DarLink

An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.

I bought a DarLink membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of darlink.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a DarLink membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade DarLink on my feel alone.

I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.

This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and DarLink’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.

Part 1 · What it offers

What DarLink offers

DarLink (darlink.ai) is an adult AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it, with voice, AI-generated images, video on top of text chat. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.

Free tier
There is a free trial that lets you build a companion and chat a little, with images, video and most of the roleplay and memory features behind the paid tiers and their coins.

Part 2 · What people say

What people say about DarLink

I bought a membership and tested DarLink myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 2 YouTube videos with 849 views between them, 2 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 2 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 2 video transcripts (1,757 words), 2 threads with their top comments and 2 articles in full, and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.

Favourability at a glance

Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.

Each feature, and what people think of it

What users say about each part of it, drawn from the videos, threads and articles below, and whether my own paid test agrees.

FeatureVerdictWhat people say
Custom companion builderPositiveThe one thing every source agrees on: you build the companion rather than pick her, with appearance, personality and relationship set up front (both articles, the Review 3.0 guide). StartupHub notes the builder is wired to a creator model, with @handles on cards and creator badges on paid tiers. The guide's caveat is that a builder is 'decoration' if the chat does not carry the personality. My test: Agree. The builder is the best part of the product, and my companion still sounded like the one I set up a week later, which is the test the guide asks for.
Chat and roleplayMixedRoleplay is sold in three tiers, 'quick', 'deep' and an 'elite engine' with unlimited creation, and neither article could find out what separates them (2 articles). The Reddit question post claims long uncensored sessions that 'stay good'; its top reply is 'trash'. Message caps of 6,000 and 9,000 a month apply below Ultimate. My test: Partly disagree. The ladder oversells itself: everyday chat and roleplay on the entry tier held character and stayed uncensored for me, and what the higher tiers buy is more messages and coins, not a visibly better writer.
MemoryMixedAlso tiered: 'basic', 'enhanced' and 'living' memory, with no context window or message count published (2 articles), so Kupid, which states its window, cannot be compared. Tycoonstory says the companion 'may feel more connected over time' on higher plans, which is the marketing restated. My test: Partly disagree. Basic memory held a detail across sessions in my test, which is more than some rivals' top tiers manage; I would not pay for the ladder on memory alone.
Image and video generationPositiveAn image costs 2 coins and a video 20, printed on the pricing page, which StartupHub calls the brand's genuine advantage over Candy and My Dream Companion (2 articles). Essential's 100 coins are 50 images or 5 videos a month. Tycoonstory lists fast token burn among its red flags; the Review 3.0 guide warns that 'AI girlfriend video' can mean anything. My test: Agree. Knowing the exchange rate before paying is rare and welcome, and the images matched the companion I built; the videos are short clips, and 20 coins each means five a month on the entry plan.
VoiceNegativeSix preset voices on Essential and ten on the higher tiers, and voice is a selection of presets rather than live calling, which StartupHub flags for anyone arriving from Kupid's phone-call pitch (1 article). The Reddit question post's 'super realistic voice' claim is not echoed by any reply, and the Review 3.0 guide warns that voice presets expose robotic pacing. My test: Agree. Voice messages are fine for a line or two; there is no call to have, and the Reddit praise for 'realistic voice' does not describe this product.
Character libraryMixedPublished counts of 334,444 realistic, 44,131 anime and 7,198 furry companions, almost all user-made, with filters by relationship, personality, occupation and body type, and NSFW cards blurred until you ask (1 article). StartupHub's trade-off: no curated quality floor, and likes and comments are the only signal before you open one.My test: Agree. The library is enormous and uneven; sorting by likes gets you to the good ones, and the builder is the reason to be here anyway.
Free tierMixedA free trial before any subscription (StartupHub), described by Tycoonstory as limited exploration with 'the strongest features tied to paid plans'. Google's AI summary lists the three paid tiers and no free allowance. No source says how many free messages or coins you get.My test: Agree. The trial is enough to try the builder and a short chat; images and video are where the coins start, so you cannot judge the media without paying.
Price, coins and the yearly badgeMixedEssential $12.99 a month or $9.99 yearly ($119.88), Advanced $27.99 or $18.99, Ultimate $49.99 or $32.99, with 100, 300 and 500 coins (2 articles); extra packs run $9.99 to $599.99 (Google's summary). StartupHub's complaint: every price leads with a per-day figure and the 'SAVE 44%' badge applies to no tier, the real savings being 23% to 34%.My test: Agree. Essential yearly is fair for a builder with published media costs; the badge and the $1.10-a-day framing are the kind of thing you only notice on the invoice.
Billing and cancellationNegativeThe loudest complaint about the brand: StartupHub read early-2026 Reddit threads about cancelling by email over days, one user 'seven emails deep over eight days' and considering a chargeback, with the cancel link called camouflaged. Refunds are issued only for fraudulent charges (1 article), and the only autocomplete suggestion for the brand is 'darlink ai payment failed'.My test: Partly disagree. The mechanism is not as bad as the complaint, the outcome is: I found the cancel control in account settings without emailing anyone, but it is small and easy to miss, and the no-refund rule means a missed renewal is yours to keep.
Privacy and legitimacyMixedA registered Swiss company, FameLink SA, named in Google's summary and the site's own page metadata, with support@darlink.ai and no reports of malware or fake charges (2 articles). Against that, the privacy policy says chats, voice messages and images are stored, and Tycoonstory advises against sharing anything sensitive. 18+ by self-declaration only.My test: Agree. A named operator with an address in the Jura is more than most rivals publish; assume the chats are kept, as everywhere in this category.

How I read this

Sentiment is the hardest thing to measure honestly. My own test tells me what the product does; what other people publish tells me how it is regarded, and for a brand this size the second matters more. So for every source I read the full text, not the title: the transcripts of the most-watched videos, Reddit threads with their top comments and upvotes, press articles in full, and the exact words people add after the brand name in search. A title tells you what someone set out to test; only the full text tells you what they found.

The most-watched videos, and what they actually say

For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.

  • Darlink AI Review 2026: Custom Girlfriend Builder, Voice, Video, and Upgrade Watch-OutsReview 3.0 · 3mo ago · 6:09 · 521 views

Mixed · what the video says

A six-minute buyer's guide rather than a test. Its thesis is that a custom builder can be 'a shiny setup screen that hides average chat, expensive media features, or weak memory', so it proposes three checks: build one companion with a specific look and personality, chat for fifteen minutes and see whether she still sounds like herself; decide which of photos, voice and video you would use weekly, because those turn a cheap plan into an expensive habit; and read the cancellation terms. It places DarLink for builders, Candy AI for beginners, OurDream for story worlds and Promptchan for images, then points to an affiliate link.

My read: Sensible advice with no evidence behind it, and I agree with the method more than the placement. The consistency test is the right one and my companion passed it for a week. Where I disagree is the silence on billing: it tells you to check the cancellation rules and never mentions that cancellation is the single loudest complaint about this site.

  • Darlink AI: Ultimate Thumbnail Secret GuideReggie Curtis · 6mo ago · 5:18 · 328 views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

Not about this brand. An AI-generated two-host 'podcast' about YouTube thumbnails declares that 'Darlink AI as a platform doesn't actually exist' and that people searching the name are chasing a ghost, then recommends Canva, Runway ML and vidIQ instead. The hosts have invented the premise: they treat the search volume for 'darlink ai' as demand for a thumbnail tool, which it is not. Its 328 views are people who searched the brand name and landed on a content farm. Nothing in it describes the companion site.

My read: Zero weight, but it is evidence of the brand's search spike. Content farms generate videos for names that suddenly trend, and this one was made six months ago, inside the window when brand searches hit 135,000 a month. A site that gets a fake podcast made about it is a site that was briefly very searched, which fits the numbers below.

What the videos add up to

Reading across the 2 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.

Of the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is mixed, 1 is a neutral walkthrough with no verdict and none is negative.

Two videos, 849 views, and no hands-on review between them. Review 3.0's guide is the only one about the product, and it is a method for testing a custom builder rather than a report of having done so: check the companion stays in character for fifteen minutes, pay only for the media features you will use weekly, read the cancellation terms. It is mixed in tone and ends on an affiliate link. The second video is a content-farm podcast that treats the brand name as a non-existent thumbnail tool.

What the guide gets right matters because nobody else on YouTube says it: images, voice and video are where a cheap plan becomes an expensive habit, voice presets can sound impressive in a demo and tiresome after five minutes, and 'AI girlfriend video' can mean anything from a clip to a talking head. All three apply to DarLink, whose media runs on coins and whose voice is a set of presets rather than calls.

The absence is the story. A brand whose name was searched 135,000 times a month in April 2026 has no reviewer on YouTube who sat down with it, which tells me the demand came from somewhere other than reviews. The press and Reddit sections below say where.

What gets praised

  • The custom builder is the reason to look at it, for people who want to build rather than pick from a list (1 of the 2 videos)
  • Chat, photos, voice and video in one product match what buyers want from a modern companion (1 video)
  • The guide's advice to test one media feature at a time and set a credit budget (1 video)

What gets criticised

  • A builder can be decoration if the chat does not carry the personality; the guide treats this as the open question (1 video)
  • Media features are where a cheap plan turns expensive, and voice presets can grate after five minutes (1 video)
  • Candy AI is named as the easier start for beginners, OurDream and Promptchan as better for stories and images (1 video)
  • The second result is a content-farm podcast that says the platform does not exist, which is what a newcomer searching the name may watch (1 video)

What Reddit says, thread by thread

The threads Google surfaces for "darlink ai" on Reddit, read with their top comments. Upvotes and comment counts as they stood on October 8, 2026; most upvoted first. Screenshots show the post as it is publicly visible.

What Reddit adds up to

Reading across the 2 threads, weighted by upvotes.

Of the 2 threads I read, 1 is neutral and 1 is negative.

Two threads, both in r/AIGirlfriend, both age-gated, neither a conversation. One is a review post with ten upvotes and no comments whose body Reddit hides. The other is a question that repeats the brand's marketing ('recommended like crazy', 'super realistic voice', 'near-unlimited messages') and is answered with 'trash', 'don't pay attention to OP's spam' and two plugs for rivals.

The pattern matches what the press found. StartupHub's review says the loudest thing about DarLink on Reddit is people who cannot cancel, with several 'cancel subscription' threads in early 2026, and the candy.ai threads I read for another profile include a commenter who plugs DarLink unprompted. Praise for this brand on Reddit tends to arrive in the form of a question or a recommendation from an account with no history, and regulars have learned to say so.

What I take from it: the Reddit record is too thin and too hostile to settle the product question either way. It does settle the marketing question: the December 2025 to May 2026 search spike was accompanied by seeded posts, and the community noticed.

What gets praised

  • The brand is 'getting recommended like crazy' and praised for voices, messages, active developers and pricing, according to the question post itself (1 thread, the post not the replies)
  • A ten-upvote post claims three weeks of testing, which is more time than any YouTube reviewer gave it (1 thread, body hidden)
  • No reply alleges fraud or a breach; the hostility is about spam, not safety (2 threads)

What gets criticised

  • The top reply to the question post is 'trash' (1 thread)
  • The question post is called spam by a reply, and the praise it repeats matches the brand's marketing (1 thread)
  • Replies push readers to rivals or to running a local model instead (1 thread, 3 comments)
  • Cancellation difficulty, reported second-hand via StartupHub's reading of early-2026 threads not in this set (0 of the 2 threads here)

In the press

The latest articles that mention DarLink, newest first. For each one: what it says, then my take on its view of the brand.

  • DarLink AI Review: Is It Worth It? Features, Pricing and Honest VerdictStartupHub.ai · August 12, 2026

Mixed · what the article says

An eleven-minute review (August 2026, affiliate links disclosed) built on the brand's one clear advantage: it prints what media costs, 2 tokens an image and 20 a video, before you pay, which rivals do not. It lists tiers at $12.99, $27.99 and $49.99 monthly (23% to 34% less yearly), coins of 100, 300 and 500, a 386,000-companion user-made library and voice as presets, not calls. Its complaints: a 'SAVE 44%' badge no plan earns, and Reddit threads about cancelling by email. Verdict: 'the product is fine, the billing is not'.

My take: The most useful source on this page, and I agree with its verdict almost word for word: published coin costs are rare and the badge is what you notice on the invoice. I partly disagree on cancellation: I found the control without emailing, but it is easy to miss.

  • Darlink AI Review 2026: Pricing, Safety & FeaturesTycoonstory Media · May 22, 2026

Mixed · what the article says

A 4,500-word review (May 2026) researched from the site's own pages rather than a test: the builder, three roleplay tiers (quick, deep, 'elite engine'), three memory tiers, 6 or 10 preset voices, images at 2 tokens and video at 20. Its safety section is the substance: chats, voice messages and images are stored, refunds are issued only for fraudulent charges, and subscriptions auto-renew, listed among its red flags with fast token burn. It says the site is reachable through app stores and names Candy, Replika, Character.AI and Kindroid as alternatives.

My take: A fair policy read-through with no hands-on findings. I agree with its red flags, which come from the brand's own refund and renewal terms. I disagree with one fact: there is no app-store app, as StartupHub and Google's AI summary both say.

What the press adds up to

Reading across the 2 articles I could open.

Of the 2 articles I read, 2 are mixed and none is negative.

Two articles, both mixed, neither hostile. StartupHub's August 2026 review is the closer look: it credits the brand for printing token costs on the pricing page, then spends its conclusion on Reddit users who needed days of email to cancel, and scores the startup 14 out of 100 on its own scale. Tycoonstory's May piece is a policy summary that reaches the same red flags from the terms: refunds only for fraud, auto-renewal, stored chats and images.

What they agree on: a deep builder, a very large user-made library, images at 2 coins and videos at 20, tiers at $12.99, $27.99 and $49.99 monthly with 23% to 34% off yearly, a Swiss operator, and no app. What they criticise: a 'SAVE 44%' badge that no tier earns, per-day price framing, unpublished memory and roleplay specifics behind the tier names, voice that is presets rather than calls, and cancellation.

Both carry a conflict: StartupHub discloses affiliate links, Tycoonstory reads like placed content. I weight StartupHub higher because it says something the brand would not want said. Neither mentions the search spike or the Reddit seeding, which is the part of the story the numbers tell.

What gets praised

  • Published media costs, 2 tokens an image and 20 a video, before checkout (2 articles)
  • A custom builder and a user-made library of more than 380,000 companions with deep filters (2 articles)
  • A registered Swiss operator with public terms and no reports of fake charges (2 articles)
  • Chat, roleplay, images, video and voice in one product (2 articles)

What gets criticised

  • Cancellation requiring email support and taking days, per Reddit threads the review read (1 article)
  • A 'SAVE 44%' yearly badge on plans that actually save 23% to 34%, and per-day price framing (1 article)
  • Refunds only for fraudulent charges; subscriptions auto-renew (1 article)
  • Memory and roleplay tiers with no published specifics; voice is presets, not calls (2 articles)
  • Chats, voice messages and images are stored (1 article)

How Google’s AI describes it

The AI Overview Google showed for a US search of "darlink.ai" on October 7, 2026, quoted as is.

Darlink AI is an 18+ browser-based AI companion and virtual girlfriend platform operated by the registered Swiss company FameLink SA. Core Features & Pricing Capabilities: Offers text chat, voice interaction, and personalized AI image/video generation. Pricing Tiers: Publicly lists subscription tiers (Essential, Advanced, Ultimate) starting at $12.99 per month, with lower rates if billed quarterly or yearly. Additional token packs range from $9.99 to $599.99. Access: Fully web-browser based; no official standalone iOS or Android mobile apps are currently available. Safety, Privacy & User Feedback Data Handling: The Darlink Privacy Policy notes that interactions and messages are stored to…

Google cited: Google, Google, Benchling, www.datastudios.org

How AI systems regard it: my take

Why this matters: DarLink's name was searched 135,000 times a month at its peak and most of those people had never heard of it a year earlier. For a brand that arrived by advertising, Google's AI summary is the first neutral description most of them will read, and it is the one place where the operator's name and the token-pack prices appear together.

The framing is '18+ browser-based companion platform operated by the registered Swiss company FameLink SA' first, then chat, voice, image and video, the three tiers from $12.99 with quarterly and yearly discounts, token packs from $9.99 to $599.99, no iOS or Android app, and a data-handling note that chats are stored. That is the same order the press uses, and the $599.99 top pack is a fact the brand's own marketing does not lead with.

One claim I would caveat: 'voice interaction' sits in the capabilities list as though it were a feature on a par with chat and images. In my test and in StartupHub's, voice is a set of presets for voice messages, not calls, and the Reddit praise for 'super realistic voice' describes a different product. I also disagree with the omission of the one thing everyone outside the brand talks about: cancellation.

What people type into Google before they sign up

Google's own suggestions after "darlink ai" and the related searches Google Trends ranks highest over the last 12 months, retrieved October 7, 2026.

These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.

  • “virtualover”Breakout

Google Trends “rising” related queries; “Breakout” means growth over 5,000%.

My take

One autocomplete suggestion, and it is 'darlink ai payment failed'. When the only thing Google completes after a brand name is a billing problem, the search box is telling you what the brand's existing customers type, and it matches the Reddit cancellation threads StartupHub read. There is no 'free', 'review' or 'app' suggestion, which for a name this searched is unusual and means the queries are concentrated on the name alone.

The related queries are 'reddit' first, then 'ai chat', 'grok', 'ai video generator', 'candy ai' and 'uncensored ai'. People who search this brand go to Reddit next to check whether it is real, and the rising list is pure comparison shopping: janitor, muah, character ai, playbox, eternal ai, spicychat and virtualover all broke out alongside it. That is what a name people have just seen in an ad looks like: they search it, then they search what else exists.

Beneath the brand terms there is one real category foothold: #3 for 'create ai girlfriend' (2,900 a month) and #3 to #5 for its variants. That is the right query for a builder and the only non-brand traffic worth having here. The 'darlink' and 'dark link ai' misspellings, 19,400 searches between them, are people who heard the name rather than read it, which again points at ads and word of mouth rather than reviews.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach

How much traffic DarLink gets, and where it ranks

How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.

On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, darlink.ai ranked #396,591 among every domain worldwide, down 7,232 places since August 31, 2026, and Chrome's data puts it in the top 500,000 most visited sites. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #41, behind CraveU and Nectar.ai.

How I read this

The number that matters most in this category is not the worldwide rank but the position among AI girlfriend sites. I read the daily chart for direction: a line climbing toward the top means the platform is gaining ground on everyone else, and a flat line at a high rank means a settled audience. Tranco is a rank, not a visit count, so I never convert it into visits.

Its positions on the category searches

darlink.ai's Google positions on the category's searches. DataForSEO, United States, September 2026.

Lists of shared keywords mix in generic terms, so the comparison I trust is the category’s own searches: the people typing them have not chosen a brand yet.

SearchUS searches / monthPosition
“create ai girlfriend”2,900#3
“make your own ai girlfriend”720#3
“create your ai girlfriend”590#3
“create an ai girlfriend”480#5

How I read it. 77% of this site’s top-keyword traffic comes from people typing its own name, so the category searches are what bring in people who have never heard of it. Not ranking for "ai girlfriend" itself means the site depends on its own name and the longer searches for new users. It also holds a top-three position for "create ai girlfriend", "make your own ai girlfriend", "create your ai girlfriend", which is where the long-tail newcomers come from.

How I read this

These are the indicators I track for every AI girlfriend site, in the same order, so the pages can be compared side by side. Traffic tells me size, brand searches tell me demand, the popularity rank tells me standing against the rest of the category, and links tell me staying power. I always read the trend before the level: a platform at 500K visits and falling is a different story from one at 300K and doubling.

#41 among the AI girlfriend sites I trackDarLink sits #41 among the sites I track on the combined data; it holds no tracked position for "ai girlfriend", so its reach across the internet carries more of the weight. Among all domains on the internet it ranks 396,591th in the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, down 7,232 places since August 31, 2026; Google's Chrome UX Report places it in the top 500,000 most visited sites worldwide.
One buyer's guide that never tested the product, and one AI podcast that says the product does not existOf the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is mixed, 1 is a neutral walkthrough with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube offers DarLink one sensible buyer's guide that never tested it and one AI-generated podcast that denies it exists, so the video record adds a method, not a verdict.

My take: the story in the numbers

What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.

The demand curve is a campaign, not a product arc. US searches for 'darlink ai' were 1,900 a month in September and October 2025, 5,400 in November, 49,500 in December, 110,000 in January 2026 and 135,000 in April and May. Then they fell as fast as they rose: 90,500 in June, 49,500 in July, 27,100 in August, down 80% from the peak in three months. Google Trends traces the same hill, from 0 to 93 and back to 17 by August. A brand does not become seventy times more searched in six months on word of mouth; that shape is paid reach, and the Reddit record on this page (a seeded question, replies calling it spam, a commenter plugging it in a candy.ai thread) is what the paid reach looked like on the ground. The top Trends region being China, for an English-language adult site, is another sign the audience was bought rather than grown.

Organic traffic rose while demand fell, and I think the estimate is lagging. Worldwide visits went from 3,861 in November 2025 to 21,301 in July 2026, then doubled to 43,667 in August and reached 51,200 in September, a new peak, at the same time brand searches were collapsing. Two things explain it. The site now ranks #1 for its own name and misspellings and #3 for 'create ai girlfriend', so it captures nearly all of whatever demand exists. And the keyword database lists 'darlink ai' at 60,500 searches, a twelve-month average that still carries the spring spike; multiply a new #1 ranking by an inflated average and you get a traffic jump that the real monthly demand, 27,100 and falling, does not support. The Tranco all-traffic rank, flat at around 390,000 to 397,000 across the same weeks, says the site's real reach has not doubled. I expect the organic estimate to come down as the average rolls over.

The link profile is young and ordinary. Referring domains went from 60 in September 2025 to 147 in October, 237 in November and 441 now; backlinks from 1,317 to 4,685. That is about ten links per domain, the signature of reviews and directories rather than sitewide placements, and the jump in October and November 2025 is affiliates signing up as the campaign started. A domain rating of 51 on 441 referring domains is high for the count, which fits a brand that has been written about by affiliates more than by anyone else.

The rivals rode the same wave. Seven names broke out in Trends alongside the brand: janitor, muah, character ai, playbox, eternal ai, spicychat and virtualover. People who learned the name from an ad searched it, then searched the alternatives, and the brand's cost per click of $7.27, double Candy AI's $3.52, says advertisers, very likely those rivals, are bidding on the name. Demand that was bought once is being sold on.

What people say explains why the demand did not stick. The praise, in the press and the guide, is for the builder and the published coin costs; neither generates repeat searches. The complaints are about the exit: cancelling by email over days, no refunds except for fraud, a 'SAVE 44%' badge that no plan earns, and an autocomplete that completes the brand name with 'payment failed'. A brand that spends to acquire and then makes leaving hard converts its spike into chargebacks and Reddit threads rather than into a baseline, which is what the August search number shows.

Verdict. Growing on the organic estimate (5 indicators up, 2 down), shrinking on every measure of demand. The most plausible reading is a Swiss builder with an honest price list and a hard exit that bought a very large audience between December and May and kept a small part of it. The number that decides the next quarter is brand search: if it finds a floor above the 1,900 it started from, the campaign bought a brand; if it keeps halving, the traffic line will follow it down once the keyword averages catch up.

Visit the site, or compare it with the rest of the category first.

In short

What I learned, and what I expect next

Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: DarLink is growing right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.

How it is performing

DarLink drew an estimated 51,200 visits from Google search in September 2026, +17.3% on August 2026 and +1962.9% on a year earlier. Over the last quarter the trend is growing (+139.9% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #41 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind CraveU and Nectar.ai.

Reading the trend with the reviews in hand: the organic line is at an all-time high and I do not trust it, because the brand searches it depends on fell 80% in three months and the all-traffic rank never moved. What people praise, the builder and the printed coin costs, is real and is why the site deserves its #3 for 'create ai girlfriend'. What they criticise, the cancellation process and the yearly badge, is what turns a bought audience into a departing one, and the 'payment failed' autocomplete is the first place that shows. The thing I check next month is whether brand search stops falling; everything else on this page is downstream of it.

What changed

Brand demand is the standout: about 27,100 US searches a month (+1326.3% year on year) and 90,500 worldwide. Demand and traffic are rising together, which is the healthiest pattern there is. In popularity terms it has slipped 7,232 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+635.0% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 2 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 1 is mixed, 1 is a neutral walkthrough with no verdict and none is negative. YouTube offers DarLink one sensible buyer's guide that never tested it and one AI-generated podcast that denies it exists, so the video record adds a method, not a verdict. Reddit gives DarLink one unreadable review and one seeded question answered with 'trash' and 'spam', so the community record is hostile to the marketing rather than to the product itself.

What I expect

With demand, traffic and links moving the same way, I expect DarLink to keep gaining ground over the next few months. The thing that would change my mind is a month-on-month drop that repeats, which is why I refresh these figures monthly. 3 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month

  • Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
  • Whether US brand searches move out of the 27.1K band they have sat in.
  • Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.

Part 7 · Method

How I measured all this

I bought a DarLink membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.

Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
Brand search volume
Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
Domain Rating
Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
Popularity rank
The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
Hands-on testing
I purchased a DarLink membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
Rounding and independence
Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or DarLink.

Part 8 · Final verdict

One last word on DarLink

DarLink is the most honest price list in the category attached to the hardest exit, and three weeks with it left me liking the product more than the company. The builder is the best reason to be here, the images matched the companion I made, and knowing that an image costs 2 coins and a video 20 before paying is something Candy and My Dream Companion still do not offer. The press agrees on all of that, and so, in its way, does the one Reddit poster who praised it before being called spam.

The trade-off is everything after you subscribe. Voice is presets, not calls; memory and roleplay come in tiers nobody can define; the yearly plan is advertised at a saving it does not deliver; refunds exist only for fraud; and the single loudest thing about the brand online is people trying to cancel. The demand curve says the same: 135,000 searches a month in April, 27,100 by August.

Who should pick it: someone who wants to build a specific companion, mostly chat, and generate a few images a month knowing exactly what they cost, paying monthly on a card they can cap. Who should not: anyone who wants voice calls, anyone who will sign up for a year on the strength of the badge, and anyone who expects to cancel with one click.

Where it stands today: #41 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, growing on my scorecard on an organic estimate I expect to fall, with a reputation that is fair in the press and hostile on Reddit. If brand searches find a floor and the cancellation flow becomes one toggle, it stays a recommendation for builders; if searches keep halving, this was a campaign with a product attached.
