My take

Both give you a free tier, so you can try the chat on each before paying; expect message caps and few or no images until you upgrade. Kupid.ai is the cheaper way in at $17.99/mo against $19.99/mo for Replika. The entry price is only part of it: image, voice and video are often metered on top, so the pricing notes row matters as much as the headline. Kupid.ai simply does more: nsfw content, image generation and voice messages are on its list and not on Replika's. More features is only better if you will use them. On adult content they are not the same product: Kupid.ai allows it on paid plans, Replika keeps a filter. Decide that first and half the comparison decides itself.

My take

Start with the row this site ranks on. When someone types "ai girlfriend" into Google in the US, Kupid.ai is there at #7; Replika does not appear in the tracked positions at all. That is why Kupid.ai sits higher here even if it is the smaller site: it is the one the category sends newcomers to. On size, Kupid.ai is the busier site: 131,142 search visits a month worldwide, about three times what Replika gets (47,230). These are estimates of visits from Google only, so a site with apps or ads can be bigger than this shows. Brand searches are the loyalty line: 14,800 people a month type Replika's name, against 5,400 for Kupid.ai. A name people type on purpose is a site they come back to; a site with lots of visits and few brand searches is living on rankings it could lose. Tranco tells a slightly different story: it counts every visit, not only search, and there Replika comes out ahead (#89,382 against #254,630). When search and all-traffic disagree, the site that wins on Tranco has an audience that does not come through Google. Replika is the older domain (2004 against 2023), which counts for something in a category where sites close without notice. In plain terms: Kupid.ai is both the bigger site and the one the category search points to.

My take

Users rate them about the same: 3 of 10 features positive for Kupid.ai and 2 of 10 features positive for Replika. Replika gets it on free tier. My own month did not always match the crowd: I disagreed with users on 2 points for Kupid.ai and 3 points for Replika, and each disagreement is spelled out on the brand page.
