Yodayo

An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.

I bought a Yodayo membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of yodayo.com, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a Yodayo membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade Yodayo on my feel alone.

I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.

This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and Yodayo’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.

Part 1 · What it offers

What Yodayo offers

Yodayo (yodayo.com) is an safe-for-work AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.

Features
Anime AI art generation, AI companion chat with anime personas, Social community with sharing, Community character discovery
Free tier
Free chat on the lower models such as Nephra, free image generation if you accept the standard queue, and a daily allowance of NSFW images, with Mochi needed for premium models, high-priority images and read-aloud voice.
Plans
Free
Extras
Free plan with starting Mochi credits, then Plus $9.99/mo, Pro $14.99/mo, or Premium $29.99/mo. Browser-based creative and companion platform.
Operator
Moe AI Limited (the same company runs Moescape), Kowloon, Hong Kong, since 2023 (the domain was registered in September 2022); rebranded to Moescape in September 2024, then kept as the NSFW catalogue alongside it; domain registered September 2022
Best for
Anime fans wanting a creative AI art platform with companion chat in a social community context
Not for
Users wanting a traditional AI girlfriend experience, voice calls, or no creative/social elements

Features and prices from the platform’s own pages; operator from press coverage (yodayo.com and moescape.ai plan pages, Moescape terms of service, r/ChaiAlternatives recommendation (August 2026), r/YodayoAI update posts, DNS registration record). Official site and social accounts are listed at the end of the page.

Part 2 · What people say

What people say about Yodayo

I bought a membership and tested Yodayo myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 5 YouTube videos with 103,765 views between them, 7 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 1 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 5 video transcripts (1,469 words), 7 threads with their top comments, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.

Favourability at a glance

Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.

Each feature, and what people think of it

What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.

FeatureVerdictWhat people say
Chat and roleplay (Tavern)MixedReddit's praise is for the machinery: group chats with addressable characters, a home-grown Nephra model, and switching between DeepSeek, Claude, GLM and Llama mid-chat (2 threads, 2 videos). The complaints are that roleplay was weaker than Character AI once NSFW went (1 thread) and that free models are 'very literal' (1 thread). My test: Agree. On a paid model the roleplay is as good as any site here; on the free default it echoes the character card and needs a custom system prompt to come alive.
MemoryMixedOne 2024 commenter calls Yodayo 'one of the better sites for AI bot memory'; the 2026 recommendation says free chat is 'restricted to the lower AI models with less memory and reasoning'. Both are right about different tiers. My test: Partly disagree with the praise as a blanket claim. The premium models held details across a long session in my test; the free ones lost them within one.
Image generationPositiveThe original product: 65 models and 1,350 spells in the 2023 tutorial, an Enhance upscaler, a free queue if you skip high priority (1 video). After the split the NSFW generator lives on the Yodayo side, with a daily allowance before limits ('after 10 images a day', 1 thread). My test: Agree. Still the best anime generator attached to a chat site that I have used, and the character-spell system is why bots here have consistent art.
VoiceMixedIn April 2024 users were wishing for it (1 thread); by late 2025 the tutorial shows a read-aloud voice that costs credits and a voice picked per character (2 videos). No voice calls. My test: Agree. It is text-to-speech on the replies, serviceable and metered; nobody should pick this site for voice.
Model choice and settingsPositiveThe site's distinguishing feature: a model picker, an editable system prompt and LLM preset settings exposed to users (1 official video, 1 tutorial), and a Reddit culture of reviewing DeepSeek, Kimi and Claude as Tavern models (3 threads). My test: Agree. No other site in this category lets you tune the model like this; the cost is that the defaults are weak and the work is yours.
Characters and customisationPositiveA creator with name, voice, description, first message, scenario, examples, tags and a spell for art (1 video), and approval before a character is listed (1 video). Rating decides where it appears: R and below on both sites, X and above only on Yodayo (1 thread). My test: Agree. A character took me minutes; the approval wait is the price of a catalogue that is actually sorted by rating.
Free tierMixedFree chat exists but on the lower models (1 thread); free generation exists if you accept the queue (1 video); a daily allowance applies to NSFW images (1 thread). The free tier is wide and shallow: everything is there, the good version of each thing costs Mochi. My test: Agree. I could use every feature free; I could not use the version of each feature I wanted to keep.
Price and MochiMixedNo source quotes the plans; the site lists Plus at $9.99, Pro at $14.99 and Premium at $29.99 a month, with Mochi (formerly beans) for premium models, images and voice, and Mochi bought on one site spends on the other (1 thread). One 2024 user called the beans system 'a clever form of monetization'.My test: Agree. The shared wallet is genuinely convenient; the catch is that the best models eat Mochi fast enough that Plus is the real entry price.
Content filter and the two-site splitMixedThe defining event: a full filter in July 2024 (749 upvotes), a rebrand to Moescape that September, and then Yodayo's return as the NSFW catalogue with Moescape as the SFW one (1 thread, 2026). Under-age bots and dubious consent are blocked, 'most anything else goes'.My test: Agree with the 2026 description. The split is confusing but it works: the NSFW side is as open as the recommendation says, and the hard blocks are the ones it names.
Privacy and legitimacyMixedA real operator (Moe AI Limited, Hong Kong) running two sites on one account system, with published terms; no breach or billing complaint in any thread. The caveat is structural: one login and one wallet across an SFW and an NSFW brand, so your Moescape account is your Yodayo account. My test: Agree. Billing and cancellation were uneventful; the thing to know is that the two sites are one identity, which the company does not spell out on either homepage.

How I read this

Sentiment is the hardest thing to measure honestly. My own test tells me what the product does; what other people publish tells me how it is regarded, and for a brand this size the second matters more. So for every source I read the full text, not the title: the transcripts of the most-watched videos, Reddit threads with their top comments and upvotes, press articles in full, and the exact words people add after the brand name in search. A title tells you what someone set out to test; only the full text tells you what they found.

The most-watched videos, and what they actually say

For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.

  • New YODAYO!!!hololamp · 1y ago · 1:05 · 66.4K views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

A 65-second short from a Japanese VTuber channel titled 'New YODAYO!!!', and at 66,000 views the most-watched result by far. The Japanese captions are a skit: a character introduces herself, says 'let's update', and the rest is sound effects and giggling. Nothing in the captions names the site, a feature or a price. It is either a fan clip of a Yodayo-made avatar or an in-joke, and I cannot tell which from the transcript.

My read: A view count, not a verdict. I cannot agree or disagree with a skit, but its audience is the right one: Japanese VTuber fans are the community the AI Overview says Yodayo was built for, and the traffic data puts Indonesia and the Philippines, both anime markets, among its top countries.

  • How to use Yodayo AINia · 3y ago · 3:19 · 24.8K views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

A three-year-old walkthrough of the art side: an explore feed with likes and comments, an NSFW toggle in the profile, and a generator with 65 models and 1,350 'spells' (style and character presets). The host generates an image with a model called Made of Pasta, finds it blurry at full size, and uses the Enhance upscaler to fix it. Beans, the currency of the time, are only spent on high-priority generation; switch that off and it is free. The video ends on weekly and monthly art contests and an active community.

My read: A tour of the product Yodayo was before the chat took over, and it still describes the generator well. The spell library is the thing I would show a newcomer too, and the free-if-you-wait model is unchanged, with Mochi now in place of beans. Nothing here is about companions; that is the point.

  • How To Customize The Way AI Chatbot Responds On Yodayo Tavern - LLM Preset Settings IntroductionMoescape AI · 2y ago · 4:28 · 12.0K views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

An official tutorial from the Moescape AI channel on the Tavern chat's LLM preset settings: how to change the way a character responds. The auto-captions are useless, 24 words of 'hey hey hey' over music, so I have the title, the 4-minute length and 12,000 views to go on. It confirms the chat exposes model-level settings (temperature-style presets) to ordinary users, which is rare in this category.

My read: The company teaching power-user settings is the most telling thing about Tavern. I agree with the implied claim: the preset panel is real and it changes the replies noticeably, which is why the user reviews on Reddit are reviews of models rather than of the site.

  • How To Create Character On Yodayo AiHow To Tuts · 10mo ago · 3:19 · 364 views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

A ten-month-old how-to on creating a character in Tavern. The form asks for a name, a voice picked from a list, a description, a first message, an optional scenario and example dialogue, up to seven category tags, an 'original character' flag and a model; then an avatar, a background, a model version and a spell for the character's images. Publishing puts the character into 'pending approval' rather than live. No opinion offered.

My read: Accurate, and the approval step is the detail that matters. Every public character is reviewed before it appears, which is how the site enforces the rating split described on Reddit: characters rated R or below show on Moescape too, X and above only on Yodayo. I agree that the creator is easy; it took me a few minutes.

  • How To Use Yodayo Character AiHow To Tuts · 10mo ago · 3:29 · 222 views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

The same channel's how-to on using Tavern. It notes the mobile app carries a different name, shows the category settings, and then the part worth watching: in a chat you can switch the model between DeepSeek, Nephra, Claude, GLM and Llama, edit the system prompt, change the persona and generation parameters, send images into the chat, and turn on voice, which reads spoken lines aloud and costs credits. No rating, no price.

My read: A walkthrough that happens to show the two things that define this site: model choice inside the chat, and paid read-aloud voice. I agree it is easy to use; what it cannot show is that the free models are the weak ones, which is where the Reddit threads pick up.

What the videos add up to

Reading across the 5 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.

Of the 5 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 5 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative.

Five of the seven results are about the platform (two were Sinhala animations about the ten great warriors of Sri Lankan legend, which share the word), and all five are neutral: two tutorials from a how-to channel, one from the company itself, a three-year-old art walkthrough and a Japanese VTuber short whose captions never mention the site. Nobody reviews it, nobody prices it, nobody complains.

What the tutorials establish is the shape of the product. The generator has 65 models and 1,350 spells and is free if you accept the slow queue; the Tavern chat lets you switch between DeepSeek, Claude, GLM, Llama and the in-house Nephra model mid-conversation, edit the system prompt, and pay for read-aloud voice; and every public character goes through approval before it is listed.

The verdicts are on Reddit, not YouTube, and the videos leave out the one fact that drives those threads: the July 2024 filter, the Moescape rebrand and the return of Yodayo as the NSFW brand. A newcomer watching only the videos would not learn that there are two sites.

What gets praised

  • A generator with 65 models, 1,350 spells and a free queue (1 of the 5 videos)
  • Model choice inside the chat: DeepSeek, Claude, GLM, Llama, Nephra (1 video)
  • Model-level preset settings exposed to users (1 video, the official one)
  • Easy character creation with a picked voice and approval before listing (1 video)

What gets criticised

  • No video offers an opinion, a price or a test (5 of 5 videos)
  • High-priority generation and read-aloud voice cost credits (2 videos)
  • The official tutorial's captions are unusable, so its content cannot be checked (1 video)
  • The most-watched video never mentions the site in its captions (1 video)

    r/CharacterAi_NSFW · u/Synra_amariss · July 2, 2024 · 749 upvotes · 218 comments · open on Reddit

Negative · what the thread says

July 2024, 749 upvotes and 218 comments: the day Yodayo switched on a full content filter. The top comments are furious and philosophical in equal measure: 'Who exactly needs protection, and from what?' (+486), 'how many more AI websites will come wanting to protect its users from the thing they are there for?' (+455). The poster says the mods are 'on a power trip and censoring valid criticism', one quotes a mod post promising a 'clean break from hentai', and another notes the site was only known as the NSFW alternative to Character AI because its roleplay was weaker.

“Please, how many more ai websites will come wanting to "protect" it's users from the thing they are there for?” — u/BasalGiraffe7, +455

My read: The biggest thread about the brand, and I disagree with its verdict two years on. 'Fallen' was premature: the company split the catalogue instead, Moescape for SFW and Yodayo for everything else, and the August 2026 thread below describes the NSFW side as back. The last comment is still right, though: without NSFW the roleplay never beat Character AI, and in my test that holds.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "An open letter to the mods and devs"

    r/YodayoTavern · u/lp899 · August 8, 2024 · 113 upvotes · 15 comments · open on Reddit

Negative · what the thread says

A daily user of a year writes to the developers a month after the filter: keep both audiences, SFW and NSFW, and drop a strict filter that 'can be unwittingly tripped by the most innocuous' chat. The replies are resigned: 'sponsors don't care' (+19), 'money is the king'. One amateur writer says Yodayo is 'one of the better sites for AI bot memory' but that even mentioning sex now shuts bots down; another predicts it will become 'a teen site' that drives away the users with disposable income.

    “Unfortunately, sponsors don't care.” — u/Sad-Contribution2945, +19

My read: A fair letter, and the company more or less did what it asked, under two names. I partly disagree with the memory praise: the better models remember well, but the free ones most people use lose the thread within a session. The 'teen site' prediction is the one to watch; the rating split and approval queue exist to manage it.

  • r/YodayoAI · u/skeptical_pochita[May 17, 2024] Web Update: Choose Which Character Responds in Group Chats on TavernHappy Friday Yodachi! We’ve released an exciting update to group chats on Tavern: the ability to choose which character responds to you! It’s very simple! Here's how it works: Just type @ CharacterName (without the space after @ - reddit automatically formats to u/CharacterName) to specify which character you want to respond to you. You can also tag multiple characters in the same message to have them respond to your message. See the attached image below to see how this method works! Please note, this feature is currently available only on the web but will be added to both versions of our Android app soon! Hope you enjoy this update and have a great weekend! Also... New Tavern Model: Nephra 8B On a side note, we also recently added a new in-house Tavern model, Nephra 8B - a fine-tuned Llama 3 model that is suitable for roleplay conversations. Positive · what the thread says

An official update from May 2024, six weeks before the filter: in group chats you can now @-mention which character replies, and the site has added Nephra 8B, an in-house Llama 3 fine-tune for roleplay, replacing the stock Llama 3. Comments are warm ('I love the new model'), ask about the model stat charts, and request a separate chat handle from the profile name.

    “I love the new model ngl” — u/[deleted], +9

My read: Housekeeping, but it shows the engineering that outlasted the drama. Group chats with addressable characters and a home-grown model are still the two things I used most, and Nephra, now 12B, is still the free default. I agree with the mood of the thread; it is the last cheerful one before July.

Positive · what the thread says

August 2026, the most recent substantive thread, and a recommendation: Yodayo 'went the SFW route', rebranded as Moescape, then 'sneakily returned Yodayo as the NSFW brand' with a shared login and shared tokens across both sites. Under-age bots and dubious consent are blocked, 'most anything else goes'. Bots rated R or below appear on Moescape too; X and above only on Yodayo. Free chat is limited to the lower models 'with less memory and reasoning', better models cost. The poster says they rarely see the frustrated posts Chai users write.

“You can chat for free, but you will be restricted to the lower AI models with less memory and reasoning abilities. Better AI costs you.” — u/SilentMasterpiece725, +2

My read: The clearest explanation of the two-site arrangement anywhere, and it matches what I found. Same account, same Mochi, different catalogue. I agree with the free-tier caveat especially: the free models are where the memory complaints come from, and the paid ones are a different product.

Neutral · what the thread says

A September 2025 review of DeepSeek 3.1 as a Tavern model, from a regular who also reviews Kimi K2 and Claude Haiku on the site. The post itself is gated, but the comments show the use: one user finds the model 'very literal', pulling words straight from the persona, and the reviewer offers to share a system prompt written as a narrative monologue rather than a list of rules.

“When I use deepseek v3.1. It is very literal. It would pull words straight from the persona.” — u/Pure_Raspberry2943, +1

My read: Yodayo's Reddit is now a model-testing club, and I agree with the literalness complaint. DeepSeek on Tavern echoes the character card unless you prompt around it; the fact that users swap system prompts to fix that is the site's power-user culture in one comment, and also a sign of how much work the free experience leaves to you.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "Imagine Yodayo got Voice Chat features like chat Gpt haha."

    r/YodayoTavern · u/Haku-Saikou18 · April 12, 2024 · 5 upvotes · 6 comments · open on Reddit

Positive · what the thread says

April 2024: a user daydreams about voice chat in Tavern, then edits to note that Character AI shipped it first. The top reply does not want it: 'the tavern is perfect (with some small faults)' and the developers should not take on more work. The other reply is a joke.

“that would be cool but i don't any unnecessary features to the tavern, i don't want the devs have more work to deal with, the tavern is prefect (with some small faults.)” — u/kaito_hemata, +6

My read: Small, and overtaken by events. Yodayo now reads lines aloud for credits, which the tutorials show, though there are still no voice calls. I agree with the reply's instinct more than the request: the chat's strength is model choice and settings, not presence, and the voice that arrived is an add-on rather than a feature people pick it for.

  • Screenshot of the Reddit post "Any AI photo generator recommendations?"

    r/ArtificialSentience · u/QQ726 · October 12, 2024 · 2 upvotes · 6 comments · open on Reddit

Mixed · what the thread says

October 2024: a user who says Yodayo 'completely banned NSFW content' asks for other generators and names Pixvify. One reply recommends Civitai with its Buzz currency; another corrects the premise: 'You can still do NSFW on Yodayo after 10 images a day, filters got relaxed.'

“You can still do NSFW on Yodayo after 10 images a day, filters got relaxed” — u/biranai, +1

My read: I disagree with the poster and agree with the correction. Three months after the filter the rules had already loosened on the art side, and the later split made the NSFW generator a Yodayo-only feature. The thread is a snapshot of users leaving on a rumour that was out of date by the time they posted it.

What Reddit adds up to

Reading across the 7 threads, weighted by upvotes.

Of the 7 threads I read, 3 are positive, 1 is mixed, 1 is neutral and 2 are negative.

Seven of the fourteen threads are about this Yodayo, and they split three positive, two negative, one mixed and one neutral. The negatives are the loud ones: the 749-upvote 'Yodayo has fallen' thread from the day the filter arrived, and an open letter a month later. The positives are an official update before the filter and a 2026 recommendation after the split.

The story the threads tell in order: a chat site with group chats and a home-grown model (May 2024), a full content filter and a 'clean break from hentai' (July 2024), users leaving on rumours that were already out of date (October 2024), and then a two-site arrangement with Moescape as the SFW catalogue and Yodayo as the NSFW one, sharing a login and a wallet (August 2026).

What survives the drama is a model-choice culture. The recent threads are reviews of DeepSeek, Kimi and Claude as Tavern models and swaps of system prompts, which no other site in this category has. The consistent caveat is that the free models have less memory and reasoning and the good ones cost Mochi.

What gets praised

  • NSFW chat and images are back on the Yodayo side, with the same login and tokens as Moescape (2 threads)
  • Group chats with addressable characters and the in-house Nephra model (1 thread)
  • Model choice and user-tuned system prompts (1 thread)
  • Memory on the better models (1 thread, 1 comment)

What gets criticised

  • The July 2024 filter and a 'clean break from hentai' (2 threads, 749 and 113 upvotes)
  • Mods accused of censoring criticism (1 thread)
  • Free chat limited to weaker models with less memory and reasoning (1 thread)
  • Roleplay weaker than Character AI once NSFW is removed (1 thread)
  • DeepSeek on Tavern is 'very literal' without a custom prompt (1 thread)

In the press

The latest articles that mention Yodayo, newest first. For each one: what it says, then my take on its view of the brand.

How Google’s AI describes it

The AI Overview Google showed for a US search of "yodayo.com" on October 7, 2026, quoted as is.

You can visit Yodayo to access an AI-powered creative platform and community built specifically for anime and VTuber fans. Key Features AI Art Generation: Create anime-style artwork using text prompts, custom models, and "spells" for specific characters and poses. Yodayo Tavern: Interact with and roleplay alongside community-made or custom AI chatbots styled as anime, gaming, and fictional characters. Community Hub: Explore shared creations, view successful prompts and tags, and connect with other creators. If you'd like, let me know: Are you interested in the AI art generator or the Tavern chat feature? Do you need help with writing prompts or creating a custom character?

Google cited: Benchling, Facebook, YouTube, YouTube, YouTube

How AI systems regard it: my take

Why this matters: Google's summary is what a Character AI refugee reads before clicking, and for this brand it decides which of two sites they land on. The overview cites a Facebook group, three YouTube videos and, oddly, a page on Benchling, a biotech lab-notebook service, which tells you how thin the written coverage of Yodayo is.

The framing is 'creative platform and community for anime and VTuber fans', with AI art first, Tavern chat second and the community hub third. That is the 2023 product in the 2023 order, and it matches the tutorials: the generator with its models and spells is what the videos show, and the chat is the thing Reddit argues about.

One claim I disagree with by omission: the overview never mentions Moescape, the filter, or that Yodayo is now the NSFW half of a two-site arrangement with a shared login and wallet. For a newcomer that is the single most useful fact about this brand, and Google's AI describes the site as if July 2024 never happened.

These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.

That is a returning audience: they know the site, they want Tavern specifically, they check Reddit before trusting it, and some of them are looking for the exit. The '/moescape' search says the two-name arrangement still confuses people, and I agree with them.

The related queries are the competition map: Janitor AI, Civitai, Character AI and Moescape at the top, and a rising list that is all image generators, Mage Space and TensorHub breaking out, Unstable Diffusion up 1,100%, Venice up 1,050%, SeaArt up 550%. People who search for Yodayo are shopping for anime art tools as much as for chat, which fits a site whose non-brand traffic comes from anime character names.

Brand demand is flat at 49,500 US searches a month for a year, with one spike to 60,500 in October 2025, while Google Trends sits at 57% of its 12-month peak. The name is not growing and not collapsing; the site's traffic fell because the SFW catalogue moved to Moescape, not because people stopped looking for Yodayo.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach

How much traffic Yodayo gets, and where it ranks

How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.

On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, yodayo.com ranked #42,634 among every domain worldwide, down 3,452 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 50,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #22, behind MyDreamCompanion and Juicy Chat.

How I read this

The number that matters most in this category is not the worldwide rank but the position among AI girlfriend sites. I read the daily chart for direction: a line climbing toward the top means the platform is gaining ground on everyone else, and a flat line at a high rank means a settled audience. Tranco is a rank, not a visit count, so I never convert it into visits.

How I read this

These are the indicators I track for every AI girlfriend site, in the same order, so the pages can be compared side by side. Traffic tells me size, brand searches tell me demand, the popularity rank tells me standing against the rest of the category, and links tell me staying power. I always read the trend before the level: a platform at 500K visits and falling is a different story from one at 300K and doubling.

My take: the story in the numbers

What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.

The traffic line is the story of a catalogue being split in two. Worldwide search visits held between 227,000 and 270,000 a month from October 2024 to May 2025, peaking at 269,500 in April 2025, then fell every month from June 2025 (226,000) to July 2026 (126,000), a halving in fourteen months. US visits went from 39,000 to 18,000 over the same two years and have been flat at 17,000 to 19,000 since October 2025. September 2026's 147,500 is the second monthly rise in a row, up 7% on August, but still 8% below a year earlier.

I can date the cause, and it is not the filter. The July 2024 filter revolt happened a year before the decline started; traffic was still at its peak the following April. The slide begins in June 2025, which is when the company finished moving the SFW catalogue to Moescape: Moescape's own profile climbs almost every month through 2025 to a December peak while Yodayo falls. The non-brand keywords that carried Yodayo, anime character names like 'cha hae in' and 'yachiru' competing with DeviantArt, Pixiv and MyAnimeList, are exactly the pages that moved. Yodayo kept the name and the NSFW side; Moescape got the SFW traffic.

Brand demand did not move at all. 'yodayo' has been searched 49,500 times a month in the US for twelve months, with one spike to 60,500 in October 2025, and 246,000 times worldwide. People who want this site still type its name, and 'yodayo' at #1 plus 'yodayo ai' and 'yodayo tavern' deliver most of its traffic. When brand searches are flat and traffic halves, the loss is in non-brand pages, which is the split again. The August and September 2026 upturn fits the newest Reddit thread: a recommendation that the NSFW brand is back, telling lapsed users to 'log back in'.

The link profile has a six-million-link ghost in it. Backlinks jumped from 29,000 in March 2025 to 5.66 million in April 2025, sat near 6.5 million for a year, then fell to 904,000 in April 2026 and 198,000 by September. Referring domains never flinched: a steady climb from 851 to 3,717 over two years. Millions of links from the same few thousand sites is a sitewide placement arriving and leaving, most plausibly cross-links from the sister site or a large partner during the two-brand launch. I weight the referring-domain line, which has quadrupled, and it says the brand is more widely cited than ever even as its traffic fell.

The all-traffic picture is softer than the search one. Tranco slipped from 39,182 to 42,634 in five weeks, a modest fall, while the site stays #22 of the AI girlfriend sites I track. Google Trends is at 57% of its 12-month peak and the rising related queries are rival image generators, which means the shopping around is happening on the art side. The US is 41,000 of the visits and Indonesia 17,000, an anime-market footprint that matches the VTuber short and the Sinhala name collisions in the video results.

Verdict. Falling year on year (traffic down 8%, Tranco down), flat on brand demand, up on referring domains, and rising for two months. The decline was self-inflicted and structural, a catalogue split rather than lost interest, and it has probably bottomed: the pages that were going to move have moved. What would change the read is the brand line. If 'yodayo' holds at 49,500 while traffic recovers toward 160,000, the NSFW relaunch is working; if the name starts to slide too, the users who left in 2024 are not coming back.

The shape is the story: a 53% fall between April 2025 and July 2026, then a climb back to 55% of the old peak by September 2026. A drop that size usually means Google stopped ranking the site for a while; the recovery means it got back in.

Visit the site, or compare it with the rest of the category first.

In short

What I learned, and what I expect next

Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: Yodayo is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.

How it is performing

Yodayo drew an estimated 147,476 visits from Google search in September 2026, +7.3% on August 2026 and -8.2% on a year earlier. The year-on-year figure flatters it because it is measured against the July 2026 low; against the April 2025 peak it is at 55%. Over the last quarter the trend is growing (+7.2% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #22 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind MyDreamCompanion and Juicy Chat.

Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: the traffic halved from mid-2025 because the SFW catalogue moved to Moescape, not because of the July 2024 filter that Reddit still argues about, and the two-month recovery coincides with the first thread in two years telling people the NSFW brand is back. What users praise, model choice, group chats, the generator and the shared wallet, is what keeps a loyal core typing the name 49,500 times a month regardless of the traffic chart. What they criticise, weak free models, metered voice and the lingering confusion over which site is which, is why the free audience leaks to the image generators rising in Trends. The number to watch is not traffic but brand searches: flat means the core is intact.

What changed

Brand demand is the standout: about 49,500 US searches a month (0.0% year on year) and 246,000 worldwide. Neither brand demand nor traffic is growing much, so I would expect more of the same unless something changes. In popularity terms it has slipped 3,452 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+61.5% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 5 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 5 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. The videos are all tutorials with no opinion; they show a generator with 1,350 presets, a chat with model choice and paid read-aloud voice, and say nothing about the filter history that Reddit argues about. Reddit's loudest threads are the July 2024 filter revolt, but its newest say the NSFW catalogue returned under the Yodayo name with Moescape as the SFW twin, and the lasting culture is users reviewing models rather than the site.

What I expect

The indicators point in different directions, so I expect Yodayo to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 137K visits a month and a position around #22 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 8 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month

  • Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
  • Whether US brand searches move out of the 49.5K band they have sat in.
  • Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.

Part 7 · Method

How I measured all this

I bought a Yodayo membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.

Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
Brand search volume
Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
Domain Rating
Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
Popularity rank
The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
Hands-on testing
I purchased a Yodayo membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.

Part 8 · Final verdict

One last word on Yodayo

Yodayo is the NSFW half of a two-site anime platform, and after a month with it I would judge it as a power user's chat with a first-class generator attached. The model picker, the editable system prompt, group chats with addressable characters and the spell-driven art are things no other site in this category offers together, and the Reddit regulars who review DeepSeek and Claude as Tavern models are the proof that they matter. Brand demand has held at 49,500 US searches a month through two years of upheaval.

Its problem is that the good version of everything costs, and the history confuses. The free models are literal and forgetful, voice is metered text-to-speech, and a newcomer has to learn that Moescape and Yodayo are one account with two catalogues before any of it makes sense. The July 2024 filter is still the most upvoted thing ever written about the brand, and Google's AI summary does not mention the split at all.

Who should pick it: anime fans who want to choose and tune the model behind their characters, want uncensored roleplay with consistent art, and will pay Plus for the better models. Who should not: anyone who wants a companion that works well on the free tier, anyone who wants voice calls or a photoreal girlfriend, and anyone who would rather not have one login shared across an SFW and an NSFW site.

Where it stands today: #22 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, falling year on year on my scorecard but rising for two months, with a loyal core and a split that has finished hurting it. If brand searches stay flat and the recovery continues, it settles as the category's power-user option; if the name starts falling, the 2024 exodus was permanent after all.
