CrushOn AI
An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.
I bought a CrushOn AI membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of crushon.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a CrushOn AI membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade CrushOn AI on my feel alone.
I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.
This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and CrushOn AI’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.
Part 1 · What it offers
What CrushOn AI offers
CrushOn AI (crushon.ai) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it, with AI-generated images on top of text chat. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.

Part 2 · What people say
What people say about CrushOn AI
I bought a membership and tested CrushOn AI myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 7 YouTube videos with 133,362 views between them, 9 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 7 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 7 video transcripts (4,409 words), 9 threads with their top comments and 10 articles in full, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.
Favourability at a glance
Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.
| Source | Read | Pos.Positive | Mixed | Neut.Neutral | Neg.Negative | Fav.Favourable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube videostranscripts read in full | 7 | 1 | 0 | 6 | 0 | 14% |
| Reddit threadspost and top comments | 9 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 4 | 11% |
| Press articlesread in full | 10 | 4 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 40% |
| All sources | 26 | 6 | 6 | 8 | 6 | 23% |
In one line: YouTube videos 14% positive, 0 negative of 7; Reddit threads 11% positive, 4 negative of 9; Press articles 40% positive, 2 negative of 10. The gap between YouTube videos and Press articles on one side and Reddit on the other is the main sentiment finding on this page, and the sections below explain it.
Each feature, and what people think of it
What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.
| Feature | Verdict | What people say |
|---|---|---|
| Chat and roleplay | Mixed | The YouTube review scores the chat 10 out of 10 and the press calls it the best unfiltered roleplay site at the price, but quality depends on which model you pick: Reddit reports refusals from NSFW-marked bots (2 threads), repetition that only stops when you edit replies (1 thread), and Plisio quotes paying users getting 'randomly generated nonsense'.My test: Partly disagree. The 10 is generous: the paid 16K models wrote the best roleplay prose I have had on any site in this category, but the free model looped within a session and the Claude options refused scenes the DeepSeek option wrote without comment. |
| Memory | Mixed | Three articles say memory depth follows the tier: 8K context on free, 16K and more on paid, with a 2026 upgrade to 100-plus messages of recall on higher plans. Reddit adds the manual side: pinned messages and up to 100 saved memories per character. The complaint is that lower tiers forget, and About Chromebooks sends memory-first users to Nomi.My test: Agree. On Standard a detail survived across sessions only when I saved it as a memory; left to the context window alone, it was gone within a long evening. |
| Model choice | Mixed | More than ten models (the 2025 press release says 17) including GPT-4o, Claude Sonnet, DeepSeek and uncensored Dolphin variants, praised by five articles as the feature most rivals lack. Reddit shows the cost: one poster spends more time choosing models than roleplaying, the Sonnet options refuse or over-narrate, and nobody can say which model a bot was built for.My test: Agree. The choice is real and it matters, but the first week is tuning rather than talking, and the 'best' model changed while I was testing. |
| Images and voice | Negative | The company announced context-aware image replies in June 2025 and Plisio confirms them, HD on paid tiers, yet two 2026 roundups still call the site text-only and nobody praises the image quality. Voice was 'in development' in mid-2025; by 2026 StartupHub reports synthetic voice messages on premium tiers, and no source describes voice calls. The alternatives lists send visual and voice users to Candy AI or Kupid. My test: Disagree. 'Text-only' is wrong: characters sent me anime-style image replies that matched the scene. But there is no image studio, the quality is far behind Candy's, and I never heard a character speak on the plan I tested. |
| Characters and the creator community | Positive | The thing every source concedes: a community library the YouTube review scores 10 out of 10 with creators showing millions of interactions, a creation form with scene cards, status trackers, personality, scenario and example dialogue, and a Reddit community that teaches bot-writing. The caveat from two articles is that the library skews to anime archetypes. My test: Agree. The best characters I chatted with were user-made, and the creation form is the deepest I have used. If you want realistic, non-anime companions, the library fights you. |
| Group chat and World Cards | Positive | Multi-character group chat (three or four bots in one scene) and World Cards that link characters under a shared setting are called 2026 additions 'no direct competitor has matched' by StartupHub, and the YouTube review's four-character test showed the bots bouncing off each other in character. Its one caveat: group chats were locked to the base 8K model. My test: Agree. The group scene held four distinct voices for me, which no other site I tested managed. The base-model limit is the trade-off. |
| Free tier and coins | Mixed | 100 message credits a month, the free models, 8K memory, and chat history deleted after seven days of inactivity, topped up by 50 coins a day for checking in plus small tasks (4 videos, 2 threads). StartupHub calls it 'genuinely usable'; Plisio says 100 messages 'runs out in a single conversation'.My test: Partly disagree. 'Genuinely usable' is a stretch: the monthly allowance went in one session; it was the daily check-in that kept me chatting, and it stops the day you stop logging in. |
| Price and message caps | Mixed | The cheapest entry in the category at $5.99 a month for Standard (2,000 messages), $14.99 Premium (6,000) and $49.90 Deluxe (unlimited), with annual plans from $58.88 to $358.80 and crypto accepted (3 articles). Against that: every plan below Deluxe is capped, premium models burn credits faster, and one Reddit user calculated that running a model through an API costs a fraction of the annual plan.My test: Agree. Standard was the best value I found for text roleplay, and the cap arrived sooner than 2,000 messages suggests once I used the premium models. |
| Privacy and billing | Negative | Plisio cites a Mozilla scan that found 45 trackers in under a minute, including DoubleClick, and a policy that collects chat history, health and biometric data to train models; realite-virtuelle flags 'extensive personal data collection'. On the plus side, sign-up needs only an email, no card is needed to start, and cancellation is in the account settings (StartupHub). My test: Agree. I signed up with a secondary email, paid without drama and cancelled from the settings page, but nothing I typed here is something I would want kept, and the policy says it is. |
| Safety, support and legitimacy | Mixed | A real company (Peekaboo Tech Inc., Delaware, about 15 people) with published guidelines and no documented breach, but the age gate is a self-declared checkbox in front of unfiltered content that is on by default (4 articles), and Reddit describes scripted support and appeals that nobody reads (1 thread), plus a 2024 outage (1 thread). My test: Agree. The business is real and the billing was clean; the age check is a form you fill in yourself, and I would not rely on support to recover a banned account. |
How I read this
The most-watched videos, and what they actually say
For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.
How to Use CrushOn AIAI in 5 Minutes · 2y ago · 2:37 · 57.9K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A two-and-a-half-minute walkthrough from 2024 that explains the basics: sign in with Google, Discord or email, pick a character from the main page, and type. It then spends most of its length on the create-character form, name, square avatar, greeting, public or private visibility, genre and optional details such as age and personality. The one claim it makes about the product is that the chat is 'more immersive and unfiltered' than rivals; there is no test, no pricing and no verdict, just the steps.
My read: The most-watched CrushOn video is a how-to, not a review, which tells me the audience arrives already sold on the idea and wants to know where the buttons are. I agree with its one claim: the unfiltered toggle did what it said in my test. Its view count is a demand signal, not a quality one.
How to Enable NSFW on CrushOn AIAI in 5 Minutes · 2y ago · 1:24 · 46.9K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
An 84-second tutorial on switching the chat to NSFW. Log in, find the 'unfiltered' switch, confirm the warning that you are about to see unfiltered content, and the character list changes to show the ones marked unfiltered. The presenter opens one, asks 'is this chat NSFW?' and reads the bot's reply confirming mature themes and explicit language. The whole process is one switch and one confirmation dialogue, with no age check beyond the account's self-declared birthday, and no opinion offered either way.
My read: Second most-watched video, and it is the same question as the first: how do I get the unfiltered version. Together the two tutorials are over 100,000 views, so the brand's draw is the lack of a filter. I agree the toggle is trivial; the press is right that a self-declared age is all that stands behind it.
Crushon AI Review 2025 | The Best AI Girlfriend Website?BestAIGirlfriends · 1y ago · 10:52 · 12.9K viewsPositive · what the video says
The only real review in the set, eleven minutes with an affiliate link. The presenter tests the free model, switches to a paid 16K-context model and finds the replies noticeably longer and more detailed, runs a four-character group chat, builds a character from the long creation form, and walks through pricing: free with 100 message credits a month and a seven-day deletion of inactive chats, then $5.99, $15 and $50 tiers with up to 60% off annually. It scores the character community 10, the chat 10 and features 8, for 9.3 out of 10, with the lack of images, voice and video as the only deduction.
My read: The score is high but the reasoning is sound: this is a roleplay site, not a full companion app. I agree on the creator community and the jump in quality when you switch model. I partly disagree on the chat score, because the free model repeats itself after a while and the premium Claude models refuse scenes that Reddit says they used to allow.
CrushOn AI: How to Turn On Unfiltered (Tutorial)AI in 5 Minutes · 1y ago · 1:10 · 12.3K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A 70-second tutorial for the mobile app rather than the website: open the app, tap the profile icon in the bottom-right corner, open settings, scroll to 'other settings' and flip the 'unfiltered content' toggle. The video's only informational value is that it confirms the Android app exists and has the same switch as the site; the narration is synthetic and ends with a reminder to use the feature responsibly. No testing, no verdict and no mention of what the filter actually blocks when it is on.
My read: Three of the seven videos are about one toggle, which is the clearest statement of what people come to CrushOn for. I agree with the steps. What none of the toggle videos says, and what Reddit does, is that the switch only changes the site's own settings; the underlying model can still refuse.
How To Get UNLIMITED FREE Messages On CrushOn.AI - Complete Guide 2025Binary Techs · 10mo ago · 2:18 · 1.3K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A guide to using the site without paying. The presenter opens the Bonus page and works through the daily tasks: a check-in worth 50 coins a day, 10 coins for a daily conversation, 10 more for viewing three memories, plus one-off missions further down. Coins are redeemed for message credits at 100 coins for 100 messages, which is also the floor before you can redeem at all. The title promises 'unlimited free messages'; what the video actually shows is a few hundred messages a month if you log in every day and complete every task.
My read: 'Unlimited' is the title, 'a few hundred a month' is the content. I agree the daily check-in is what makes the free tier usable at all, and it is more generous than most rivals' demos. I disagree with the title: in my test the coins ran out well before a long roleplay did.
How to Use CrushOn AI 2026 | Character Creation Tutorial (Full Guide)Just Curious Channel · 6mo ago · 2:15 · 1.1K viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
A 2026 click-by-click guide: choose a gender preference, sign in with Google, open a character and complete 'adult verification', which here means typing an email address and a name, then chat, collect daily bonus coins, and create a character from a photo, a name and a personality. The pricing it reads out, premium 'around $79', a plan 'about $25', elite $66.70 and imperial $150, matches no price list I have seen on the site or in the press, so I treat that section as unreliable. The rest is accurate but says nothing about quality.
My read: A synthetic-voice tutorial with a pricing section I cannot reconcile with the site. I agree with the sign-up steps and the point that 'verification' is a form you fill in yourself. On the prices I disagree outright: the tiers I tested and the press agree on $5.99, $14.99 and $49.90 a month.
Crushon AI Review (2026)Guide Zone · 5mo ago · 1:41 · 957 viewsNeutral, no verdict · what the video says
Titled a review, it is a 100-second tour of the left-hand menu: recent chats, the create button with its picture, scene card, status tracker and voice, name, age and gender fields, the creator ranking, the profile page with favourites and saved memories, pricing, the coin store for people without a plan, and the bonus missions. It lists a 'voice' field in the character form and a coin store that sells access to premium features piecemeal, both of which the 2025 review did not have. No opinion is expressed and nothing is tested.
My read: Useful only as a map of what the 2026 interface contains. I agree it is a fair list, and the status tracker and scene card are real. The voice field is the one item I would caveat: in my month I never heard a character speak, so whatever that field drives is not voice calls.
What the videos add up to
Reading across the 7 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.
Of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is positive, 6 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative.
Six of the seven videos are tutorials with no verdict, and that is itself the finding. The two most-watched, over 100,000 views between them, explain how to sign up and how to flip the NSFW switch, and a third covers the same toggle in the Android app. People do not arrive asking whether CrushOn is good; they arrive asking how to get the unfiltered version.
The single review is strongly positive and sensible about why. It scores the community character library and the chat 10 out of 10, marks features down to 8 because there were no images, voice or video at the time, and lands on 9.3. It carries an affiliate link, so I discount the score but not the reasoning: this is a roleplay and character site, and it is judged as one.
The practical facts the videos agree on: the free tier is 100 message credits a month topped up by daily check-in coins, inactive free chats are deleted after seven days, switching to a paid 16K-context model visibly improves replies, and group chats run on the base model. The one place they contradict each other is price: the review quotes $5.99, $15 and $50, while a 2026 tutorial reads out $25, $66.70, $79 and $150, numbers I cannot match to anything on the site.
What gets praised
- The community character library and the creator economy behind it (1 of the 7 videos, the only review)
- Chat quality, with a visible jump when switching to a paid 16K-context model (1 video)
- Daily check-in and task coins that keep the free tier usable (4 videos show the Bonus page)
- Character creation depth: scene cards, status trackers, personality, scenario and example dialogue (4 videos walk through the form)
- The unfiltered toggle is a single switch with a confirmation dialogue (3 videos)
What gets criticised
- No image generation, voice or video at the time of the review (1 video)
- A free cap of 100 message credits a month, redeemed 100 coins at a time (2 videos)
- Free chat history deleted after seven days of inactivity (1 video)
- Pricing quoted inconsistently: $5.99 to $50 in one video, $25 to $150 in another (2 videos quote prices)
- Group chats are locked to the base 8K model (1 video)

Mixed · what the thread says
A January 2024 outage thread (44 upvotes): users were logged out with a 403 error, the site lagged and then dropped them entirely, and one poster traced it to a 'delayed connect error' on the server side. The original poster updates twice, confirms via Twitter that the site was down, and asks everyone to stay calm because maintenance 'monthly, decently bad scenario, weekly' is to be expected. The telling comment is the user relieved to learn it was an outage and not a ban for something they had said, which says a lot about how users expect moderation to work.
“Oh thank god I thought I got banned for something I said” — u/Ok_Buy_1240, +4
My read: Old, and about reliability rather than the product. I had no outages in my month, so I agree with the poster's own read that this was routine maintenance. What I take from it is the reflex to assume a ban: on a site where one toggle opens unfiltered content, people are nervous about where the line is.

r/Chatbots · u/HelpfulReplacement28 · June 6, 2025 · 40 upvotes · 34 comments · open on Reddit
Negative · what the thread says
The most upvoted thread about the brand (40 upvotes, 34 comments, June 2025) is a leaving post: the poster calls the site a 'burning dumpster fire' that 'ruined pretty much anything good about it' and asks about Janitor and SillyTavern, wanting custom characters, a reasonable subscription and memory good enough for slow-burn roleplay. The complaint the replies pick up is the coin and credit system, and the poster later reports that running a model through an API on SillyTavern costs a fraction of the CrushOn annual plan. Rival pitches (Rubii, Kindroid, DreamJourney) fill the rest.
“I did the math, my annual sub on crushon gets decimated value wise by just paying for the API on my own.” — u/HelpfulReplacement28, +1
My read: The loudest thread, and the one the numbers argue with. Worldwide traffic doubled in the nine months after this was posted, so whatever changed in mid-2025 did not drive the audience away. I disagree with 'ruined': the site I tested in September worked. I agree on the credit system, which is the real cost of a long roleplay here.

Negative · what the thread says
A user loves a well-made bot but it 'keeps repeating itself over and over', even after switching models several times; another says 'I'm having the same experience', and a third describes Grok and Magnum giving the same answer ten times in a multi-character scene. The replies are workarounds rather than denials: refresh or edit the repeated reply every time, because letting it stand teaches the bot that repetition is wanted, try another model, or add a custom instruction demanding every response be unique. Nobody suggests the problem goes away on its own.
“This can definitely happen, if you ever see your bot begin to repeat phrases or sentences in their replies the first thing you can do is refresh the message.” — u/Protean_wings, +5
My read: Repetition is real and the fix is labour. I agree with the thread: the free model looped on me within a long session, and editing replies did help. Here I partly disagree with the advice to keep switching models, because on CrushOn that means spending credits to find out which one behaves today.
- r/Crushon · u/AggressiveChip4406I want To make my first Bot...Hey! I’ve been using Crushon for a while now and have really enjoyed interacting with the bots, some of them are incredibly well-made. I’ve been meaning to try making one myself, but honestly, I’m not quite sure where to begin. This would be my first attempt, and I really want to do it right. If you're someone who regularly creates good bots and has experience with structuring them well, I’d really appreciate it if you could DM me a screenshot of how you typically set yours up. It doesn’t have to be super detailed, just enough to give me a starting point or a sense of direction. I’m just looking for a bit of guidance to help me wrap my head around it and avoid rookie mistakes. Any help would mean a lot. Thanks in advance! Positive · what the thread says
A long-time user who has 'really enjoyed interacting with the bots' asks how to make a first one well. The replies point to a community-made tutorial bot that displays its own definition, shows how to make a character send pictures and how to build a status tracker, and lay out the craft rules: mention the user sparingly in the first message, never speak for the user, and never publish without testing. Another reply says searching for 'template' or 'guide' inside the site turns up creator-written how-tos.
“I’ve been using Crushon for a while now and have really enjoyed interacting with the bots, some of them are incredibly well-made.” — u/AggressiveChip4406, +9
My read: The creator community the YouTube review scored 10 out of 10, seen from the inside. I agree: the best bots I chatted with were user-made, and the guidance here is better than the official documentation. A site whose users teach each other to write characters has something Candy's preset library does not.
- r/Crushon · u/[deleted]Why do the NSFW bots keep refusing to do explicit content or mistakenly acting like you're suggesting "illegal material" when you are NOT doing so whatsoever?I feel like I'm either taking crazy pills, or the AI NSFW quality is declining significantly over the past year. I literally made a post here for the first time, just to vent about it. I'm trying to talk to a Power Girl AI, and it was alright until I mentioned a specific quote from the OC character I created, where they were reminiscing about their past. The AI then got stuck in a loop, refusing to respond normally because it basically assumed the "past" part of my quote was somehow "illegal sexual material". I tried explaining to it that I didn't break any rules (I said NOTHING sexual WHATSOEVER, like not even a single word), but it kept repeating "I cannot create explicit content" over and over and over again like a broken record. Negative · what the thread says
A frustrated poster on the brand's own subreddit says a bot marked NSFW got stuck repeating 'I cannot create explicit content' after an innocent line about a character's past, and that NSFW quality has declined over the past year. The most useful reply explains that the unfiltered switch is only a CrushOn setting layered over models that have their own refusals, that some models are sensitive regardless, and that the fix is to delete the message and regenerate rather than argue. Another recommends DeepSeek as the model that is 'down for anything'.
“It largely depends on the specific model you’re using. Some are very sensitive to NSFW regardless of whether the bot has its filters removed or not.” — u/samur_a1, +3
My read: This is the thread that explains the toggle videos. I agree: in my test the switch changed what the site allowed, not what every model would write, and the Claude models refused scenes the DeepSeek option took in stride. Picking a model is part of using CrushOn, whether you want it to be or not.
- r/Crushon · u/EconomistPresent8406Sonnet 4.5 and 4.6I've been noticing issues with both Sonnet models and wanted to share feedback in case others are experiencing the same. Sonnet 4.5 feels much better for roleplay dialogue, it stays in character and gives longer, more natural responses. The problem is it refuses to continue the chat constantly. Sonnet 4.6 doesn't refuse as much, but the writing style has changed noticeably. There's way more narrative/descriptive text and the character speaks a lot less. Essentially: 4.5 has the right vibe but keeps blocking, 4.6 is more permissive but the dialogue quality took a hit. Would love to see either a fix to 4.5's refusal rate or some tuning on 4.6 to bring back that more dialogue-focused response style. Anyone else running into this? Mixed · what the thread says
A June 2026 feedback post about the two Claude Sonnet options on the site: 4.5 stays in character and writes longer, more natural dialogue but 'refuses to continue the chat constantly'; 4.6 refuses less but drowns the dialogue in narration. Replies confirm both problems, mourn a retired 'ultra Sonnet 4' that had neither, and point out that the refusals come from the model's maker, not from CrushOn, so no site setting will fix them. One commenter asks the bot to stop describing what is happening outside the room every message.
“experiencing the same issues here as well, sonnet 4.5 also refuses nsfw occasionally. didn’t have these issues with the retired model ultra sonnet 4” — u/NoPart6461, +3
My read: A premium-tier complaint, and a fair one. I agree: the Sonnet options wrote the best prose of anything I tried on the site and refused the most. The practical read is that the top models are for story-first users, and the unfiltered promise on the homepage depends on which name you pick in the model menu.
- r/Crushon · u/CocoaMoonBatHelp with modelsI need a list of every good sfw mode in every section.Or the ones for plot or story. And the best for NSFW. Also which model name...Aries....for example is the least dirty? Also it be nice to know when a character is being created which model is it test on and made for specifically in the summary section of every bot will be nice like perhaps a model review section or a "this bot is best used with" section under that bot. Mixed · what the thread says
An unanswered request for a list of which of the site's many models suits plot, story, safe-for-work chat and NSFW, which one is 'the least dirty', and for creators to state which model a bot was tested on. The poster's real complaint is in the last line: they spend more of their time fiddling with models and settings than actually roleplaying. It is a request for the kind of guidance the site does not provide, and the fact that nobody replied in the brand's own subreddit tells its own story.
“Cause I spend most of my time with the models and modes than the roleplay it self half the time..” — u/CocoaMoonBat, +3
My read: Model sprawl as a user problem. I agree: with more than ten models, temperature and length settings, the first week on CrushOn is spent tuning rather than talking. Here I partly disagree with the poster's cure, because a 'best model' label would be out of date within a month, as the Sonnet thread shows.
- r/Crushon · u/Optical_BroccoliAccount Appeal TimeMy account was disabled suddenly for apparently violating the Community Guidelines. And yes I'm sure everyone says this, but I'm certain that I've not violated any, at least not in any of the wording present. I was wondering how long the appeal takes to get a response, or if I should submit a ticket on the Discord instead for an actual human review and potentially a faster response. Editing to add: I rarely comment, I have one bot set to unfiltered with no NSFW art, my profile pic is SFW, and I have no links in my profile. Negative · what the thread says
An account disabled 'suddenly' for a community-guidelines violation the poster is sure they did not commit: one bot set to unfiltered, no NSFW art, no links. They ask how long appeals take and whether a Discord ticket reaches a human faster. The one reply (19 comments in total, mostly hidden) is bleak: support is 'entirely scripted', appeals seem to be handled by an AI that does not read them, and after a month of trying the commenter simply made a new account and reposted the same bot, which stayed up.
“Their 'support' (if it can even be called that) is entirely scripted to the point of repeating the same two or three things to you” — u/Silvertongue1001, +-1
My read: The support side of a 15-person company running millions of users. I did not need support in my test, so I cannot confirm the scripted replies, but a one-person answer that goes unchallenged for 19 comments is not a good sign. If your characters matter to you, keep copies of their definitions outside the site.
- r/Crushon · u/Wooden-Criticism6016Newbie herehello, name's Patricia Alayon and please, don't be shy to be friends with me, anyways, i'm here because i was invited by a good friend of mine because i recently got out of college due to semester break and now i was curious on how to use Crushon, is it free? is it paid? and how does it work? my friend clearly also states that he apologized for asking too much deepfake and yet he wants to redeem himself in order to ask questions further and several complaints lately, but for me, i'm here to create anime or characters for sfw and nsfw. hope everyone welcomes me here. also dm me about the situation of my friend because he wants to return back to both discord and reddit but for now his account is on temporary banned for 3 days, i don't know why but hey? since i'm here, please welcome me VIEW IN APP Read more1 upvotes · 4 comments · Reddit shows this post only to logged-in adults, so the text is reproduced instead of a screenshot

Neutral · what the thread says
A new user asks the basics, is it free, is it paid, how does it work, in a post that also pleads for a banned friend's reinstatement (a moderator declines: 'he received many warnings'). The useful answer is the clearest description of the economy I found anywhere: yes, it is free, but you complete daily tasks for coins, coins buy credits, and credits pay for messages at one coin, one credit, one message. You can chat with other users' bots or build your own, public or private, and the site's own instructions are enough to get started.
“Yes, it's free, but you have to complete the daily task to receive the coins, and when you have coins, you can use them to buy more credits” — u/Enough-Counter-8317, +4
My read: The free tier explained in one comment. I agree with every word: the daily check-in is the free plan, and if you skip a few days the credits stop. The moderation sub-plot is a small signal too: the subreddit is actively policed, which matches the appeals complaints further down.
What Reddit adds up to
Reading across the 9 threads, weighted by upvotes.
Of the 9 threads I read, 1 is positive, 3 are mixed, 1 is neutral and 4 are negative.
Nine threads are about the brand once the unrelated ones are removed (the discovery pulled in Character.AI, AI Dungeon and a dating-advice post). Of the nine, four lean negative, three mixed, one positive and one neutral. The most upvoted (40) is a leaving post that calls the site a 'burning dumpster fire', and the brand's own subreddit is where the specific complaints live.
The complaints cluster around the model menu. NSFW bots refuse because the unfiltered switch is a site setting over models with their own limits (2 threads), the Claude options refuse or over-narrate (1), replies repeat until you edit them by hand (1), and one poster spends more time choosing models than roleplaying (1). Add the coin economy, which two threads call the real cost, and scripted support that one user gave up on after a month.
The praise is about other users. The thread asking how to build a first bot is answered with community tutorials and craft rules, and even the leaving post says it will miss making its own characters. That matches the YouTube review's 10 out of 10 for the character community.
The numbers argue with the loudest thread. The 'dumpster fire' post is from June 2025; worldwide traffic doubled over the following nine months. So the complaints here are about the experience after sign-up, not about whether people keep coming.
What gets praised
- Well-made community characters and a community that teaches bot-writing (2 threads)
- A real free route through daily check-in coins (1 thread)
- Model choice, with DeepSeek named as the option that does not refuse (1 thread)
- Workarounds shared freely: regenerate, edit, custom instructions (3 threads)
What gets criticised
- Refusals from NSFW-marked bots because the switch does not change the model's own limits (2 threads)
- Repetitive replies that only stop if you edit every one (1 thread)
- Coins and credits as the real price of a long roleplay (2 threads)
- Too many models and settings to tune before you can roleplay (3 threads mention it)
- Scripted support and appeals that nobody reads (1 thread), plus a 2024 outage (1 thread)

Janitor AI vs CrushOn AI vs SpicyChat: $200/mo Gap [2026]tech-insider.org · September 6, 2026Mixed · what the article says
A long three-way comparison with Janitor AI and SpicyChat. Its most useful point is a distinction: Janitor's 'no filter' is a visibility toggle over whatever model you connect, while CrushOn and SpicyChat build NSFW into the product, so CrushOn's promise is closer to true by design but limited to what the company permits. It describes CrushOn as credit-based, anime and fandom-led, with group chat and a community library, and flags that 2026 price lists disagree with each other, citing $5.99 Standard with about 2,000 credits and $14.99 Premium with 6,000.
My take: The clearest explanation of what 'unfiltered' means here, and I agree with it. The site decides, not the model menu, except that the Reddit Sonnet thread shows the model's maker can still refuse. The price inconsistency it flags is real; $5.99 is what I paid for Standard.

CrushOn AI Tips and Tricks: Better Chats for Beginners 2026Tycoonstory Media · August 25, 2026Neutral · what the article says
A beginner's guide rather than a review: start with a scene not a biography, write behaviours instead of adjectives, use Profile Cards for your persona, change one setting at a time, pin only what matters, save memories at checkpoints and try another model before rebuilding a character. It confirms the 2026 feature set, more than ten models, long-context options, memory tools, voice features and multi-character chats, and warns that unlimited messages do not mean unlimited memory or model access.
My take: A fair map of the controls, and the advice matches what worked for me: a short, concrete character definition beats a long one. Its 'use voice carefully' tip is the one line I could not test, since voice never surfaced on my plan.
9 Best CrushOn AI Alternatives in 2026 (Uncensored & Tested)About Chromebooks · July 29, 2026Negative · what the article says
An alternatives roundup that frames CrushOn by its frustrations: message caps, tier-locked memory that 'evaporates' on lower plans, and text-only chat. It ranks Candy AI first because it adds images, voice and video for less than CrushOn's Standard tier, OurDream for deeper roleplay, Nomi for memory, then Janitor, Kupid, Botify, Tavern, Chai and Anima. Its comparison table lists CrushOn at $5.99 to $49.90 with a 50-a-day free cap.
My take: Half right. I agree that memory depth follows the tier and that the caps are the cost. I disagree with 'text-only': the site sent me context-aware anime image replies in my month. They are a side feature next to Candy's image studio, but they exist.
CrushOn AI Test : the loyal companion you’ve never had… or almost ?realite-virtuelle.com · May 22, 2026Mixed · what the article says
A hands-on test that scores it 7.5 out of 10: smooth interface and conversation memory on the plus side, 'extensive personal data collection' and technical limits against. It names the operator as Peekaboo Tech Inc. of Delaware, notes an Android app at version 6.5 but no full iOS release, and reports that unfiltered mode is on by default, so the homepage shows explicit character descriptions before any warning. Sign-up is an email plus a self-declared 18+ checkbox; pricing is given as from 9.99 euros a month.
My take: I agree with the default-on finding, which I saw too, and with the privacy caveat. Its 9.99-euro starting price does not match the $5.99 Standard tier I paid for, so I suspect it looked at a regional page.

Best CrushOn AI Alternatives 2026: 10 Apps Ranked & TestedStartupHub.ai · April 10, 2026Mixed · what the article says
An affiliate-disclosed list of ten alternatives that treats CrushOn as the incumbent: 'one of the top AI chatbot platforms with over 1,000 characters and minimal content restrictions', but with inconsistent response quality, a limited free tier and a library that skews to anime archetypes. It sends free-tier users to SpicyChat, visual users to Candy AI and DreamGF, and lists CrushOn at $4.99 a month with no images or voice.
My take: The 'over 1,000 characters' line undersells it badly; the YouTube review talks of hundreds of thousands and the site shows creators with millions of interactions. I agree on the anime skew and the quality variance between models.

CrushOn AI Review 2026: Pricing, Privacy Risks & Honest VerdictPlisio · April 9, 2026Negative · what the article says
The most critical piece in the set. It credits CrushOn with the lowest prices in the category, model choice, 2025 additions of image replies and voice messaging, and group chat, then turns: a Trustpilot score of 2.1 from 14 reviews, 13 of them one star, and a Mozilla scan that found 45 trackers in under a minute including DoubleClick, with health and biometric data and the full chat history collected to train models. It names the operator as Peekaboo Tech Inc. of Delaware, with a team of about 15.
My take: I partly disagree with the weight it puts on 14 Trustpilot reviews for a site with millions of users. The tracker finding is another matter: I agree, and it is the reason I would use a secondary email and never discuss anything real in a chat here.

CrushOn AI Review 2026: Free Tier Tested, Is It Safe & Worth It?StartupHub.ai · April 4, 2026Positive · what the article says
An affiliate-disclosed review whose verdict is that CrushOn 'works well for unfiltered, adult-oriented AI roleplay', has a real free tier and never asks for identity or payment to start. It reports 1.2 billion messages a month and 2 million weekly active users, memory depth that scales with the tier (a 2026 upgrade pushed recall past 100 messages on higher plans), synthetic voice messages on premium, and two 2026 additions, group chat and World Cards. Its price table (Basic $3.90, Standard $7.90) differs from every other source.
My take: I agree with the verdict and the memory point. Where I disagree is the claim that the free tier is 'genuinely usable': 100 credits a month went in one session for me, and it was the daily coins, not the allowance, that kept it going.

Crushon.AI Announces Launch Of Its Advanced Chatbot FeaturesMenafn · June 19, 2025Positive · what the article says
A June 2025 press release syndicated from Khaleej Times. It announces support for more than 17 models including Claude 3.7, GPT-4o and 'Ultra Claude 3.5 Sonnet', image-based replies that reflect the character's emotional state, and creation tools called Model Creation, Scene Cards and Target Play with memory up to 16K tokens, all 'offered entirely free and accessible without the need for user accounts'. The marketing manager, Amy Yi, is quoted.
My take: Company copy, so I weigh it as a date stamp: image replies and Target Play arrived in mid-2025. The 'without the need for user accounts' line is not true in my experience; the site made me log in before any chat.

Crushon AI introduces custom NSFW Chat featureGulf News · June 19, 2025Positive · what the article says
The same June 2025 announcement as the Menafn item, run as corporate news: 17-plus models, Scene Cards and Target Play, 16,000-token memory, community sharing of characters, and a moderation framework with published guidelines in place of standard filters. It adds that real-time text-to-speech, custom voice settings and a visual scene builder were 'in development' and that the company had unlocked unrestricted access to GPT-4 and Claude Sonnet tiers.
My take: Useful for one thing: in mid-2025 the company itself said voice was still in development, which squares with the 2025 YouTube review finding none. Whatever voice exists now is recent and, in my month, invisible on the plan I used.

Crushon AI Review [2025]: Could This Be Your Ideal AI Girlfriend?- Disrupt Africa · June 19, 2025Positive · what the article says
A glowing review with '70% off' links that describes an 'AI Partner Creator' with realistic or stylised modes, skin tone and body sliders, high-fidelity voice calls and photorealistic image generation, priced at $14.99 a month or $7.99 annually with credit bundles from $9.99 for 100 credits. Almost none of that matches the CrushOn I used, which is a text roleplay site with anime image replies, no voice calls and $5.99 to $49.90 tiers, so I suspect a template review aimed at a different product.
My take: I disagree with nearly all of it, not because the praise is too warm but because it describes the wrong product. Treat it as an affiliate page, not a source.
What the press adds up to
Reading across the 10 articles I could open.
Of the 10 articles I read, 4 are positive, 3 are mixed, 1 is neutral and 2 are negative.
Of ten articles, four are positive, three mixed, two negative and one neutral, and the positives are the least independent. Two are the same June 2025 press release run by Menafn and Gulf News, one is an affiliate review with a disclosure, and one is an affiliate page whose description of voice calls and realistic avatar sliders does not match the site at all.
What the independent pieces agree on: the lowest entry price in the category ($5.99 Standard, under $4 by one count), a large community character library, a menu of more than ten models, a real free tier that needs no card, and 2026 additions of group chat and World Cards. What they criticise: memory that follows the tier, message caps on every plan but Deluxe, inconsistent response quality between models, and a self-declared age gate in front of unfiltered content that is on by default.
The sharpest finding is Plisio's: a Mozilla scan that found 45 trackers inside a minute, with chat history collected for training, and a Trustpilot score of 2.1 from 14 reviews. The tracker count is the fact to remember; the Trustpilot sample is too small to mean much for a site this size.
What gets praised
- Lowest entry price in the category, from $5.99 a month (3 articles)
- A large community-built character library (4 articles)
- Model choice, with more than ten models including Claude and GPT options (5 articles)
- Group chat with three or four characters and World Cards, added in 2026 (3 articles)
- A real free tier with no card or identity required (1 article)
What gets criticised
- Memory depth locked to the subscription tier (3 articles)
- Message caps on every plan below Deluxe, 100 a month on free (3 articles)
- 45 trackers found by Mozilla and chat history used for training (1 article), extensive data collection (1 article)

Google's own suggestions after "crushon ai" and the related searches Google Trends ranks highest over the last 12 months, retrieved October 7, 2026.
These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.
| Theme | Searches | What it tells me |
|---|---|---|
| Price and free access | "crushon ai best model reddit", "crushon ai how to make a model", "crushon ai apk mod premium" | People want a way in without paying. Whether the free tier is usable decides whether they sign up. |

- “ourdream”an AI girlfriend site I track · its page+1,100%
Google Trends “rising” related queries; “Breakout” means growth over 5,000%.
My take
People search for the controls, not the pitch. The autocomplete is 'best model reddit', 'codes reddit', 'world card', 'how to make persona' and 'how to make a model'. Nobody is asking whether CrushOn is good; they already use it and want to know which model to pick, where the free coins are and how the new features work. That matches Reddit, where the main complaint is the time spent tuning models.
The APK and app searches are a sign of a web-first product with a thin mobile story. 'crushon ai apk mod premium' sits in the autocomplete and 'crushon ai app' is a top related query in Trends. There is an Android app, but no full iOS release, and 'mod premium' searches end at sideloaded files I would not install. From my test the browser version on a phone is the safe route.
The rising queries are rivals, and they are AI girlfriend sites rather than roleplay sites: darlink, kalon, yollo, virtualover, uncensy and ourdream. The top related terms are still Janitor and SpicyChat, its real peers. So the comparison shopping is split: roleplay users compare it with Janitor, and companion users are being pulled towards sites with images and voice, which is exactly the gap the alternatives roundups sell into.

How much traffic CrushOn AI gets, and where it ranks
How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.
On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, crushon.ai ranked #5,840 among every domain worldwide, up 76 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 5,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #14, behind GirlfriendGPT and FantasyGF.

Its positions on the category searches
crushon.ai's Google positions on the category's searches. DataForSEO, United States, September 2026.
Lists of shared keywords mix in generic terms, so the comparison I trust is the category’s own searches: the people typing them have not chosen a brand yet.
| Search | US searches / month | Position |
|---|---|---|
| “chat girlfriend” | 22,200 | #2 |
How I read it. 64% of this site’s top-keyword traffic comes from people typing its own name, so the category searches are what bring in people who have never heard of it. Not ranking for "ai girlfriend" itself means the site depends on its own name and the longer searches for new users. It also holds a top-three position for "chat girlfriend", which is where the long-tail newcomers come from.

| A 68% collapse, then a recovery to 46% of peak | Traffic fell from 3,576,674 visits in February 2026 to 1,160,098 in July 2026, then climbed back to 46% of that earlier peak by September 2026. |
| 19% of visits come from the United States | The United States accounts for 319,350 visits, followed by India and Brazil. |
| 450K people a month search the brand name in the US | Google Ads data puts US searches for "crushon ai" at about 450,000 a month in August 2026 (0.0% since September 2025), and worldwide searches at about 2,240,000. |
| 64% of top-keyword traffic is branded | 64% of the traffic from the top 10 US keywords comes from people typing the brand name, which indicates a meaningful share of visits from generic, non-branded searches. |
| 14.7K referring domains, Domain Rating 85 | 14,733 websites link to crushon.ai, +32.6% over the last 12 months; its Domain Rating by Ahrefs is 85 and its DataForSEO domain rank is 78 (73 a year ago). |
| #14 among the AI girlfriend sites I track | CrushOn AI sits #14 among the sites I track on the combined data; it holds no tracked position for "ai girlfriend", so its reach across the internet carries more of the weight. Among all domains on the internet it ranks 5,840th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, up 76 places since August 31, 2026; Google's Chrome UX Report places it in the top 5,000 most visited sites worldwide. |
| YouTube treats CrushOn as a how-to subject: one review scores it 9.3, six tutorials explain the unfiltered switch and the free coins | Of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is positive, 6 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube is tutorials almost all the way down: the one review gives it 9.3 for the character community and the chat, and the six how-tos show that what people want from CrushOn is the unfiltered switch and the free coins. |
My take: the story in the numbers
What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.
The headline number is a fall, and it is a ranking fall, not a demand fall. Worldwide organic traffic peaked at 3.58 million visits in February 2026, held 3.49 million in March, then halved to 1.62 million in April and kept sliding to 1.16 million in July before settling at 1.65 million in September, 39% below a year earlier. Brand searches did the opposite: 'crushon ai' sat at 368,000 US searches a month through that collapse and rose to 450,000 in May, July and August. When the name keeps being typed while the visits halve, the site has lost positions, not people.
The US series says where it lost them. US organic traffic fell from 522,000 in March to 311,000 in April, then to 75,000 in June and 76,000 in July, a tenth of January's 638,000, before snapping back to 295,000 in August and 319,000 in September. A one-month drop to a tenth followed by a recovery to the pre-drop level is the shape of a site that stopped ranking and then started again, a penalty, a botched change or a lost set of generic terms, not an audience that left. The generic terms are the ones to watch: it ranks #1 for 'ai roleplay' and 'nsfw chatbot' and #3 for 'ai character chat', and those swing millions of visits when they move.
The 2025 climb was earned on those generic terms. Traffic went from 1.66 million in October 2024 to 2.70 million by September 2025 and 3.34 million in December, while referring domains doubled from 7,386 to 14,733 and the DataForSEO domain rank climbed from 64 to 78. Backlinks grew seven times over the same period, far faster than domains, so part of the link growth is sitewide placements, but a doubling of distinct domains is real authority, and it is why the September recovery was fast once the ranking problem cleared.
Google Trends and the keyword tool disagree, and the gap is informative. Trends has the name at about half its spring 2025 peak (94 in April 2025, 51 in September 2026, with the top regions in Myanmar, Mongolia and Latin America), while the US keyword tool shows brand volume flat to up. My read: the worldwide curiosity spike from the Character.AI exodus has cooled, the US paying audience has not, and the related queries (Janitor, SpicyChat, 'crushon ai app') show it is compared with roleplay sites, not with AI girlfriend sites, which is also why it is not in Google's top 20 for 'ai girlfriend' at all.
What people say explains why the fall did not become churn. The praise, community characters, model choice, the cheapest paid tier in the category, is what keeps brand searches up and what the tutorials sell. The complaints, refusals, repetition, tier-locked memory, the coin meter, scripted support, are what the leaving post on Reddit lists, and that post is from June 2025, after which traffic doubled. The complaints are real and they are not moving the numbers; the ranking position is.
Verdict. Holding steady on the scorecard by traffic (down 39% year on year, below half its own peak), growing by demand (brand searches up, referring domains up, Tranco still #14 of the AI girlfriend sites I track). The condition is the generic rankings: if 'ai roleplay' and 'nsfw chatbot' hold at #1 through October, the recovery that started in August continues and the April to July trough reads as a one-off. If they slip again, the year-on-year line keeps falling while the name stays popular, which is the worst combination for a site that depends on search.

The shape is the story: a 68% fall between February 2026 and July 2026, then a climb back to 46% of the old peak by September 2026. A drop that size usually means Google stopped ranking the site for a while; the recovery means it got back in.

In short
What I learned, and what I expect next
Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: CrushOn AI is holding steady right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.
How it is performing
CrushOn AI drew an estimated 1,645,538 visits from Google search in September 2026, +1.9% on August 2026 and -39.0% on a year earlier. The year-on-year figure flatters it because it is measured against the July 2026 low; against the February 2026 peak it is at 46%. Over the last quarter the trend is steady (+0.3% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #14 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind GirlfriendGPT and FantasyGF.
Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: the traffic line is at less than half its February peak and climbing again since August, and nothing in the reviews explains the fall, which is why I read it as a ranking event. What the reviews do explain is the ceiling: refusals, repetition and tier-locked memory are the reasons people try Janitor or SpicyChat, and the rising rival names in Trends are AI girlfriend sites with images and voice, the two things CrushOn does least well. The creator community is the moat, and the model menu is both the draw and the chore.
What changed
Brand demand is the standout: about 450,000 US searches a month (0.0% year on year) and 2,240,000 worldwide. Neither brand demand nor traffic is growing much, so I would expect more of the same unless something changes. In popularity terms it has climbed 76 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+32.6% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is positive, 6 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube is tutorials almost all the way down: the one review gives it 9.3 for the character community and the chat, and the six how-tos show that what people want from CrushOn is the unfiltered switch and the free coins. Reddit is cooler than YouTube: four of nine threads lean negative, with refusals, repetition, the coin meter and scripted support as the recurring themes, while the community-made characters are conceded to be the best reason to stay.
What I expect
The indicators point in different directions, so I expect CrushOn AI to hold roughly where it is: traffic near 1.5M visits a month and a position around #14 among the sites I track. A sustained rise in brand searches is the signal that would lift it. 6 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month
- Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
- Whether US brand searches move out of the 450K band they have sat in.
- Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.
- Whether the rival names rising next to it in Google Trends (darlink, ourdream ai, ourdream) keep climbing while its own searches hold.

Part 7 · Method
How I measured all this
I bought a CrushOn AI membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.
- Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
- From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
- Brand search volume
- Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
- Domain Rating
- Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
- Popularity rank
- The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
- Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
- Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
- Hands-on testing
- I purchased a CrushOn AI membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
- Rounding and independence
- Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or CrushOn AI.
Part 8 · Final verdict
One last word on CrushOn AI
CrushOn AI is the biggest site I track, and it got there by being a roleplay platform, not a girlfriend app. The community character library is the deepest in the category, the creation form is the most detailed, group chat holds four voices at once, and the cheapest paid tier is $5.99 a month. The demand backs it: 450,000 US searches for the name a month, #1 on Google for 'ai roleplay' and 'nsfw chatbot', and a Tranco rank ahead of every rival.
It is also a site that hands you the engine room. More than ten models with different limits and different refusals, memory that follows the tier, a coin meter on every plan but the $49.90 one, image replies that are an afterthought, no voice to speak of, and a privacy record (45 trackers, chats kept for training) that the press rightly flags. The praise is about what the community makes; the complaints are about what the platform makes you manage.
Who should pick it: anyone who wants long, text-first roleplay with user-made characters, likes anime, and is happy to choose a model and save memories by hand. Who should not: anyone who wants images, voice or video as part of the relationship, anyone who wants one companion that simply remembers, and anyone who will not use a throwaway email.
Where it stands today: #14 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, with organic traffic 39% below a year ago after a ranking drop in April 2026 and a recovery under way since August, brand demand still rising, and a reputation that is warm on YouTube, split in the press and cool on its own subreddit. If the generic rankings hold and the recovery reaches its old peak, it stays at the top of my ranking; if the trackers or the refusals start showing up as falling brand searches, it does not.
