwide line lost half its peak; September recovered most of it in one month. Nothing about the product changed in that window that any source records. Pages that rank on rival names move when those rivals' own pages move, and Candy, the biggest source, had its own ranking wobble in September. A site that lives at #27 for someone else's name will keep doing this.
Verdict. Holding steady on the scorecard (traffic +30%, referring domains up, Tranco slightly better from 4.2 million to 3.5 million, which is still no measurable reach) and shrinking as a brand (name searches down 78%, Trends at zero, one Reddit post). The product record is a year-old affiliate price list and one subreddit review, and the price has tripled on monthly plans since the list was made. The condition that would change the reading is the name: if 'heyreal ai' searches climb back above 300 a month and stay there, the traffic has a floor of its own. Until then it is Candy's long tail.

Search traffic, worldwide
Visits from Google results each month, 24 months.
The shape is the story: a 52% fall between January 2026 and August 2026, then a climb back to 83% of the old peak by September 2026. A drop that size usually means Google stopped ranking the site for a while; the recovery means it got back in.

In short
What I learned, and what I expect next
Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: HeyReal is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.
How it is performing
HeyReal drew an estimated 11,977 visits from Google search in September 2026, +71.2% on August 2026 and +29.8% on a year earlier. The year-on-year figure flatters it because it is measured against the August 2026 low; against the January 2026 peak it is at 83%. Over the last quarter the trend is slipping (-27.9% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #60 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind VirtuGF and Angel.ai.
Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: there are no reviews, and the trend is a comparison-page audience that arrived searching for Candy AI, GirlfriendGPT and PepHop. What the site does well in my test (fast replies, a model switcher, an on-scene image with every message, a two-minute creator) gets a visitor to try it; what it does badly (a 2K to 8K window sold as memory, images blurred behind a prop meter, 1,000-message caps, monthly prices three times the annual rate, and no company name anywhere) is why name searches fell 78% while visits rose 30%. The traffic will follow the rival-name rankings, and the September jump is as fragile as the August fall.
What changed
Brand demand is the standout: about 70 US searches a month (-78.1% year on year) and 590 worldwide. Traffic is up faster than brand demand, which usually means the site is winning generic searches rather than relying on its name. In popularity terms it has climbed 687,963 places since September 12, 2026. Links are still being earned (+303.0% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 3 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is positive, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube has no review of HeyReal, only two affiliate clips and a synthetic podcast reading a directory listing; the one useful fact in them, the price list, is a year out of date and a third of today's monthly rates. Reddit's whole record on HeyReal is one upvoted-once post in the brand's own subreddit praising fast replies, per-message images and a model switcher, with a single comment asking how to get free points.
What I expect
The indicators point in different directions, so I expect HeyReal to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 8.8K visits a month and a position around #60 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 8 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month
- Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
- Whether US brand searches move out of the 70 band they have sat in.
- Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.

Part 7 · Method
How I measured all this
I bought a HeyReal membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.
- Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
- From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
- Brand search volume
- Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
- Domain Rating
- Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
- Popularity rank
- The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
- Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
- Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
- Hands-on testing
- I purchased a HeyReal membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
- Rounding and independence
- Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or HeyReal.
Part 8 · Final verdict
One last word on HeyReal
HeyReal is a small, anonymous character-chat site that gets its visitors by ranking for other brands' names, and a month with it found a competent engine inside a bad deal. Replies are fast, switching between five models when one goes flat is a trick I wish bigger sites copied, and the picture that comes with every message is on-scene and decent. The one person who reviewed it on Reddit said the same, and the three YouTube videos add nothing because nobody in them used it.
The trade-off is the meter and the mystery. Memory is a context window sold as 2K, 4K or 8K, images are blurred until you spend one of 5, 10 or 20 monthly props, messages are capped at 1,000 or 5,000 unless you pay $49.99, and the monthly prices are three times the annual equivalents the affiliate video still quotes. I could not find out who runs it: the terms page is a 404 and the privacy policy is a nameless template. Nothing went wrong with my card, and I still would not give it a year's money.
Who should pick it: someone on the annual Standard plan who wants quick, unfiltered character chat with a picture per message and does not expect it to remember last week. Who should not: anyone who wants memory, voice, a deep character creator, a monthly plan that makes sense, or a company name on the receipt.
Where it stands today: #60 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, with 12,000 search visits a month that belong to Candy AI's and GirlfriendGPT's names rather than its own, name searches down 78% in a year, and no press or community to speak of. It stays near the bottom of my ranking; if its own name starts being searched again and the operator puts a company on the terms page, I would look at it afresh.
