Moescape AI
An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.
I bought a Moescape AI membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of moescape.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a Moescape AI membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade Moescape AI on my feel alone.
I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.
This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and Moescape AI’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.
Part 1 · What it offers
What Moescape AI offers
Moescape AI (moescape.ai) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it, with AI-generated images, video on top of text chat. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.
- Features
- Anime character customization, NSFW chat functionality, NSFW image generation, AI video generation (image-to-video animation), Mobile app, Browser-based access
- Free tier
- New accounts get 100 Mochi plus 50 free Mochi a day that expires after 24 hours, and the free chat models (Nephra 12B, Moedark) can be used without a subscription, with Mochi needed for images, video and the premium models.
- Plans
- $9.99/mo
- Extras
- Monthly tiers now span Plus $9.99, Pro $14.99, Premium $29.99, and a new Platinum tier at $39.99. New users get daily free Mochi credits (the platform's currency for chat and generation), so there's a genuine if limited free-to-use path before subscribing. No crypto payments. No affiliate program.
- Operator
- Moe AI Limited (the App Store seller is listed as Moescape Technology Corp), Kowloon, Hong Kong, since September 2024, as the rebrand of Yodayo; the domain was registered in April 2024; domain registered April 2024
- Best for
- Anime-style NSFW companion enthusiasts who want image generation with text interaction and prefer app-based experiences
- Not for
- Realism-seeking users, those wanting voice messaging, or users requiring free trial options
Features and prices from the platform’s own pages; operator from press coverage (moescape.ai terms of service and privacy policy, docs.moescape.ai, Apple App Store listing, Google Play listing, r/YodayoAI rebrand announcement). Official site and social accounts are listed at the end of the page.
Part 2 · What people say
What people say about Moescape AI
I bought a membership and tested Moescape AI myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 5 YouTube videos with 89,433 views between them, 4 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 0 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 3 video transcripts (177 words), 4 threads with their top comments, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.
Favourability at a glance
Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.
| Source | Read | Pos.Positive | Mixed | Neut.Neutral | Neg.Negative | Fav.Favourable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube videostranscripts read in full | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 0% |
| Reddit threadspost and top comments | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 25% |
| All sources | 7 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 0 | 14% |
In one line: YouTube videos 0% positive, 0 negative of 3; Reddit threads 25% positive, 0 negative of 4. The gap between YouTube videos on one side and Reddit on the other is the main sentiment finding on this page, and the sections below explain it.
Each feature, and what people think of it
What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.
| Feature | Verdict | What people say |
|---|---|---|
| Chat and roleplay (Tavern) | Positive | One independent video sells it as a Character AI alternative in its title and the other chats up a Demon Slayer character who stays in her canon setting, and the two substantive Reddit threads praise the roleplay: characters that 'drive the scene forward instead of just reacting' (1 thread, 3 posters) and a premium model that holds messy multi-character conflict (1 thread). Nobody describes it as a girlfriend app.My test: Agree. Tavern is a roleplay engine with model switching and system prompts, and it stayed in character for me across long scenes; it is less hand-holding than a companion app and expects you to set things up. |
| Free chat models (Nephra 12B, Moedark) | Positive | The most-upvoted comments on the brand are about the free models: Moedark is 'way more put together' and moves the story on, Nephra 12B 'hits harder' and knows anime lore, and a year-long subscriber says the free model impressed him (1 thread, 3 posters). The caveat is Nephra's tendency to derail (1 thread). My test: Agree. Moedark was my default by the end of the test and it respected a lorebook; Nephra was more fun for a short scene and less reliable past that. |
| Premium models and Mochi cost | Mixed | Opus 4.8 is reviewed as excellent for 'high-conflict, emotionally messy' scenes but 'not cheap' and aimed at subscribers with monthly allowances (1 thread); a commenter in the same thread says the free output is indistinguishable and calls the charge greed. The docs confirm that 'high-quality LLM models' draw Mochi per message. My test: Partly disagree with the commenter. The premium models were clearly better at juggling several characters in my test; for one-on-one chat the difference was small enough that I would not spend Mochi on them. |
| Memory and lorebooks | Positive | The official Lorebook Hub video (1,077 views) and the docs describe community-shared lorebooks added to a chat with one click, with scan depth settings; the free model thread says Moedark 'handles trackers and lorebooks' well (1 thread). No source reports memory failures, but none runs a multi-week test either. My test: Agree. A lorebook entry surfaced in conversation when its keyword came up and a character detail held across sessions in my test; without a lorebook, memory is ordinary context-window memory and fades. |
| Image generation | Positive | The brand's own image generation promo is the most-watched video on it, 75,345 views, listing text-to-image, image-to-image, batch generation, inpainting, ControlNet, LoRA training and a Model Hub; the docs add Flux and PonyXL models and an upscaler. No reviewer in the dossier rates the output, and no Reddit thread discusses it at all.My test: Agree. The anime output is strong and the toolset is closer to a hosted Stable Diffusion front end than to a companion app's selfie button; it is also where the daily free Mochi goes fastest. |
| Video, voice and music generation | Mixed | Not one video, thread or article mentions them. The site's menu lists Video Gen, Voice, Music Gen and a Chat Editing tool, and the docs cover AI video generation; the only published opinion on voice is this site's own earlier review, which found no voice feature at all.My test: Disagree with the earlier review: the Voice and Video Gen tabs exist now. They are generation tools you point at an image or a script, not a companion who calls you, and none of the people I read has tested them. |
| Characters, creators and community | Positive | Anyone can publish a Tavern bot, as the bot-share thread shows, and the docs pay creators a 20% commission on messages once a public bot passes 4,000 interactions in 90 days, plus Mochi for art milestones and weekly Discord contests. The one readable independent clip chats with a named Demon Slayer character, which is what the library is built around. My test: Agree. The character library is anime-first and deep, and the creator incentives are the most generous I have seen on a site this size; the price is that quality varies bot to bot. |
| Free tier and daily Mochi | Positive | The docs give new accounts 100 Mochi plus 50 free Mochi a day (expiring after 24 hours), and the free chat models need no subscription; the Reddit thread on them is the most positive thing written about the brand (1 thread). Nobody in the sources complains about a paywall arriving mid-chat.My test: Agree. Free chat on Moedark ran all month for me without a cap; the daily Mochi ran out within one image session, which is the real limit of the free tier. |
| Price: subscriptions and Mochi packs | Mixed | The App Store listing shows Plus $9.99, Pro $14.99, Premium $29.99 and Platinum $39.99 a month, Premium Annual $269.99, and Mochi packs from 550 for $4.99 to 17,000 for $99.99. The only price opinion in the sources is that the premium models are 'not cheap' in Mochi (1 thread). The brand's search CPC is $0.52, a fraction of the category leaders'.My test: Agree. Chat alone is cheap or free; the bill arrives if you generate images and video daily or run frontier models, and the four tiers make it hard to know which one you need before you have used it. |
| Privacy, billing and legitimacy | Mixed | No source raises a scam, billing or safety complaint, which is rare in this category. The legal pages name Moe AI Limited in Kowloon, Hong Kong (the App Store seller is Moescape Technology Corp), require users to be over 18, and say chats may be sent to third-party model providers; refunds are 'only applicable under exceptional circumstances' and must be requested within 7 days. Apps exist on both stores, with 500K+ Google Play installs. My test: Agree, with a caveat. Sign-up and cancellation were uneventful, and real apps in both stores are reassuring; but assume chats are processed off-site by whichever model you pick, and do not count on a refund. |
How I read this
The most-watched videos, and what they actually say
For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.

Character ai Alternative - RIZZING UP Ai Chatbots On Moescape AiAI HAVEN · 1y ago · 7:47 · 8.3K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A seven-minute chat recording from a small channel whose title sells Moescape as a Character AI alternative. The captions are thirty words of the backing track, too short to judge, so there is no spoken commentary: what is on screen is one long conversation with an anime character, with no narration and no look at pricing, memory or the free tier. The useful signal is the comparison in the title: Character AI, not an AI girlfriend site, which is how its 8,342 viewers found it and the audience the Reddit threads below belong to as well.
My read: A recording, not a review, and I partly disagree with the label. Tavern does work as a Character AI replacement, and the free models are good enough that the comparison is fair. But Moescape is an image and video generator with a chat room attached, and anyone arriving for chat alone will find the Mochi currency pulls them towards the art tools.
Rizzing Up Mitsuri Because I'm Bored 😏 | Moescape AIFExd · 1y ago · 1:05 · 4.2K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A one-minute 'rizz speedrun': the uploader opens a chat with Mitsuri from Demon Slayer, says he is lost, then 'lost in your eyes', asks how to plan their wedding without her number and how to start a family without a wedding. The bot stays in character throughout, welcoming him to the Butterfly Mansion, calling him 'quite the charmer' and 'quite flirty', and saying yes to the family. There is no verdict and no look at the site beyond the chat window, and the 4,179 views come from the character's name rather than the brand's.
My read: Entertainment, and it tells me who the audience is. Fans of specific anime characters who want them to play along, which is the traffic the keyword data shows arriving through character names. I agree that this is Moescape's natural use, and the bot knowing its own setting is a small point in Tavern's favour; whether it holds character over a long session is a question a one-minute clip cannot answer.
Introducing Lorebooks on Moescape AIMoescape AI · 1y ago · 1:02 · 1.1K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
An official one-minute announcement of the Lorebook Hub from the brand's own channel. The captions are five words of noise, too short to judge, so what I have is the feature itself: browse public lorebooks shared by other creators, add one to a chat or a character with one click, and keep your own private if you want. It is a product note, not an opinion, and its 1,077 views say the feature matters to a core of creators rather than the wider audience. The three videos from this channel together explain where the company's effort goes: tooling.
My read: Marketing, but the feature is real. Lorebooks are how a Tavern character keeps world detail straight, and in my test a lorebook entry surfaced in conversation when its keyword came up, which is more than most companion sites offer for memory. I agree with the pitch; I would add that setting one up is work the casual user will skip.
Introducing Chat Editing Feature on Moescape AIMoescape AI · 1y ago · 0:51 · 490 viewsThis video has no captions, so I only have its title to go on.
What the videos add up to
Reading across the 3 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.
Of the 3 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 3 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative.
Five videos, 89,433 views between them, and not one is a review. Three are the brand's own announcements (image generation, Lorebooks, Chat Editing) and two are small-channel chat recordings. Only one, the Mitsuri clip, has captions with any speech in them; the other two captioned videos came back as a few words of backing track, and the two official promos carry no captions at all. Nobody tests pricing, memory, the free tier or the mobile app on camera.
The video that explains the brand is the one with no words: the official image generation promo has 75,345 views, 84% of the total, while the chat clips have 12,521 between them. People come to Moescape's channel for the art tools (text-to-image, inpainting, ControlNet, LoRA training) and the Tavern chat is the second act.
Both independent uploaders frame it as a Character AI alternative, one in its title and one by chatting up a Demon Slayer character with pickup lines; the bot in that clip stays in its own setting and plays along. That is the right lens for this profile: Moescape competes for roleplay fans leaving Character AI, not for the 'ai girlfriend' searcher, and the keyword data further down shows the same thing.
What gets praised
- Chatting with named anime characters in Tavern, with the bot staying in its canon setting and playing along (both independent videos; shown on screen in 1)
- Positioned as a Character AI alternative (1 video, in its title)
- Image tools: text-to-image, inpainting, ControlNet, LoRA training, Model Hub (the most-watched video, 75,345 views)
- Lorebooks shared by the community and added with one click (1 official video)
What gets criticised
- No independent review: 3 of the 5 videos are the brand's own channel and the other 2 are chat recordings (all 5)
- Nothing on price, Mochi, the free tier or memory in any of the videos (all 5)
- Captions usable on only 1 of the 3 captioned videos; the other 2 are a few words of noise and the 2 official promos carry none (4 of 5 unverifiable)
- The independent clips are entertainment rather than tests, one of them a one-minute 'rizz speedrun' of four pickup lines (2 videos)

Mixed · what the thread says
A detailed test of Opus 4.8, the premium frontier model offered on Moescape and Yodayo, in 'high-conflict, emotionally messy party scenarios with betrayal, competing loyalties, and no clear moral resolution'. The reviewer says it 'is not cheap', is aimed at subscribers with monthly allowances, and that 'every bean buys you a lot of precision and emotional consistency'; it handled the scenario 'extremely well' where weaker models flatten characters. The one dissenting comment says the free model's chats are indistinguishable and that charging for premium models 'is just their greed'. Another asks about Moedark 2 and Gemma 4 instead.
“First things first: it is not cheap. This model is clearly aimed at paying users and those on monthly subscription allowances.” — u/Kisame83, +12
My read: I agree with the reviewer and disagree with the commenter. In my test the premium models held a three-character scene with conflicting motives that the free models lost within a few turns. Where the commenter has a point is value: for ordinary one-on-one romance, the free Moedark model is close enough that the Mochi cost of Opus is hard to justify.

Positive · what the thread says
A Character AI refugee compares the two free chat models. Nephra 12B 'hits harder' emotionally and is better for NSFW but derails roleplays and ignores pacing; Moedark is 'way more put together', moves the story forward and handles trackers and lorebooks. Both +4 comments agree: one says Nephra keeps multiple characters consistent and has anime knowledge baked in (it introduced Genos unprompted), the other is a year-long subscriber who tried the free Moedark and was 'genuinely surprised at how good it is', with characters that 'drive the scene forward instead of just reacting'. Nobody in the thread asks for a paid model.
“The way it talks feels natural and engaging, and the characters actually act and drive the scene forward instead of just reacting.” — u/Infinite_Pie3743, +4
My read: The most useful thread on the brand, and I mostly agree. Moedark drove scenes forward for me too and respected a lorebook. I partly disagree on NSFW: Nephra's 'edge' is the same thing that made it derail my longer scenes, so for anything past a quick session Moedark was the better adult model as well.

Neutral · what the thread says
A new creator shares their first public Tavern bot on the official subreddit, two months after the rebrand, still calling the site Yodayo in the post. The replies are housekeeping: a moderator notes the link is missing, another user explains that 'only moescape links work on Reddit', and the poster admits to being new. The only opinion in the thread is a drive-by plug for a rival, Kryvane, for 'way better conversation depth'. It shows the creator pipeline working (anyone can publish a bot) and the brand confusion the rebrand left behind, and little else.
“What's the bot link? Only moescape links work on Reddit though” — u/biranai, +2
My read: Thin, but two things in it are true. Publishing a bot takes minutes and the official subreddit is active enough that a moderator answers within the thread. I agree with the implied point that the Yodayo name lingers: a year on, searches for 'moescape vs yodayo' still autocomplete.

Neutral · what the thread says
The official announcement, 19 September 2024, that Yodayo is rebranding to Moescape AI, written by the community manager. It explains the name ('moe', the Japanese word for cosy warmth), promises 'stunning AI art' and 'lively AI companions', and lists the changes: Mochi replaces beans as the currency, Yodaland becomes Moeland, and the Yodachan mascot becomes Moechan. Zero upvotes and zero comments on a subreddit that was being wound down. It matters for this profile because it dates the brand: the domain was registered in April 2024 and the traffic series starts the month after this post.
“Mochi is replacing beans as our magical currency! Grab some sweet mochi to give your creativity a tasty boost!” — u/skeptical_pochita, +0
My read: The origin document, and the pitch has held. 'AI art' is listed before 'AI companions', which is still the order the site runs in. I agree with the framing; the one thing the post does not say is that Yodayo would keep running alongside Moescape, which the Opus thread below shows it has.
What Reddit adds up to
Reading across the 4 threads, weighted by upvotes.
Of the 4 threads I read, 1 is positive, 1 is mixed, 2 are neutral and none is negative.
Four threads, all small, and the two that matter live in r/CharacterAIrunaways rather than any AI girlfriend subreddit. One is positive (the free model comparison, 10 upvotes), one mixed (the Opus 4.8 review, 12 upvotes), and the other two are housekeeping: a creator's bot share and the 2024 rebrand announcement. Nobody is asking 'is it a scam' or complaining about billing, which is unusual for this category.
The praise is about the models. The free Moedark model drives scenes forward and handles lorebooks, Nephra 12B has emotional edge and anime knowledge baked in, and a paying subscriber of a year says the free model impressed him. The premium Opus 4.8 is called excellent at complex, multi-character conflict.
The criticism is about what the premium tier costs, in Mochi rather than dollars: the Opus reviewer says it 'is not cheap' and a commenter calls charging for it greed. The other recurring note is confusion: posters still say Yodayo, both sites run the same models, and one commenter uses the thread to plug a rival.
What is missing tells its own story. No thread discusses images, video, voice or the mobile app, and none describes the companion as a girlfriend. Reddit sees Moescape as a place to run roleplay models with your own system prompt, which is a narrower and more technical audience than the one the 'ai girlfriend' search sends elsewhere.
What gets praised
- Free Moedark model moves the story forward and handles lorebooks and trackers (1 thread, 3 posters)
- Nephra 12B keeps several characters consistent, has anime knowledge built in, and is the better free model for NSFW (1 thread, 2 posters)
- Opus 4.8 handles high-conflict, multi-character scenes with precision (1 thread)
- Anyone can publish a Tavern bot and the official subreddit moderates actively (1 thread)
What gets criticised
- Premium models cost a lot of Mochi and are aimed at subscribers with allowances (1 thread, the reviewer and a commenter)
- Nephra 12B derails roleplays and ignores pacing (1 thread)
- A commenter says free and paid outputs are indistinguishable and calls the premium pricing greed (1 comment)
- Yodayo and Moescape still run side by side under two names, which confuses posters (2 threads)
- A rival (Kryvane) plugged inside the official subreddit (1 thread)

What people type into Google before they sign up
Google's own suggestions after "moescape" and the related searches Google Trends ranks highest over the last 12 months, retrieved October 7, 2026.
These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.
| Theme | Searches | What it tells me |
|---|---|---|
| Other | "moescape ai", "moescape ai website", "moescape si", "moescape login" | Related searches that do not fit a theme. |
| Alternatives | "moescape vs yodayo", "moescape ai alternative" | Comparison shopping. Rising rival names here mean the decision is not made yet. |
| Trust and reviews | "moescape ai reddit" | Shopping for a verdict before paying. This is the traffic Part 2 competes for. |
| Apps and where to get it | "moescape app" | People expect a mobile app. Where none exists, these searches end at clones and look-alike domains. |
| Features people want | "moescape ai chat" | Which parts of the product people search for by name: what they have heard about, or what they could not find inside. |
| Price and free access | "moescape ai apk" | People want a way in without paying. Whether the free tier is usable decides whether they sign up. |

My take
People already know the name; they want the app, the comparison and the login. The autocomplete next to 'moescape' is 'moescape ai reddit', 'moescape vs yodayo', 'moescape app', 'moescape ai alternative', 'moescape ai apk' and 'moescape login'. That is a returning audience checking opinions and finding its way back in, not a first-time 'what is it' crowd. The 'vs yodayo' search a year after the rebrand says the two-name arrangement still confuses people, and I agree with them: both sites run the same models.
The app and APK searches have somewhere to land, unlike most of this category. Moescape has real iOS and Android apps (500K+ Google Play installs), so 'moescape ai apk' is a user looking for a sideload rather than a clone, which removes the look-alike risk other brands carry.
The rising queries are character-chat apps, not girlfriend sites: Swerve AI and Zeta AI are breakouts, Emochi is up 500%, Chai 300%, Polybuzz 250%, and the top related terms are Yodayo, Character AI and Janitor AI. Moescape is being compared with roleplay apps, which matches Reddit. Google Trends for the brand itself has fallen from its October 2025 peak to 37 today, so the shopping around is happening while interest in the name cools.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach
How much traffic Moescape AI gets, and where it ranks
How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.
On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, moescape.ai ranked #51,675 among every domain worldwide, down 2,860 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 50,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #24, behind Yodayo and Lovescape.

Reading the data
What the numbers tell me about Moescape AI
First the facts, each one derived from the table above and nothing else. Then the story I read in them.
The facts
| Finding | Detail |
|---|---|
| Traffic up 12% on the month | Estimated organic search traffic in September 2026 was 50,908 visits worldwide, +11.7% versus August 2026 and +26.8% versus September 2025. |
| A 53% collapse, then a recovery to 116% of peak | Traffic fell from 43,784 visits in December 2024 to 20,440 in February 2025, then climbed back to 116% of that earlier peak by September 2026. |
| 27% of visits come from the United States | The United States accounts for 13,646 visits, followed by Indonesia and India. |
| 22.2K people a month search the brand name in the US | Google Ads data puts US searches for "moescape" at about 22,200 a month in August 2026 (0.0% since September 2025), and worldwide searches at about 90,500. |
| 68% of top-keyword traffic is branded | 68% of the traffic from the top 10 US keywords comes from people typing the brand name, which indicates a meaningful share of visits from generic, non-branded searches. |
| 1.8K referring domains, Domain Rating 39 | 1,839 websites link to moescape.ai, +225.5% over the last 12 months; its Domain Rating by Ahrefs is 39 and its DataForSEO domain rank is 54 (65 a year ago). |
| #24 among the AI girlfriend sites I track | Moescape AI sits #24 among the sites I track on the combined data; it holds no tracked position for "ai girlfriend", so its reach across the internet carries more of the weight. Among all domains on the internet it ranks 51,675th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, down 2,860 places since August 31, 2026; Google's Chrome UX Report places it in the top 50,000 most visited sites worldwide. |
| YouTube shows a Character AI alternative and an art tool, with no independent review in sight | Of the 3 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 3 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube offers no real review of Moescape, only the brand's own feature promos and two anime chat clips that treat it as a Character AI alternative, with the image tools drawing 84% of the views. |
My take: the story in the numbers
What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.
This is a one-year-old brand on a two-year-old audience. The domain was registered in April 2024 and Yodayo announced the rebrand on 19 September 2024. The traffic series shows the handover: 9,347 visits in October 2024, 41,030 in November as Yodayo's rankings moved across, then a settling to 20,440 by February 2025 as the duplicate pages shook out. From there it climbed almost every month to a peak of 54,506 in December 2025. That first jump is inheritance, not growth, so I read the trend from early 2025.
Demand for the name is flat, and the traffic grew anyway. 'Moescape' has sat at exactly 22,200 US searches a month for eleven of the last twelve months, and Google Trends has slid from 100 in the week of 5 October 2025 to 37 now. Yet traffic is up 26.8% year on year, 40,151 to 50,908. When the name is not growing and the visits are, the visits are coming from somewhere other than the name, and the keyword list says where.
The engine is anime fandom, not AI girlfriends. 'Danbooru', a 550,000-a-month search for an anime image board, sends 3,563 visits from position 9, more than 'moescape ai' itself (3,016), and the next keywords are character names: Raven Team Leader, Bon Clay, Ubuyashiki, Arzyparzy. The sites sharing its keywords are DeviantArt, Pixiv, Tumblr, MyAnimeList and TV Tropes. Moescape does not appear in the top 20 for 'ai girlfriend' at all. Its gallery and character pages rank as a fandom site, and that is the audience the country split confirms: 17,168 US visits, then Indonesia, India, Brazil, Ukraine and the Philippines, with a search CPC of $0.52 against $3.52 for the category leader.
The 2026 dip was a ranking wobble on those fandom pages. Traffic fell from 54,506 in December 2025 to 39,832 in June 2026, a 27% slide, while brand searches did not move. The DataForSEO domain rank dropped from 65 to 47 in May 2026 at the same time, which is the signature of long-tail pages losing positions rather than people losing interest. The recovery to 50,908 in September (+11.7% on August, US traffic from 10,291 to 13,646) coincides with the rank climbing back to 54. Tranco went the other way, from 48,815 at the end of August to 51,675 on 6 October, so all-traffic reach is flat while search visits recover.
The link profile is honest until July, then something changed. Referring domains grew from 30 to 1,839 in two years with no gaps, about eight backlinks per domain, which is what earned links from galleries and guides look like. Then backlinks jumped from 13,355 in July 2026 to 24,563 in September while referring domains added only 144. Eleven thousand links from a hundred-odd new sites means a few domains linking from every page. I weight the domain line, which is steady, and I note that the September traffic recovery arrived in the same window.
Verdict. Mixed on the scorecard: traffic up on the year and recovering on the month, referring domains still climbing, but brand searches flat, Trends down 63% from its peak, Tranco slipping and the category position absent. What users say fits the numbers: the praise is for free roleplay models and image tools, which is a large audience that mostly does not pay, and 500K+ Android installs on a 22,200-a-month brand search says the same. The condition that changes the verdict is the name: if brand searches start rising, Moescape has turned fandom traffic into a brand; if the fandom rankings wobble again while Trends keeps sliding, the traffic line follows them down.

The shape is the story: a 53% fall between December 2024 and February 2025, then a climb back to 116% of the old peak by September 2026. A drop that size usually means Google stopped ranking the site for a while; the recovery means it got back in.

In short
What I learned, and what I expect next
Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: Moescape AI is growing right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.
How it is performing
Moescape AI drew an estimated 50,908 visits from Google search in September 2026, +11.7% on August 2026 and +26.8% on a year earlier. The year-on-year figure flatters it because it is measured against the February 2025 low; against the December 2024 peak it is at 116%. Over the last quarter the trend is growing (+9.5% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #24 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind Yodayo and Lovescape.
Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: the traffic line is up on the year and back within 7% of its December 2025 peak, but it is being carried by anime fandom keywords rather than by the brand name, which has been flat for a year. What users praise, the free Moedark and Nephra models and the image tools, is what keeps a large free audience returning without feeding brand searches, and what they criticise, the Mochi cost of premium models and the lingering Yodayo confusion, is the kind of thing that caps conversion rather than visits. The thing I watch next month is the brand's own Trends line, which has fallen from 100 to 37 while rival character-chat apps break out; that is the gap between an audience and a brand, and it has not closed yet.
What changed
Brand demand is the standout: about 22,200 US searches a month (0.0% year on year) and 90,500 worldwide. Traffic is up faster than brand demand, which usually means the site is winning generic searches rather than relying on its name. In popularity terms it has slipped 2,860 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+225.5% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 3 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 3 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube offers no real review of Moescape, only the brand's own feature promos and two anime chat clips that treat it as a Character AI alternative, with the image tools drawing 84% of the views. Reddit's small Moescape conversation is about roleplay models, not girlfriends: the free Moedark and Nephra models earn genuine praise, the premium Opus tier is called excellent but expensive in Mochi, and nobody raises billing or safety complaints.
What I expect
With demand, traffic and links moving the same way, I expect Moescape AI to keep gaining ground over the next few months. The thing that would change my mind is a month-on-month drop that repeats, which is why I refresh these figures monthly. 8 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month
- Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
- Whether US brand searches move out of the 22.2K band they have sat in.
- Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.

Part 7 · Method
How I measured all this
I bought a Moescape AI membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.
- Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
- From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
- Brand search volume
- Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
- Domain Rating
- Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
- Popularity rank
- The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
- Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
- Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
- Hands-on testing
- I purchased a Moescape AI membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
- Rounding and independence
- Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or Moescape AI.
Part 8 · Final verdict
One last word on Moescape AI
Moescape is an anime creative platform with a very good roleplay room, and it is the wrong shelf for most people searching 'ai girlfriend'. After a month with it I understand why Reddit talks about models rather than companions: the free Moedark model drives a scene forward better than many paid rivals' chat, lorebooks give the memory a backbone, and the image tools are a hosted Stable Diffusion studio rather than a selfie button. The two independent videos (one by its title, one by chatting up a Demon Slayer character) and both substantive Reddit threads frame it as a Character AI alternative, and I agree with that framing.
The trade-off is that everything is a tool and nothing is a girlfriend. There is no voice call, the Voice and Video Gen tabs are generators, characters are community-made and vary in quality, and the Mochi currency means the free tier is generous for chat and tight for art. The premium models are better, but for one-on-one romance the free one is close enough that I would not spend Mochi on them, which is my one disagreement with the Opus reviewer and my agreement with his critic.
Who should pick it: anime fans who want to talk to specific characters, roleplayers leaving Character AI who want model switching and system prompts, and anyone who wants anime image and video generation in the same account. Who should not: anyone who wants a realistic companion, a voice that calls them, or a product that works without setup; and anyone who dislikes credit currencies, because Mochi is in everything.
Where it stands today: #24 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, with traffic up 27% on the year but carried by fandom searches, brand demand flat at 22,200 US searches a month, and a Trends line down 63% from its peak. It stays in my ranking on the strength of the free models and the price; it moves up only if the name starts growing on its own.
