Joi AI Review 2026: Is It Any Good? We tested it hands-on.

Testing Joi AI meant opening Telegram, searching for the bot, and sending a first message, all inside about a minute, with no account creation and no onboarding flow of any kind. Once the conversation started, replies came back quickly and stayed in-character, direct NSFW text with no hedging on what I asked for. Over roughly 30 messages in a single evening, I never hit a moment where the bot broke character or produced a generic non-answer.

What I couldn't test because it doesn't exist: switching to a different persona, adjusting any personality trait, or picking up a conversation where I'd left off. I closed the app and came back about 24 hours later specifically to check for memory, and the bot responded like we'd never spoken, no reference to anything from the prior session. For a platform whose entire pitch is speed and simplicity, that's a real limitation the moment you want anything beyond a single sitting.

I went through every command and menu option the Telegram bot offers looking for any form of image generation, and found nothing. There's no /image command, no gallery, no way to request or view a picture of the companion I was talking to. This isn't a weak or slow image generator, it's a category that simply doesn't exist on this platform. I should flag something I ran into re-checking this: the joi.ai domain now fronts a much richer "character chat" website with dozens of personas, image generation, Neuron-metered video clips, and paid tiers, a completely different experience from the anonymous, sign-up-free Telegram bot this review tested. I couldn't confirm whether that's the same product having moved its primary experience off Telegram or a separate offering sharing the same name and domain, so I'm not attributing its image or video generation features to the bot reviewed here.

There is no voice feature to test on Joi AI, not a limited version, not a beta, nothing. I looked through every menu and command the Telegram bot exposes for voice messages or live calling and came up empty. For a bot that is already stripped down to text-only anonymous chat, this isn't a surprising gap so much as a confirmation of just how narrow the feature set really is.

If voice interaction is part of what you want from an AI companion, this is an immediate disqualifier. Everything about Joi AI assumes a purely text-based relationship, which may be an acceptable tradeoff for someone who wants exactly that and nothing more, but it should be a known limitation going in.

I looked for any way to reach a real person behind Joi AI, an email address, a help center, a pinned message in the bot with instructions, anything. I found nothing. I then sent a direct support-style question through the chat itself to see what would happen, and got back an in-character response rather than anything resembling actual customer service.

If something goes wrong, whether that's a billing question that doesn't apply here or just wanting clarification on how the bot works, there is no path to resolution beyond hoping the bot itself gives you a useful answer. This matches the least-supported platforms I've tested in this category, where the lack of any support infrastructure is total rather than just thin.

I could not find a pricing page, a plans list, or any mention of cost anywhere on the site or inside the Telegram bot itself. Every message I sent during testing went through without hitting a paywall or a request for payment, so as it stands today, Joi AI is free to use.

That's a real point in its favor if you're only after a quick, no-cost way to try anonymous NSFW chat, but the total absence of pricing transparency is still a genuine weakness. There's no way to know whether the bot will introduce a paywall tomorrow, whether usage limits are being quietly enforced, or what "free" actually means long-term on a platform with no terms or plans published anywhere. I'll also note that the joi.ai domain now shows a separate, richer character-chat product with published premium tiers (subscriptions plus a Neuron currency for images, video, and calls), but since I couldn't confirm that's the same Telegram bot tested here, I haven't carried those numbers into this review.
