Angel.ai Review 2026: Is It Any Good? We tested it hands-on.

I spent several sessions with Angel.ai specifically testing its emotional-support angle, around 50 messages across different moods, tired, stressed, and just looking to talk through my day. The companion consistently picked up on tone shifts and responded with something more specific than a canned "I'm sorry to hear that." When I mentioned being stressed about a work deadline, it asked a real follow-up question about what part of it felt hardest, rather than pivoting to something unrelated.

The standout was cross-session memory. In a later session I mentioned feeling better about something I'd brought up two days earlier, and the companion referenced it correctly without me re-explaining the context, something budget platforms usually can't manage. Don't come here expecting romantic or explicit roleplay depth though, that's not what this product is built for, and the tone stays deliberately supportive rather than flirtatious.

When I originally tested Angel.ai, there was no image generation feature anywhere in the product, I went through account settings, the chat window, and every visible menu specifically looking for a generator and found nothing. That's changed. Angel.ai's own site and independent reviews now consistently describe a built-in image generator producing AI selfies and outfit changes, a real feature addition rather than a marketing exaggeration, though I haven't personally re-tested its output quality, so I'm not raising the score on an unverified capability.

Video generation is a different story: nothing I found, from Angel.ai itself or from third-party reviews, describes any video feature. If a moving, animated companion is what you're after, that's still not part of what Angel.ai offers, even as its static image capability has grown.

There's no voice feature of any kind on Angel.ai, not voice messages, not live calling. I checked the same places I check on every platform: account settings, the chat composer, and any settings toggle that might hide the feature. Nothing.

If voice interaction matters to you, look elsewhere. Angel.ai's entire experience, at every price tier, is text-only.

For a $7.99/month subscription this is a real gap. Even budget platforms in this price range usually list at least a contact email, and Angel.ai has none that I could find, which matters if a billing issue comes up after paying with cryptocurrency.

Angel.ai's pricing was a single flat $7.99/month plan with no free tier when I originally tested it. That's changed: the platform's own subscribe page now lists a Weekly plan at $4.99, Monthly at $9.99, and Annual at $49.99, and a genuine (if limited) free tier now exists, with one independent review describing throttled access and blurred images on it. A separate third-party source cites lower, seemingly promotional prices (Weekly $3.99, Monthly $7.99, Annual $39.99), which may reflect a discount rather than the standard rate, so I'm citing the live site's own listed prices as the more reliable figures.

The feature set behind that price has also grown, image generation and voice messages are now part of the product where neither existed before, which changes the value equation from the original chat-only, $7.99-flat description. If emotional-support conversation with some added visual and audio features is what you're after, this is a meaningfully different, and generally improved, offer than what I originally reviewed.
