PepHop
#44 on the ranking
PepHop is a cheap, uncensored, text-only character-chat site with better writing than its reputation, and a month with it convinced me the writing is the only reason to stay.

| Best for | Users wanting the widest character selection and strong roleplay at a budget-friendly price | Users who want a feature-rich companion platform at a budget price with strong chat and image quality |
| Not for | Users needing voice interaction, native mobile app, or high-quality image generation | Those who need reliable live voice calls or a usable free tier to test the experience |
| Operator | PepHop AI HK Limited (per Plisio's April 2026 review), billing through a Stripe account named MIMOO LLC; founders not disclosed, with a spokesperson known only as 'Buckle' | DreamAI SRL |
| Pricing notes | Free tier available (daily message limit). Paid tiers from Lite ~$4.99/month up through Classic $9.99/month and Elite ~$29.99/month. Browser-based access. | Tiered plans starting at Bronze $9.99/mo, up through Silver $19.99/mo, Gold $49.99/mo, and Diamond $99.99/mo, each raising the messages, images, video, and voice credit allowances. Roughly 10% off with a 3-month commitment. Token system for additional features. Cryptocurrency accepted. |
My take
Both give you a free tier, so you can try the chat on each before paying; expect message caps and few or no images until you upgrade. DreamGF simply does more: custom character creation, nsfw chat and image generation and voice messages are on its list and not on PepHop's. More features is only better if you will use them.

The better value in each row is marked in green. Search visits and brand searches are DataForSEO estimates; Tranco and Chrome UX tiers are ranks, not visit counts.
My take
Start with the row this site ranks on. When someone types "ai girlfriend" into Google in the US, DreamGF is there at #53; PepHop does not appear in the tracked positions at all. That is why DreamGF sits higher here even if it is the smaller site: it is the one the category sends newcomers to. On size, PepHop is the busier site: 17,002 search visits a month worldwide, about 4 times what DreamGF gets (4,657). These are estimates of visits from Google only, so a site with apps or ads can be bigger than this shows. Brand searches are the loyalty line: 4,400 people a month type PepHop's name, against 2,900 for DreamGF. A name people type on purpose is a site they come back to; a site with lots of visits and few brand searches is living on rankings it could lose. Tranco tells a slightly different story: it counts every visit, not only search, and there DreamGF comes out ahead (#287,472 against #442,527). When search and all-traffic disagree, the site that wins on Tranco has an audience that does not come through Google. DreamGF's Domain Rating of 60 against 42 means far more sites link to it, which is what keeps rankings stable; the weaker link profile is the one more likely to move, up or down, when Google reshuffles. In plain terms: PepHop is bigger, DreamGF is the one the category search points to.

“Users” is the balance of the YouTube reviews, Reddit threads and articles read for each brand page; “my test” is whether my own month on the site agreed with them.
My take
Users rate them about the same: 3 of 10 features positive for PepHop and 2 of 10 features positive for DreamGF. Where they split, PepHop gets the better word on chat and roleplay. DreamGF gets it on image generation. Both get the same complaint on free tier, so that is a category problem rather than a reason to pick one over the other. My own month did not always match the crowd: I disagreed with users on 2 points for PepHop and 1 point for DreamGF, and each disagreement is spelled out on the brand page.
