What YouTube is

For this category YouTube is the main place people publish a real test: someone pays for a plan, records the chat, the images and the voice, and says what they think. Written reviews of AI girlfriend sites are mostly affiliate pages; the video reviews are frequently the only independent account of what a product does.

We fetch the videos and their transcripts through SerpApi, read each transcript in full, summarise what the reviewer actually found, and record whether our own test agreed. View counts come along with the result, which tells us how much weight a given opinion carries.

Why we rely on it

  • It is a primary source: the reviewer's own words, in full, not a summary of a summary.
  • View counts are public, so a video with 300,000 views can be weighted differently from one with 90.
  • A video is hard to quietly edit after the fact, unlike a web page, so a transcript is a durable record of what was claimed.

What we take from it

Video reviews
The most-watched videos about each brand, each one summarised from its transcript with a conclusion about what it says.
View counts
Shown next to each video, so you can see whether the consensus rests on an audience or on one clip.
Agreement and disagreement
Every brand page records where our own month on the site matched the videos and where it did not.

What it cannot tell us

  • A great deal of it is affiliate content. We mark promotional videos as such rather than counting them as reviews.
  • Videos about a different product with a similar name are common in this category. Those are dropped, not counted.
  • Only videos with transcripts can be analysed properly; the rest are left out of the summary.

This is the only page on the site that links out to YouTube. Everywhere else, a citation links here instead, so the context travels with the number.
