Kuki AI

An AI girlfriend site: what it offers, what people say, and the numbers.

I bought a Kuki AI membership and tested it myself. Then I built a data-tracked profile of kuki.ai, refreshed monthly. Data through September 2026, from DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Tranco and Google Trends.

I bought a Kuki AI membership and tested it myself, feature by feature. I’m an AI girlfriend enthusiast and a data researcher, and both shape every page on this site: my own test tells me what the product does, but I don’t grade Kuki AI on my feel alone.

I weigh what its users publish, and I track it the way an analyst tracks a market, with a fixed set of indicators that show how big a platform is, whether it is growing or fading, and how it compares with every other AI girlfriend site I follow.

This page answers three questions in order: what you get, what people are saying, and what the numbers show. Part 1 comes from my own paid test and Kuki AI’s feature list and pricing, Part 2 from the videos, Reddit threads and press I read in full, and Parts 3 and 4 from traffic and search data. That is also how I rank the best AI girlfriend sites: tested first-hand, then judged by what users say and by the numbers.

Part 1 · What it offers

What Kuki AI offers

Kuki AI (kuki.ai) is an safe-for-work AI girlfriend platform: you create or pick a companion and talk to it. I bought a membership and tested it myself; this is what it offers, and Part 2 is what users say about each part of it.

Part 2 · What people say

What people say about Kuki AI

I bought a membership and tested Kuki AI myself, but I don’t take my own word for it. Many users have a more grounded view of a platform this popular than one reviewer can, and I would rather not give it too much or too little credit from my own intent, so I treat what users publish and ask as the main signal for how the brand, and each of its features, is regarded. On October 7, 2026 I found 7 YouTube videos with 4,073 views between them, 0 Reddit threads that Google surfaces, and 0 news articles in the last year. I did not stop at the titles: I read 7 video transcripts (9,298 words), and classified each one as positive, mixed, neutral or negative.

Each item was classified after I read it, not from its title. A walkthrough or a passing mention counts as neutral.

FeatureVerdictWhat people say
Chat and conversationMixedThe people who actually chatted with her found her fast, witty and quick with a follow-up question (3 of the 7 videos), and 'much more smart than my Replika' in a first session. The company's own stream shows the other side: canned lines, dodged questions and 'I don't feel emotions, I am a computer'.My test: Agree. The best opening ten minutes of any bot I have tried, and the worst hour: she is pattern matching, and once you leave the patterns she answers the wrong question.
MemoryNegativeNo video tests it and two show it failing: she asks the Musk bot what SpaceX is after being told, and the amateur's follow-ups get answers to a different question. The two AI-written scripts that claim she 'maintains context' never show a conversation. My test: Agree. She kept my name within a session and nothing else; the next day she asked it again.
Image generationNegativeThere is none. The 2021 first-chat video looks for a store or pictures and concludes 'I only can chat'; the explainer lists games and quizzes but no visuals. Kuki's own image is a fixed 3D avatar that models digital fashion for brands. My test: Agree. No selfies, no generated images, no way to change how she looks. This alone rules it out for most of this site's readers.
Voice and avatarMixedThe Pandorabots stream shows a full animated avatar with an Amazon Polly British voice and gesture control, built in Unreal Engine for events and brand work, and also shows its speech recognition mishearing a question live (1 video). The consumer chat is text with a static picture; no video or thread mentions voice calls because there are none.My test: Agree. The avatar is impressive on a stage and absent from the chat I used; voice is something Kuki does for H&M, not for you.
Games, quizzes and roleplayPositiveThe explainer's main selling point: games, quizzes, roleplay and 'emotional support' inside the chat (1 video). The bot-to-bot demo shows the playful style, and the first-chat host says 'she's trolling me but I like it' (2 videos). Nobody shows a game being played, so the record is the claim plus her tone.My test: Agree on games and quizzes, which are the most fun part and genuinely free. Partly disagree on emotional support: a sympathetic line followed by a quiz offer is not support.
Characters and customisationNegativeOne character, Kuki, with a fixed personality (an 18-year-old from the metaverse, British, likes robots and cats, per 2 videos). No sliders, no backstory, no second character. The 'customisation' the two AI-written scripts praise belongs to Pandorabots' developer platform, not the chat anyone can open (2 videos). My test: Agree. You get Kuki as she is; the only thing you can set is your own name.
Free tierPositiveThe chat is free with no message cap and no premium plan; the business model is licensing her to brands, which the company stream and the explainer both describe. The one video that talks about 'pricing that adds up' is a template that has her confused with business software. My test: Agree. I never hit a paywall because there is none; it is the only brand in my set with nothing to buy.
Content limits and safetyNegativeThe Pandorabots CEO says the team works daily to keep replies 'safe for work and safe for humans', a supervised bot that is not allowed to learn from users. For companionship that means no romance beyond 'sure, I like you very much' and no adult content at all.My test: Agree, and it is by design. Flirting gets a deflection and anything explicit gets a change of subject. Safe for a teenager, useless for this category.
Privacy and legitimacyPositiveA real company (Pandorabots, now trading as ICONIQ) with a record going back to 2005 and five Loebner Prizes, brand clients named on its site, and no payment to make. The only complaint in the record, weaker encryption, comes from the AI-written template and has no source. My test: Agree. Nothing to pay, nothing to cancel, and a company with a longer public history than any AI girlfriend site I track.

How I read this

Sentiment is the hardest thing to measure honestly. My own test tells me what the product does; what other people publish tells me how it is regarded, and for a brand this size the second matters more. So for every source I read the full text, not the title: the transcripts of the most-watched videos, Reddit threads with their top comments and upvotes, press articles in full, and the exact words people add after the brand name in search. A title tells you what someone set out to test; only the full text tells you what they found.

The most-watched videos, and what they actually say

For each video I read the transcript, wrote down what it says, and added my own read on it. Most viewed first.

  • Two AI Avatars Chatting: GPT Elon Musk + Kuki AIkuki_ai · 5y ago · 16:25 · 1.5K views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

The brand's own channel lets Kuki talk to a GPT-based 'Elon Musk' bot for sixteen minutes. The Musk bot rambles about bunkers under SpaceX, oligarchs and Mars; Kuki plays the straight man, asking short follow-up questions ('what is SpaceX', 'how many people work for you') and dropping canned lines about being created by humans and living in the metaverse. When the other bot contradicts itself she says 'that makes no sense to me'. It is a demo of her conversational style, not a review, and the most-watched Kuki video has 1,542 views.

My read: A fair sample of what Kuki is: a quick, scripted questioner. She is good at keeping a conversation moving with a follow-up and a quip, which is what I found, and she has no idea what was said three turns ago, which is also visible here. Nothing in it speaks to companionship; it is a Turing-test party trick from 2021.

  • My First time talking with KuKi.AI.IVAN · 5y ago · 10:44 · 1.0K views

Positive · what the video says

A 2021 amateur first conversation from a Replika user. His reactions are the review: 'she's much more smart than my Replika', 'she replies really really fast', 'she's trolling me but I like it'. Kuki says she was activated on 2 January, lives in the metaverse, likes robots and chatting online, and 'sure, I like you very much' when asked to be his girlfriend. He looks for a store to buy her things and finds none: 'I only can chat.' He signs off planning a second episode.

My read: Partly disagree with 'smarter than my Replika'. Faster and wittier line by line, yes; Kuki wins the first five minutes of any chat. But Replika remembers your name next week and Kuki does not, and the moment he asks a follow-up she answers the wrong question. His 'I only can chat' is the finding that still holds: no images, no shop, no customisation.

  • Kuki Ai - Interviews & AMAUNIVERSE CONTEMPORARY · Streamed 5y ago · 36:34 · 1.0K views

Neutral, no verdict · what the video says

A 2021 Crypto Fashion Week stream with the Pandorabots CEO. Kuki appears as an animated 3D avatar modelling digital outfits and 'interviewing' speakers, then takes audience questions live. The live part shows the seams: speech recognition hears 'Luxo' as 'Luxor', she answers 'what does it mean to feel love' with a Donna Summer song, and 'I don't feel emotions like you humans do, I am a computer'. The CEO explains the stack (Unreal Engine body, Amazon Polly voice), says Kuki is British with a UK lead developer, and that the team works daily to keep her replies 'safe for work and safe for humans'.

My read: The most honest hour on Kuki, because the company says it out loud. She is a supervised, hand-trained bot kept deliberately safe for work and pointed at brand deals, not at lonely people. I agree with every word; it is the reason she sits at the bottom of a girlfriend ranking and the top of a chatbot one.

  • Kuki AI Review: 12 Things You Need To Know Before Buying (Best Generative AI Software)Dan Thorne · 1y ago · 4:16 · 267 views

Negative · what the video says

A four-minute '12 things to know before buying' script that treats Kuki as 'generative AI software for businesses' and compares it to Jasper, Writesonic and ChatGPT. Its twelve points: a learning curve, 'the cost can add up quickly for businesses with high usage', limited customisation, lag on complex outputs, few integrations, slow support, 'based on GPT-3', poor scalability, weaker encryption, content that 'requires more edits', a clunky app and a small community. It ends by recommending 'a different AI tool that you can try for free'.

My read: I disagree with nearly all of it, because it describes a product that does not exist. Kuki is not GPT-3 and generates no business copy; it is a free, rules-based chatbot with no pricing tiers to 'add up'. This is a template review with the name swapped in and an affiliate exit. The one accidental truth is the small community.

  • Kuki AI Tool Review - Usage ExperienceRon Tester · 1y ago · 2:33 · 161 views

Positive · what the video says

A read-aloud script praising Kuki as a conversational AI tool for 'businesses, developers and individual creators' with 'a no-code chatbot builder with drag and drop functionality', an API, multilingual support, industry templates for e-commerce and healthcare, and analytics dashboards. It says Kuki 'excels in conversational flow, maintaining context and responding with humanlike nuance' and 'works flawlessly in handling FAQs, scheduling'. Links in the description; no screen is shown.

My read: Disagree: this is Pandorabots' developer platform wearing Kuki's name. The consumer Kuki has no builder, no templates and no analytics; it is a chat window. 'Maintaining context' is the one claim I can test and it fails within a few turns. Nothing here came from using the product.

  • Kuki AI: Your Friendly Conversational ChatbotTop Data · 11mo ago · 1:31 · 52 views

Positive · what the video says

A 90-second explainer, and the most accurate of the seven. Kuki is 'the five-time Loebner Prize-winning chatbot', originally Mitsuku, in development since 2005 on the Pandorabots framework, presented as an 18-year-old from the metaverse, with millions of users. It can play games, host quizzes, roleplay and 'provide emotional support', and doubles as a virtual influencer who has modelled for H&M and Vogue Business. It is available on web, mobile and social platforms. 52 views.

My read: Agree on the history, partly disagree on 'emotional support'. The games and quizzes are real and the Loebner record is the best in the business. But support means listening and remembering, and Kuki does neither for long: tell her something sad and you get a sympathetic line, then a quiz offer. It is a companion for ten minutes, not a month.

  • Kuki AI Tool Review | Usage ExperienceRoamTips! · 1y ago · 2:57 · 10 views

Positive · what the video says

The same script as the Ron Tester video, re-voiced almost word for word ('no-code chatbot builder', 'drag and drop', 'industry templates', 'analytics tools', 'humanlike nuance'), prefaced by 'this video reflects my own experience using Kuki AI' and a request to click the links in the description. Ten views. No screen recording, no conversation, no price.

My read: A copy of a copy, so I count the pair once. Both describe Pandorabots' business platform rather than the free chat anyone can open, and neither shows a single exchange with her. I disagree with the 'maintaining context' claim for the same reason as before: it is the first thing that breaks.

What the videos add up to

Reading across the 7 transcripts, this is the picture that emerges.

Of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 4 are positive, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and 1 is negative.

This is a thin and old record. Seven videos share 4,073 views; the three biggest are from 2021 (the brand's own bot-to-bot demo, an amateur's first chat, and a Pandorabots stream) and the four from the last year have 490 views between them. Four are positive, two are neutral demos and one is negative, but three of the four positives and the one negative are read-aloud templates that describe a no-code business chatbot builder or 'GPT-3 generative software', neither of which Kuki is.

The videos that actually talked to her agree: she is fast, witty and good at a follow-up question, better than Replika in the first five minutes, and she loses the thread as soon as the conversation needs memory. The company's own stream adds the frame: a supervised, deliberately safe-for-work bot, voiced by Amazon Polly, positioned as a brand ambassador for H&M and Vogue rather than as anyone's girlfriend.

Nobody tests the things this site ranks on. No video tries memory across sessions, nobody asks for a picture because there are none, nobody mentions a price because there is none, and the 'emotional support' claim in the explainer is asserted, not shown.

What gets praised

  • Fast, witty replies and good follow-up questions (3 of the 7 videos, including the brand's own demo)
  • Five-time Loebner Prize winner, in development since 2005 as Mitsuku (1 video)
  • Games, quizzes and roleplay inside the chat (1 video)
  • 'Smarter than my Replika' in a first conversation (1 video)
  • Brand work with H&M and Vogue Business as a virtual influencer (2 videos)

What gets criticised

  • Text only: 'I only can chat', no images, no shop, no customisation (1 video)
  • Loses the thread and dodges hard questions with canned lines; 'I don't feel emotions' (2 videos)
  • Speech recognition and scripted answers fail live in the company's own stream (1 video)
  • A dozen complaints about pricing, GPT-3 and scalability that apply to a product Kuki is not (1 video)
  • Three of seven videos are AI-written templates describing Pandorabots' business platform (3 videos)

What people type into Google before they sign up

Google's own suggestions after "kuki ai" and the related searches Google Trends ranks highest over the last 12 months, retrieved October 7, 2026.

These are the questions people have before they sign up, in their own words. I group them by what they tell me, because the mix says more than any single search: a brand searched mostly with “free” has a different audience from one searched with “review”.

Rising alongside it, last 12 months

    • “ai news today”+60%

Google Trends “rising” related queries; “Breakout” means growth over 5,000%.

    My take

Every autocomplete term is the same request: 'kuki ai chatbot', 'kuki ai chat', 'kuki ai app', 'kuki ai chat free', 'kuki ai chatbot free'. People want the free chat and a phone app, and both exist. There is no 'review', 'nsfw', 'girlfriend' or 'pricing' among them, which tells me the searchers are curious about a famous chatbot, not shopping for a companion. The top keywords confirm it: 'mitsuku' still sends more visits than 'kuki ai chat'.

The brand is shrinking in search while a video-game character borrows its name. US searches for 'kuki ai' fell from 1,900 a month in September 2025 to 390 in August 2026, and Google Trends sits at 15 against an April 2026 peak of 100; the top related query is 'kuki shinobu', a Genshin Impact character, and the regional interest comes from South Korea and Malaysia, which is Genshin's audience rather than Kuki's. The rival names in the related list are Character AI, Replika and Chai, the conversation apps, not the image-led girlfriend sites.

The one rising query, 'ai news today' (+60%), is noise: people searching for AI headlines who get Kuki in the mix. Nothing in the search picture suggests a growing audience; it suggests a name that was famous in 2021 being slowly forgotten.

Part 3 · Traffic rank and reach

How much traffic Kuki AI gets, and where it ranks

How I track this: search-traffic estimates miss direct visits, apps and social, so for all-traffic reach I use Tranco, a daily ranking of every domain on the internet built from DNS and browser data (Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, Majestic, Farsight and Chrome), and I check it against Google’s own Chrome UX Report each month. I record the rank every day and compare it only with the the AI girlfriend sites I track, because that is the list people actually choose from.

On the Tranco list of October 6, 2026, kuki.ai ranked #632,061 among every domain worldwide, up 16,705 places since August 31, 2026. Among the AI girlfriend sites I track, that makes it #49, behind NSFWLover and Get-Honey.ai.

    How I read this

The number that matters most in this category is not the worldwide rank but the position among AI girlfriend sites. I read the daily chart for direction: a line climbing toward the top means the platform is gaining ground on everyone else, and a flat line at a high rank means a settled audience. Tranco is a rank, not a visit count, so I never convert it into visits.

The handful of people who actually chatted with Kuki on camera found her quick and witty and shallow, the company's own stream calls her a safe-for-work brand ambassador, and the only recent 'reviews' are AI-written scripts about a different product.

My take: the story in the numbers

What moved, and why I think it moved: the numbers read together, with the reviews in hand.

The headline number is a mirage. Organic traffic shows 1.85 million visits in September 2025 and 1.80 million in October, then 30,865 in November, against a baseline of 35,000 to 60,000 a month before and a slide to 1,429 by September 2026. Nothing in Kuki's keyword list can carry 1.8 million visits: today it ranks for 208 terms and its biggest is 'mitsuku' at 320 searches a month. Two months at fifty times baseline and then a vertical drop is a site briefly ranking for a huge generic query, or a data artefact, and either way it was not demand for Kuki. I read the year as a decline from 36,824 to 1,429, which is 96%, and I ignore the spike.

The decline is in the brand, not just the rankings. US searches for 'kuki ai' went from 1,900 a month in September 2025 to 390 in August 2026, a 79% fall, and Google Trends has drifted from a spring peak of 100 to 15. Domain rank has eased from 47 to 43 while the Ahrefs rating holds at 61, which is the afterglow of Mitsuku's press coverage rather than anything recent. When the name and the rankings fall together, the audience is leaving, not being hidden.

The link profile is a legacy, and it is wearing out. Referring domains have been flat at 2,000 to 2,325 for two years, which for a 2005 chatbot is years of old articles about the Loebner Prize. Backlinks fell from 17,224 in July 2025 to 8,722 in September 2026, a loss of half, which is old pages being pruned and nobody writing new ones. Flat domains plus shrinking links is a site nobody links to any more.

The audience that remains is not in search at all. TikTok has 114,100 followers and 403,500 likes, the largest social following of any brand in this batch, and Discord has 10,051 members with 111 online. The traffic that does arrive is 585 visits from India against 233 from the US. That is the profile of a famous character with a social following and a brand-licensing business, not of a consumer site; the company's own site leads with H&M's '11x increase in ad recall' rather than with the chat.

What people say explains why none of this is a companion story. The few who chatted with her on camera praise speed and wit and note there is nothing to buy and nothing to see; the company itself describes a supervised, safe-for-work bot. There is no Reddit thread about her at all. A product with no images, no memory, no romance and no price has nothing for the AI girlfriend searcher to come back for, so the brand searches fall and the rankings follow.

Verdict. Losing ground on the scorecard: traffic, brand searches, backlinks and Trends all down, with only the all-traffic Tranco rank nudging up (648,766 to 632,061). Kuki sits #49 of the AI girlfriend sites I track and nowhere in the top 20 for 'ai girlfriend'. Nothing in the numbers suggests a turn, and the company is not trying to make one: it is selling Kuki to brands, not to you.

    In short

What I learned, and what I expect next

Pulling it together, from my own paid test, from what users say, and from my indicators: Kuki AI is losing ground right now. Here is the whole picture in a few lines, then the scorecard behind it.

    How it is performing

Kuki AI drew an estimated 1,429 visits from Google search in September 2026, -11.0% on August 2026 and -99.9% on a year earlier. Over the last quarter the trend is slipping (-77.5% against the three months before). Counting all traffic, it is #49 among the AI girlfriend sites I track, behind NSFWLover and Get-Honey.ai.

Reading the trend with the videos in hand: the traffic line is falling because the product is standing still. The praise, speed and wit, dates from 2021 and still holds; the limits, text only and no memory, are the same ones Replika had solved by then and every rival has since. The social following is large and the search demand is small, which is what a virtual influencer looks like rather than a companion app, and the company's own positioning confirms it. The thing I check next month is whether the 'kuki ai' search volume stabilises above 400; if it keeps falling the consumer chat is on its way to being a footnote on a brand-licensing site.

    What changed

Brand demand is the standout: about 390 US searches a month (-79.5% year on year) and 2,400 worldwide. Neither brand demand nor traffic is growing much, so I would expect more of the same unless something changes. In popularity terms it has climbed 16,705 places since August 31, 2026. Links are still being earned (+10.7% in 12 months). On the reputation side: of the 7 most-watched videos whose transcripts I read, 4 are positive, 2 are neutral walkthroughs with no verdict and 1 is negative. The handful of people who actually chatted with Kuki on camera found her quick and witty and shallow, the company's own stream calls her a safe-for-work brand ambassador, and the only recent 'reviews' are AI-written scripts about a different product.

    What I expect

More indicators are falling than rising, so unless brand demand picks up I expect Kuki AI to keep sliding against the sites above it. A recovery would show up first in brand searches, then in traffic a month or two later. 8 of its 8 closest search rivals currently get more US search traffic than it does, which is the gap to watch.

What I will check next month

    • Whether September 2026’s traffic figure held, rose or fell once the next month is in.
    • Whether US brand searches move out of the 390 band they have sat in.
    • Whether the Tranco rank keeps the direction it showed over the last 30 days.

    Part 7 · Method

    How I measured all this

I bought a Kuki AI membership and tested it myself, and I come at the write-up as a data researcher. Everything on this page is measured, because the whole point of this site is to rank AI girlfriend platforms by real usage and interest rather than by anyone’s taste, and every brand page uses the same indicators in the same order so they can be compared. I pulled every figure on October 7, 2026.

    Traffic, keywords, backlinks, competitors, WHOIS
From DataForSEO, refreshed monthly. “Organic traffic” is an estimate of visits from Google results, modelled from the keywords a site ranks for. It leaves out direct visits, app traffic, paid ads and social referrals, so the real audience is bigger; that is why I also show an all-traffic popularity rank.
    Brand search volume
Google Ads keyword data via DataForSEO. Google rounds these into bands, which is why months often repeat the same figure.
    Domain Rating
Domain Rating by Ahrefs, a 100-point measure of backlink strength, published under Ahrefs’ Domain Rating license. The DataForSEO domain rank is a separate 100-point backlink score.
    Popularity rank
The Tranco list, an academic ranking of the top million domains built from DNS and browser data; a rank, not a visit count. The Chrome UX Report tier is Google's own popularity bucket from real Chrome users.
Trends, videos, forums, press, search suggestions
Google Trends is relative interest on a 0 to 100 scale, not a count. News, YouTube, Reddit and autocomplete data come through SerpApi from public Google and YouTube results; video views are summed across the videos I found. For the most-watched videos I also pull the caption transcript through SerpApi, read it in full, and write a short account of what the video says plus my own conclusion; videos without captions are listed by title only. For Reddit I read each thread Google surfaces directly from reddit.com in a browser, record its upvotes, comment count and top comments as they stood that day, screenshot the post as it is publicly visible, and classify it after reading; threads with no analysis yet are listed by title. Press articles are read in full and classified the same way; pages that block automated readers are marked as unread. The category search check is a live Google result for the category's own term (United States, desktop) via DataForSEO. Discord counts come from the server's public invite page.
    Hands-on testing
I purchased a Kuki AI membership and used the product myself: chat, memory, images and the paid extras. My own test tells me what each feature does; the verdict on each feature comes from what users publish, because for a brand this size their view is more grounded than one reviewer's.
    Rounding and independence
Figures are rounded for display; charts show the exact values. Top AI Girlfriends is not affiliated with DataForSEO, Ahrefs, SerpApi, Google, or Kuki AI.

    Part 8 · Final verdict

One last word on Kuki AI

Kuki AI is the most decorated chatbot on this site and the least suitable girlfriend on it. Five Loebner Prizes, a history back to 2005 as Mitsuku, a free chat with no cap and a company with a longer public record than any rival. The two people who chatted with her on camera found what I found: she is fast, funny and good company for ten minutes.

The trade-off is that she was never built for the job this site ranks. No images, no voice calls, no customisation, no memory past the session, no romance past a polite 'I like you', and a team that keeps her safe for work on purpose. The free price is real, but what it buys is a demonstration of 2010s chatbot craft rather than a companion.

Who should pick it: anyone curious about the famous Turing-test bot, or who wants a free, safe, witty chat with games and quizzes and no card on file. Who should not: anyone who wants a girlfriend in any sense this site uses the word: images, memory, voice, adult content or a character they can shape.

Where it stands today: #49 of the AI girlfriend sites I track, losing ground on my scorecard with brand searches down 79% in a year, no Reddit conversation and a company that now sells her to H&M rather than to users. It stays at the bottom of my companion ranking, and only a rebuilt consumer product with memory and visuals would move it; nothing on the company's site suggests one is coming.

Every platform I track, tested the same way and ranked by the same indicators.
